Thanks to your videos i got rid of my Bose and installed the entire range of the new Reference Premiere series my current setup include Klipsch Reference Premiere RP-504C (Center) , Klipsch RP-8000F (Front Left Right) , Klipsch R-115SW (Sub), Klipsch Reference Premiere RP-502S (surround), Klipsch Reference Premiere RP-502S (surround Back), Klipsch RP-500SA Reference Premiere Dolby Atmos (front) all these hooked on to a Yamaha RX-A3080.
Hey I just bought these Klipsch 502S. I own an Onkyo TX-RZ1100 Reciever I will be running a full 11.2ch by using my Pre-outs . I will be doing the same set up you will be doing. I am buying everything little by little paycheck by paycheck. I plan on buying the Klipsch 504C RP-8000F RP-500SA RP-502S And than I will be going with the SVS ELEVATION/ceiling speakers. Than I will be Dual SVS Ultra PB-16s subwoofers. I got a really great deal thru a company out in TX. He is selling me Dual SVS Ultra PB-16s for $1,500
i got quite the similar set up but im using the rf 7 lll. 64c spl 150 rp 402s couldnt afford the 50s way to expensive, have 2 pairs of the 500sa. i didnt hook all of them only LCR to 3080 can the receiver power all those to a decent level? i believe we need an amp to give it some good juice.
I bought these after watching this. Huge upgrade for me! Had other klipsch bookshelves in the rear and even had the inwall klipsch with opposing tweeters in my last house, these are bar far the best! My receiver after calibration set them to negative 10 dB and I did no have to adjust and then them up! Thanks for the review!
Love them, they are gorgeous! I have the series before these and they still sound amazing! power them with a separate amplifier and they shine even more!
I have the RP 250 for my back and side surrounds and they sound awesome. The diffuse sound field makes them hard to locate and that’s what a good bipolar surround speaker should do. I think this revised version has a new tweeter. What I like from the previous version aside from the sound is that I have never heard any distortion fom these speakers even at reference levels. I can’t wait your final review.
Yes man I do. Sound reviwes off klipsch rf-7 lll, you do so Good so I order One pair, never listen to them,so klipsch can thank you. I hope I can thank you to after listen to them, couse they come whit the surronds.

And four the klipsch rp-502s I need more listning to them before I come whit a little review about them. Mein first pair speaker off klipsch rf-7 lll sounds really great.
I've been following this new Reference Premiere series as I'm looking into getting a system with these new Reference Premiere speakers. You've got me waiting eagerly for every new upload!
Youthman, I guess that’s to be expected, I would definitely go with the RF-7’s but my space and budget can’t really accommodate them. Have you got to testing out the RP-504C yet?
WHOA mind blown. I thought Klipsch's naming convention was random! Now it makes sense. I have a R-34C (four 3 inch woofers) and a couple of other RP speakers.
Youthman I have a 7.2.4 all DefTech Atmos system. All my surround speakers are bipolar and send the sound in a wide field and sound great. Although my Atmos ceiling speakers are DefTech direct radiating, which should be sending the sound down. Sometimes we can’t all live in a Dolby perfect world . Enjoyed the video. And as always will wait for that bell to toll.
I read somewhere that bi-poles mess with Atmos sound and that it is better to have mono speakers. I have to have my seats backed up to the wall so do you I should have regular speakers firing from the side of the listening area or go for bi poles directly above my head in a 5.1 set up. Thanks Youthman
I haven’t seen anything concrete from Dolby that says you can’t use wide dispersion speakers as surrounds. Dolby doesn’t recommend using them as your Atmos speakers
@@Youthman Thanks Youthman, so if I have my seats backed up to the wall would you recommend a 5.1 set up with mono speakers to the side of the listening position or wide dispersion speakers directly behind me on a wall?
You are right! This should not be used on any atmos setup. These are a compromise for very specific situations but they are going to mess the sound. This must be avoided if at all possible
I have been seeing that with atmos ceiling speakers the monopoles work better with separation. Why not monos next to each row parallel wired to the receiver?
