My weirdest experiences at Sally’s were how they were with coworkers of mine. I went in with one who was not Black but I she was looking at a product more associated with 4b hair (her stylist had recommended it) when I tell you the sales associate was trying to talk her out of it but was being awkward about it because I was standing there. I kinda got the vibe of what was going on, so I stepped away and when we left my coworker mentioned that she said it was a product for Black ppl. She told her “well I guess my hairstylist thinks I have ‘Black ppl’ hair because she recommended it”. I went with another coworker who was formerly a hair stylist and their interaction was similar to this video.
I “got got” by a Sally’s employee. Came home with 850 ounces (exaggeration but damn near close) of shampoo and conditioner for 12 bucks.. that might I add, wasn’t designed for my hair.
