it does take a lot of work, im in my HS marching band, our formations are nowhere near as complex as this, and they take weeks of practice to get right.

@@theirrelevantmemer4962 i march for MIHS and the formation takes lots of practice, and the backwards marching is a basic marching technique, the trick is to keep your heel off the ground and your legs straight. :)

I have so much respect for marching bands. There's so much dedication and effort put into it, and they make it look easy.

I've watched at least a dozen times. Marching bands rarely receive the awe and appreciation of such a huge crowd, but obviously, the OSU fans obviously knew they were watching something special. Just listen to their reaction during and and the conclusion of the moonwalk.

Whoever attended that game received a treat. That band should’ve gotten paid that day and the director should be recognized 👍
I watched this on tv and I couldn't believe they nailed this. I'm a huge Ohio State Buckeyes fan and I loved how the band pulled off the moonwalk. If Michael were alive to see this he would be awestruck.

for some reason I am watching this for the first time and its making me get all choked up and teary eyed, I dont know where the students now are after ten years but I hope they know they really made a magical memory with this tribute. and even ten years later it still strikes a chord. THANK YOU!

Listen to the crowd around minutes 4 through 6. Ohio State loves their band, still, the sounds of appreciation made for the unforseen ability for the band to successfully engineer these moves is rare and very moving. Anybody that ever played in a marching band must surely appreciate the applause for an act well done.

It was SO COOL that the Marching Band was doing a tribute for Michael Jackson, and his 25th Anniversary of the album, "Bad". I liked the "Man in the Mirror" one better because of how they made the star with Michael Jackson in the middle.
Michael Jackson was an alien. A conflicted and troubled soul, submersed in the deep ocean of our emotions and feelings. I don't think we really got the chance to understand him, but I think he understood perfectly what made men, women and children of all cultures, languages and races move. He came from a different planet and taught us about emotions, love and fun. Though my mom barely speaks English, she would cry to Michael's songs and how a man was able to move her like that, make a band practice for endless hours to make this tribute, unite millions around the world for simple things, and for so many other things; I believe Michael was a freaking alien

Watching that start of the moon walk gave me chills. I just can't imagine how much time and practice went into the production. Micheal probably did not care one iota for football but you can bet he would been THRILLED to see this had he been alive!