Am thinking of goings with these Klipsch surrounds or Definitely technology SR9080 surrounds, I do have center and R and L front tower Definitely technology Speakers, But I heard these Klipsch 502s are great Speakers
Can I place or hang one of these into a corner (or close to a corner) for a surround speaker in a 5.1 setup? They would then fire along the rear and side walls. I only have 2.5 feet of wall space from the rear left corner to a glass balcony door on my left and my couch is about the same distance from the rear and left wall.
I wish somebody would look and answer this. I need a swivel wall mounted bracket so I can install the speaker and I’m gonna have to turn it 90° so who makes the correct bracket or does it exist?
Hi Youthman! Thank you for your review! These speakers look awesome. Can they also be used as side surrounds since they're meant for immersive sound? Also, I had to rearrange my home theater set up due to some other Klipsch speaker upgrades. Until I get a shorter length living room table, right now I have a long table that's blocking my sub woofers. Is this ok since they produce low sounds, or ideally should you always have them open, with nothing in front of them?
Where did you place them? Between your 1st and 2nd rows? How high above ear level of the 2nd row...roughly? Also what kind of surround speakers do you have for the "rear-surrounds"? monopoles? Or are they dipoles too?
ok so I'm looking to upgrade.. to Klipsch surround speakers that can be used as front height speakers. I was looking at R - 41M's as the front's and rear surrounds a R-34C as centre speaker.. I already have a R-100SW sub. advice please? Or should I be using bipole surround speakers instead of monopole asback surrounds in a Dolby Atmos 5.1.2 config with front heights?
I'm planning on replacing my RS-52 II with these and just noticed that they went from 2x threaded inserts to a single one on the 502S. Do you think it will be enough to hold the weight?
theres one problem with this speakers i cant use the banana plugs if im putting them flat on the wall ,so can i use a wall plate or should i use flat wires send me link to both thanks
New to the world of sound. Can I use these on top of my rp250f . Have some on a local deal my room isn't set up for the side mounting. How do u think it would sound .
Thanks for another great review. I'm looking for something that has more high pitch sound not mid nor bass. In fact do you know of any surround sound speakers that consist of only tweeters or more tweeters than woofers? My q acoustics 3030i bookshelve and 3030ci center are great but I'm missing that tweeters high pitch upper sound to match my sb3000.
Old video I know, but how would you advise placing these in a room where the seating is up against the back wall? Speakers right in the corner, with one driver facing inwards, and one pointing towards the centre of the room?
Hey Youthman, after doing some more thinking, would you recommend or think it would be fine to pair up, 1 RC-64 III, and 2 RP-8000f’s. I will probably wait until next year, after Klipsch updates their line up, but I just wanted to see what your thoughts were on going with an RC-64 III, and 2 RP-8000 f’s for as I think about my home theater, the most important speaker I believe is the center channel, and I just don’t really see the point in buying 2 RF-7 iii, when I can get 2 RP-8000f’s, at the present time,
So I just got the Rf-7ii and 64ii Center yesterday and now need surrounds. The Rp502s are what I was looking at but noticed a pair of Rp402S come up for sale on the used market. Would they work good with my 7ii or should I be focusing on the 502S?
I bought a package that had 4 of the RP-502s surrounds. I'm using two for the side channels and two for the rear channels. Is this a good speaker for the rear channel? I'm curious how to place them properly for the rear channel. Do I stick them in the corner and the speakers will point directly down the rear and side wall, really not at any seating area directly, or do I put them flat against the rear wall in from the corners so they point into the room? Any help would be appreciated
Hello Sir, I'm planning to buy these for my surrounds. I have a wall behind my couch and the wiring for the speakers is installed quite high, so I will need a mounting bracket that can swivel the speakers to point down. Do you recommend any mounting brackets that can support my requirement?
