Offisian as someone who’s seen many of his videos no this was genuine rage.
It's amazing to watch this game because everyone who plays it starts out so calm, and then you see the slow descent into madness and agony.

This game is anything but *simple* Greg, it’s a sadistic, rage inducing, antagonistic game. And that’s the point of it. Causing despair to the most composed of people until they want to destroy this game, Many believe the creator is a major sadist.
I mean, it only makes people angry because they don't realize they are making mistakes when they have simple mechanics. Once you understand the mechanics you can easily speedrun the game.
I'm gonna take a *wild guess* and say you've probably already played it.
But haven't finished it.
@@Alb410 Well not speed run. To do that you'll nedd to truly master all the possible interactions and have really good reflexes. I for an example probably can't cause I need my time to consider a situation.
I am actually very calm when I play this game, but I’m really bad at it. So I don’t know what the true rage of the game feels like. (I haven’t made it to the orange zone)

Yup... Bennett's a fucking sadistic asshole. This game can take the most calm and collect individual and turn them into a complete mental and emotional wreck.

@@marshallbad First of all, you've never played the game for yourself and are obviously lying, second you're a total asshole when there's no reason to be one, videogames CAN have an emotional and mental effect on the player, whether it be rage-inducing, purposefully difficult and bullshit gameplay or a heartfelt story with characters you're attached to and want only the best outcome for, you obviously don't know what you're talking nor has experienced the game for yourself to truly experience the effect it'll have, try making up to an hour or more progress just to lose it all due to a small slip-up and use your damn head before commenting next time.

Of course I have put in countless hours in a game just to lose it all, it’s when people I play with are incompetent, being a troll or just an asshole in general to ruin another person’s day. I experienced true rage for probably the second or third time in my entire gaming career just a week or so ago. I put in about a hour and a half into collecting so, SO much loot to sell and I’m ambushed by player killers. So don’t tell me I don’t know what it feels like. The reason I said what I said is because I know these games. They are designed to frustrate you. And of course I’ve been frustrated by them. But I’ve gone through some tough shit in my life that has driven me to rethink my entire approach towards these situations.

Being a Markiplier fan for as long as I have been and knowing him as such a positive and happy-go-lucky person and seeing how much this game messed with him was crazy. I imagine that if this was the first video someone happened upon, they would SWEAR he was an angry miserable person and that's not his channel at all.

I have trouble watching rage compilations, especially for Mark. I may find a few parts iconic and funny, but most of the time I feel bad and want him to see him do well.
I've never seen that game before, but it would cause me to burn down my apartment. Being doomed to play that game for eternity is my personal hell. Watching him play it causes me anxiety.

To put "Getting Over It" into perspective, imagine that you're playing a game of Jenga and the tower keeps falling down.
Then, after a few hours of playing (keyword being hours here;) you've manage to build the tower to a tremendous height. Soon, you feel as though victory is in your grasp. But then, something happens and the whole thing comes crashing down.

Mark actually says in a twitch stream that like, pretty much all of that was completely genuine. Like he imagines how he's supposed to do all of that but if he can't actually do it, it gets him insanely frustrated (which i understand to a certain level) and it just really like affects his health and mental wellbeing. And that's why he really hates playing rage games; because he also said that he hates how angry he gets and how angry he looks and how scary he gets to people. like he says that he knows he's not pleasant to be around during something like that so that's part of the reason why he stopped playing rage games.
But his friends convinced him to play pogostuck and that's pretty funny
