My discord is a great place to ask these questions! We have a lively community with a ton of information at our disposal. This build is a great starting build as it’s just a 2 level dip into wizard but mostly a bard. Lots of fun roleplay material but with some gimics to make it play differently overall. The simulacrum is just another version of you, as a result it has all of your class features, spells etc that you have upon making the simulacrum. This includes your portents. A simulacrum is effectively just another creature in the combat so yes you can use it to simply copy what you just did, you can also use it to do other stuff though as it obeys your command. Hope this all helps, welcome to the community!
@Offbeat Outlaw Awesome! Thank you very much for for the clarification and tips! Just one more question for you for now: Do you recommend any apps or websites I can use to act as a "quick reference" for all the spells/traits/cantrips I choose? I find it to be very slow when I need to go through the website just to search up one spell that I don't remember what exactly it does during a heated combat session 😅
The only problem I see with playing a battlefield control character is that the majority of enemies that are worth using these abilities and spells against are the ones that have some way to just ignore them. Like legendary resistance
Question! I’m still learning the game, looking up what Mystic Arcanum is, and all I’m finding is an 11th level Warlock feature. How are you getting it as a Bard 18/Wizard 2?
Okay can I ask, Bane is a concentration, but a lot of spells that we use are also concentration, so you can't have both up at the same time, right? Is it that useful?
Question for the DMs here: I recently started DMing and now I am wondering: am I allowed to give a boss hypnotic parttern? I have a party member who can stun with a dark souls style parry, and if he fails the wisdom save, it makes the battle that much more interesting. The party is lvl 5 btw
what happens if all the party fails vs Hypnotic Pattern? They'll take a ton of damage (from the monsters attacking) and not act for a round and is it really fun for anyone? Maybe half save, is it fun for the other two or three? At 5th though they might have some good class abilities to help with saving throws against save or suck, you know them and know what they like to get challenged by, could be a devastating opener.
@@samuelbroad11 Agree with outlaw, find a monster that can cast wiz spells (my DM had Priests counterspelling me in PotA & it was upsetting)... Also after they take 1 hit they will be free of the spell, so its not a guaranteed TPK... WANNA SEE BROKEN 'HYPNOTIC SONG' on deep magic or Kobold Press (the range is hearing range!!! so sing real loud and hypno the whole village lol)
Question, how difficult would it be to make a lore accurate Vergil from the devil may cry series? Like summon swords and judgement cut (+end), trick movement, and Sin Devil Trigger?
Complete meme idea and most likely NOT EFFECTIVE in combat WHATSOEVER (unless you can prove me wrong), but… I want to see you make the FASTEST build possible. Whether you use magic items to increase your speed or not is up to you, I just wanna see your take on it. How far/fast can a character travel in a single turn running from point A to point B (wherever the heck point B is 😂)?
You mistakenly think that taking 2 short rest and getting your bardic inspiration back twice in an adventuring day means you only get 20 uses (with infectious inspiration)... you get 30 uses. You start the day with 5 and get 5 more (infectious inspiration), take your 1st short rest and get them back for another 10 uses, and finally take your 2nd short rest and get them back for a final 10 uses... that's 10+10+10=30 uses.
@@paulpicot4285 not really an issue for use with class features, because you can just keep the same simulacrum and it can keep getting them back, with only the initial cost.
You and your simulacrum cannot apply two uses of sickening radiance at once... or any other spell as spell effects are just one of the things in the game that cannot stack. Nice idea though, points for trying.
Legendary resistances can go a long way, don’t forget your counter spells and dispel magic. A banishment can also be a good way to remove the bard from the fight
I got to be honest here, this video somewhat rubbed me the wrong way, I know you don't necessarily mean it, but there was a bit too much focus on "making the dungeon master's life hell", not something I like to see

That’s why we have a simulacrum 😎
@@OffbeatOutlaw Ah, got it. I am actually trying this build in a campaign, but we are only level 6 haha Still very fun to play tho!
Question for the DMs here: I recently started DMing and now I am wondering: am I allowed to give a boss hypnotic parttern? I have a party member who can stun with a dark souls style parry, and if he fails the wisdom save, it makes the battle that much more interesting. The party is lvl 5 btw
There are spell caster bosses so yes you are. I would recommend looking through the monster manual for examples on what spells to pick 😁
what happens if all the party fails vs Hypnotic Pattern?
Not very difficult, you just have to reflavour pre-existing features
Just a bladesinger wizard reflavored

Pretty sure that the effects of true polymorph on other creatures aren't permanent, just on objects.
If you concentrate for the full duration they are permanent
Complete meme idea and most likely NOT EFFECTIVE in combat WHATSOEVER (unless you can prove me wrong), but…
I want to see you make the FASTEST build possible. Whether you use magic items to increase your speed or not is up to you, I just wanna see your take on it.
How far/fast can a character travel in a single turn running from point A to point B (wherever the heck point B is 😂)?
see 'The peasant railgun' -but passing you along instead
You mistakenly think that taking 2 short rest and getting your bardic inspiration back twice in an adventuring day means you only get 20 uses (with infectious inspiration)... you get 30 uses.
You start the day with 5 and get 5 more (infectious inspiration), take your 1st short rest and get them back for another 10 uses, and finally take your 2nd short rest and get them back for a final 10 uses... that's 10+10+10=30 uses.
Is there a reason for all the jump cuts?

I just now realized simulacrum leads to more portent rolls... Can someone explain how this spell is not 9th level please.
it has high costs & prep time, its usually done with the 9th lvl wish
@@paulpicot4285 not really an issue for use with class features, because you can just keep the same simulacrum and it can keep getting them back, with only the initial cost.
Where is your character sheet saved???
DND beyond. If you want access to it it’s on my patreon
There is no such thing as average result on dice, every side is same chance to roll.

Can i make it a fairy
Hi
Hello
You and your simulacrum cannot apply two uses of sickening radiance at once... or any other spell as spell effects are just one of the things in the game that cannot stack. Nice idea though, points for trying.
Please.. I already have a bard that does this is my game and I hate it.