Is this an atmos setup too? Right now speakers should be as close to rear level as possible. Speakers like this are a compromise that should be avoided if at all possible
Hey youthman, I just ordered the 502s but I wanted your opinion on what speaker stands to get? I don’t want to wall mount because we live in my moms second house next to hers. If you had to use speaker stands, what would u uses? Thank you, keep the videos coming. One love, One God, One way.
Question for you Youthman. I bought some Klipsch RM51 Bookshelf Speakers and a Klipsch Center channel for my new upstairs set up, as my wife made me get rid of my large vintage Polk SDA-1C's. I'm going to place my Klipsch Bookshelves and my Center below my TV on the audio cabinet, wife says no Floor Standing speakers. I am going to use my Polk Micro Pro 4000 sub. My question for you is, will it be a problem if I turn my Klipsch RM 51 Bookshelves on their side? I ask because I want the height on the top of the audio cabinet to be as uniform as possible.
Since the horn is 90x90, it should be fine. Some horns are say 60x90 so laying them on the side would give you better vertical coverage than it would horizontal coverage
Tip: (and esp for larger speakers) ... - Turn the box upside down - Open the box from the bottom - Fold back flaps - Carefully roll/turn the box over - Slide the box up and off (If the top polystyrene stays in the box be sure to check it for accesories/paperwork).
I actually just tried that in this video - ua-cam.com/video/8AC71O8n5zE/v-deo.html but I’m OCD and it went against everything inside me to open the box from the bottom LOL
As for the decision that Klipsch's present -day top of the line satellite speakers would have 5.25" woofers (versus the 6" woofers of previous models) would this negatively impact these speakers' suitability for use as "back" channel speakers(I.E. channels 6 & 7) when added to a system presently featuring four RF-7III(for front & rear), an RC-64III center channel speaker & an R-115SW subwoofer? As I discovered, two weeks after I bought my speaker system, the R-115SW became last year's model, superseded by the new SPL-150. Maybe you would know: are new, better Klipch satellite speakers imminent? Perhaps they would have 6 inch woofers?
I thought by now they would have introduced a6 inch model but they have not. I have not heard any news that they are going to. With that said, 5.25 inch drivers are absolutely fine for surround speakers. I ran RS-52 with RF83 and RC64 for many years and they had absolutely no problem keeping up with the front speakers. Hope that helps
I'm new to all this so excuse a stupid question but doesn't that weird shape and the "wide dispersion" defeat the whole point of proper Dolby speaker placement and aiming? Are these specifically designed for something like a 5.x where you don't also have rear surrounds? Or will they work in a 7.x with another set (same speakers) placed as rear surrounds? Can they be used for ceiling mounted atmos as well? I was told it was best to use all the same speaker for the 4 surrounds and atmos speakers but these seem to be weird for that. They are the only ones listed in this product line though on Klipsch's website.
I have always used wide dispersion speakers for my side and rear surrounds. You can use either them or direct radiating (like bookshelf speakers) for them but you would not want to use wide dispersion type speakers for your Atmos speakers
@@Youthman TThank you i will think about. Then i bought Klipsch RP 504C as new center. Old one Klipsch RC34 i would like to use as back center. Can you pls recommend me suitable connection for it? Thne RP-502 SA can be use as front sourround in case 9.2.4 connection? Thank you.
I've been looking at changing my rears single directional speakers for surround bipolar speakers will they be a big difference to do? I was also told that you don't really need to have powerful bipolar's because they send sound everywhere what are your thoughts on that?
I've never been a Klipsch fan to be honest I came here because I have many bipolar speakers on my list and theses RP 502S are too. So I know you seem to be a big fan but what are your thoughts on the SVS Ultra Surround series, the Definitive Technology SR-9040's, the Monitor Audio Silver FX's or the Fluance Signature Series Hi-Fi'S ? I know they are all very different but I invest for long term so don't want to make the wrong choice this is what I have right now B&W 702 S2's towers, B&W HTM71 S2 center, my rears are Wharfedale Diamond 220's and lastly I have dual Martin Logan Dynamo 800X subwoofers. thanks if you can help me for now I'm leaning towards SVS ultra's or the Klipsch RP 502S's I'm just scared the cooper design is going to throw off the way my set-up looks.
Which surrounds did you end up going with. I'm thinking about getting r 600ms but since they are back ported and I have to wall mount don't know if that would be good our just the 502s
Hello long time subscriber love your vids I've got a yamaha rx-a3080 with 5.1 surround sound for now all klipsch rp line recently bought a emotiva basx 3 channel for front 3 receiver won't let me select external amp don't know what's going on even when I run ypao any thoughts and any help would be greatly appreciated thanks
The issue of not being able to use banana plugs is annoying. The television manufacturers have figured out the same issue with HDMI connections by pointing the HDMI holes point down, right or left. Klipsch has been making speakers for a hundred years and this small tweak seems to elude them. They are a nice speakers. I use them as rears, slightly behind main seating area. They blend in seamlessly with my RP fronts and center. I went with a 12" HSU sub up front and a 12" SVS in a near field position which makes the rear speakers seem like they have a ton of bang in my 16x25 home theater room. I paid 599 for the pair in 2021.
I’m assuming you are referring to the red and black “plugs” that are on top of the binding posts. Those are easily removable with a small flat head screwdriver or a knife.
@@Youthman Nope, The binding posts are pointing almost straight out from the back of the speaker (5:34 on your video), which is why we cant use banana plugs. If Klipsch would point them down from the top of the binding post molding piece we could use banana plugs. My Polk LF/XS which the 502s replaced had the same issue. It seems so obvious given surrounds are the hardest to connect bare wire to. We've all been there standing on a ladder (or chair) holding speaker with one hand trying to attach wire with other hand.
I see. Binding posts are for convenience. If you do not plan on swapping out your surrounds anytime soon, there isn't a need to use binding posts. I use them on my LCR, my processor and my amplifier simply because it's a cleaner look and it makes it easy for me to swap out gear that I review. My side and back surrounds as well as my Atmos speakers do not have banana plugs as I do not change them. But I get what you are saying about the ladder and one handing it. Definitely makes it a bit more difficult to install. Easiest solution...get a friend to help.
Love the content! Thinking of purchasing my 1st sound system (5.1) for my dedicated media room (RP-8000f, RP-504c, 502s and R-115SW ). I want to wall mount the 502s but am concerned about how hard it would be for me to run the speaker wire to the receiver (thinking of going with your recently reviewed SR8012 or would that be too much for my setup?). The wire would likely have to go up and there is some attic space above that I could crawl and take the wire to the front of the room. Any tips/tricks/tutortials I should look at about running the wire (or if I should just hire someone) would be greatly appreciated!
Hey Youthman! I'm thinking of updating my old Infinity HCS surrounds to little bit bigger surrounds, but i can't make up my mind which ones to select, Klipsch 600M or 402S? I know either of them is not the subject of this video but because you have owned so many Klipsch speakers, i hope you could give me a little "push" to a one way or another. What do you think, would there be any benefit of 402S's wide dispersion compared to 600M's "one directional" shooting...? This 502S in this video, is little bit too expensive to my budget....i have already recently updated my fronts and sub to Klipsch, so updating surrounds also to Klipsch would be a good continuum to all this...
My apologies Jari for not seeing your comment. Wide dispersion vs direct radiating is mere preference. It depends on if you prefer directional sound or a more enveloping sound from your surround channels.
@@MUFCXI Dolby Atmos is object based so it requires direct speakers for pin point accuracy. Bipolar speakers spread out the sound in both directions so the accuracy of the object sound is misplaced
@@Youthman Hi Mike. Thanks a lot for the answer. As you said you did not make a proper review or comparison of them. So maybe, would you mind giving me your feeling ? : I've just sold my RF7 ii + RC64 ii. The mk3 as replacement are about to be shipped. I've got some RS-62 ii as surrounds, and 2 small RB41 ii as back channels (+ 4 Atmos in-ceiling). Do you think it would be worth replacing the surrounds by these RP-502S (and maybe the back as well by a second pair of 502S if they can fit into my "not that wide shelf" ....) 😃 Cheers Kris
How do they hold up to the 62s? I want to buy some 52s or 62s but they seem impossible to find, so I’m “settling” on the 502s, but there isn’t one review that talks about how they perform.. help?
i want this but, what benefit of triangle shape? cause it's looks like one speaker didn't look like sound directly to my ears. i have dolby atmos avr. is it better use this speaker or use speaker directly to ears?
Hey youthman love your channel. I have a question for you guys, I’ve got a 5.2.4 setup right now but looking to add surround back speakers to my system so what speakers would you recommend. I have the new denon x4700h receiver the speakers I have are the pioneer S-FS73A floorstanders plus the BS73A-LR for side surrounds and the SC73A for the centre channel. So my question is what surround back speakers would you recommend to match my system
Love all your videos! Your passion for home theatre really shows! I have a 7.2.4 setup and considering the RP502's for my surrounds (set of 4) With Dolby Atmos they seem to recommend going for a monopole speaker rather than a bipole or monopole. What are your thoughts? Keep the videos coming!
Thanks. I’m not sure Dolby is saying all channels have to be direct radiating speakers. The way I read it, they just do not recommend using wide dispersion speakers for your Atmos speakers
I have used these from Btech - B-Tech BT77 Ultragrip Pro Speaker Mount, Set of 2, Side Clamp with Tilt and Swivel, Black www.amazon.com/dp/B004DCAOHK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_oHkJFbFF8W28K
@@Youthman Thanks a lot brother - my confusion is that I want to use them as surround and due to the limitation of my room and wall curtains - I want them to suspended with a greater tilt so that they are angled down - more like 30 degree tilt - or more of a ceiling mount that has a length of 1 ft for better positioning - however your video on 502S has convinced me to go with these - thanks
You think that those surround speakers are a perfect match with my rf7ii ? Because for surrounds right now I have the rf35 , and they sit behind my sofa and don’t think they sound that good. Please let me know what I should do. Thanks!!!
Wondering if you have any experience with the klipsch rb240sb's. They are on at london drugs for 449.49. Are they good speakers and is this a good price. I live in Canada
What's your recommendation when it comes to height of these bipole? dipole speakers? It looks like you have them installed at least a foot above listening potion.
With an Atmos setup, it is recommended to have them at ear level. I built my room 10 years ago (pre-Atmos) when surrounds were recommended to be placed 2-3’ above listening area. It still sounds awesome to me so I likely will not move them.
Hi youthman, i am a big fan of your videos on home theater system. I have planned to buy a home theater system for a room of about 20 ft long 12 ft wide and 9 ft high. I have decided to buy denon Avr x4500 or x6500 model. For 11.2 i may need to buy x6500H model. But i am a little bit confused about the klipsch speakers model to select. My first choice is rp 8000f, rp 404c, rp 500m for rear, rp 502s for the side and 2 pair atmos speaker of rp 500sa model. My sub woofer will be svs sb 3000 model and single sub for the room. My question to an expert like you is that, is my denon avr x 6500H capable of using the full potential of the klipsch 8000f series hometheater. Or i should choose 6000f model for optimized output. Please reply me.
Hi Youthman, watching your videos over the last few months has really re-lit my hometheater fire and been doing a lot of upgrading. I recently purchased the RF-7 iis, RC-64-iis and have 4 CDT-5800-C II Atmos speakers. For the surrounds I have 4 Axiom QS8s which are fine surrounds but want to complete my home theater upgrade, if you had to do it over again would you still go with the RS-62s our these RP-502S our maybe different speaker? since a lot of people say its not as important to match surrounds with your front sound stage. FYI for the rear surrounds I think im going to move the rears back around 3 feet (currently right behind) since I have that option and us the RB-81 II
Hey Youthman, you have any advice for mounting speakers to thin wood panels on top of plasterboard? I'm trying to save some money and DIY the speaker mount.
@@Youthman Not so much on the mount, but hanging things on different type of surfaces. My Main problem is that I can't find the stud on the wall. The thin wood planks make stud finders inconsistent, so I decided I would just mount it with plastic wall anchors. Do you have any recommendations like the one you used for your surrounds? This is old home from the 1920s, so I assume they used plasterboard for the walls.
@@Youthman apologies, I mixed up the speakers I was talking about. I was thinking it was the RP-502's but it's actually the RP-600m that doesn't have the key hole. Do you have any recommendations? Will I be okay to drill a key hole it i don't go deeper than the box thickness or whole this essentially create like a port noise now or am I making that scenario up? Lol
Hi, Klipsch gives continuous power rating like 100 watt RMS continuous in these surround speakers👍. I wanted to know some speaker brands like SVS mention 20-100 watts recommended amplifier power handling. How can we assume it's continuous RMS handling. Thanks
You could always test them yourself. The reality is you’ll likely never want to feed them 100 Watts continuous. You have to double the power to gain 3dB in volume. The 502s are 95dB with 1 watt. 1 watt = 95dB 2 Watts = 98dB 4 Watts = 101dB 8 Watts = 104dB 16 Watts = 107dB 32 Watts = 110 dB 64 Watts = 113 dB 128 Watts = 116 dB Take a look at this hearing loss chart goo.gl/images/d5JHGC
For Atmos, I would look at the RP-500SA as they are aimed down towards your listening area unless you have a way of safely mounting the 600M to your ceiling
Would you recommend using these rp 502s as back surround speaker instead of side surround? I was thinking of using these as back right back left surround speakers. @youthman
Hello Youthman, I just found this pair of RP-502S speakers brand new in store for 399, and was wondering if you could help me out with my setup? I currently have a pair of R-625FA, a pair of R-51M (surround backs), the RC-62II center, and a sub. My current Receiver is a pioneer elite lx103... Can you advise/help me on figuring out how I can implement the pair of RP-502S into my home theater? I am thinking I need a new receiver... I was looking at the Pioneer Elite LX303, which says 9.2ch, but I am still confused because they both have a set of posts dedicated to Zone 2 so I am not sure if I can add the RP-502S? Great video. Thinking about buying these used for $400. Question. These should be mounted center of the room on the sides or closer to the seating area. Also, how high. Should they be eye level while standing or while sitting.
I'm using these for surrounds and backs. My room is a bit narrow at 10' so I appreciate the wide dispersion aspect. Also my backs are mounted on an angle so I'd have to mount direct firing on a moveable arm to aim properly. Doable for sure, but I'm happy with these for now anyway.
@@Youthman yes I know.. but are they Bipole or Dipole? I've monopole's set to face me.. Dolby Atmos recommend monopole speakers for surrounds.. Love them, they are gorgeous! I have the series before these and they still sound amazing! power them with a separate amplifier and they shine even more!
Very cool Fred.
Thanks Cesar.
Are these good for surround side speakers? I currently have an 5.2.4 set up and I may add these as surround sides to make it an 7.2.4?
this video is old but gold, i've seen them now, and can't decide between this speaker and ks525 thx in the same price point... omg
Decisions, desisions
I don't know the others you're referring to but I love Klipsch.
I couldnt resist buying these before your audio rewiew was uploaded, mine coming this week.
Two pair
Congrats Natte, let me know how you like them
Yes man I do. Sound reviwes off klipsch rf-7 lll, you do so Good so I order One pair, never listen to them,so klipsch can thank you. I hope I can thank you to after listen to them, couse they come whit the surronds.

I've been following this new Reference Premiere series as I'm looking into getting a system with these new Reference Premiere speakers. You've got me waiting eagerly for every new upload!
Thanks Ari. I've been listening to the RP-8060FA in 2ch and they sound great. Not as much slam as the RF7 III but that's expected.
Beautiful speakers. I’d love to have a set of these for my living room!
I have been seeing that with atmos ceiling speakers the monopoles work better with separation. Why not monos next to each row parallel wired to the receiver?
i've had the quartet IV for about six years and have been wanting to upgrade
Am thinking of goings with these Klipsch surrounds or Definitely technology SR9080 surrounds, I do have center and R and L front tower Definitely technology Speakers, But I heard these Klipsch 502s are great Speakers
I would like something for my front-wides that is shaped like this but only has one woofer+tweeter pointing towards the listener.
Great video man! Great looking speakers, awesome looking build quality. Love the magnetic grills.
Thanks
Can you make these speakers wireless? I read an article where Klipsh states any speaker can be made wireless with the use of a device.
Does it matter how high above the listing area these are mounted? Say if I wanted to mount the an inch below my 8’ ceiling?
I have 5.1 surround with these in back. Do I hook them up to the rear channel or side channels?
Youthman nice video as always, very nice klipsch surround speakers👌
Thanks. I think they look great as well.
Thy look way better than those old ones 👍
Are the RP502s over kill for the rear surrounds if I’m using the RP502s for the side surrounds? Room is only 12’x22’
Where did you place them? Between your 1st and 2nd rows? How high above ear level of the 2nd row...roughly? Also what kind of surround speakers do you have for the "rear-surrounds"? monopoles? Or are they dipoles too?
Very nice i want to get some i have very small rickter similar shape do theses have to be slightly in front of you or directly along side ?
ok so I'm looking to upgrade.. to Klipsch surround speakers that can be used as front height speakers.
I have a Monitor Audio Bronze 2 and Monitor audio Bronze Center, will be a good match with the Klipsch RP 502S? I hope you can help me
I'm planning on replacing my RS-52 II with these and just noticed that they went from 2x threaded inserts to a single one on the 502S. Do you think it will be enough to hold the weight?
Do you think it would be worth to upgrade from my Klipsch R-51M's for these? I will be adding them into my 7.2.4 ATMOS system.
Thanks!
Could I use the klipch r 600m for my surrounds mounted on the wall or are the 402 and 502s better
theres one problem with this speakers i cant use the banana plugs if im putting them flat on the wall ,so can i use a wall plate or should i use flat wires send me link to both thanks
What are your thoughts on these speakers so far?
New to the world of sound. Can I use these on top of my rp250f . Have some on a local deal my room isn't set up for the side mounting. How do u think it would sound .
I’m not sure there would be any benefit of placing them directly on top of your RP250F
@@Youthman ok what about the atmos upfiring speakers. Only thing is my ceiling is about 15ft high. Give or take a few inches.
Do you know of any speaker wall brackets that will support these speakers?
Thanks for another great review. I'm looking for something that has more high pitch sound not mid nor bass. In fact do you know of any surround sound speakers that consist of only tweeters or more tweeters than woofers?
My q acoustics 3030i bookshelve and 3030ci center are great but I'm missing that tweeters high pitch upper sound to match my sb3000.
Old video I know, but how would you advise placing these in a room where the seating is up against the back wall? Speakers right in the corner, with one driver facing inwards, and one pointing towards the centre of the room?
would you save some $$ by going the RP 402S ? is there a big difference to go the 502S model?
I picked up the Rp 502s today and they are great
What do you think, Yamaha RX- A3080 or what do you recommend for a home theater
I bought a package that had 4 of the RP-502s surrounds. I'm using two for the side channels and two for the rear channels. Is this a good speaker for the rear channel? I'm curious how to place them properly for the rear channel.
Do I stick them in the corner and the speakers will point directly down the rear and side wall, really not at any seating area directly, or do I put them flat against the rear wall in from the corners so they point into the room?
Any help would be appreciated
I recommend flat on rear wall, not in the corners. Take a look at my room tour to see how I have mine setup ua-cam.com/video/9rQxNd1Lf38/v-deo.html
Can this be mounted in a corner?
One love, One God, One way.
where do you connect these in the AVR? just surround or surround back?
If you have a 5.1, they would be your surrounds. If you have 7.1, you could use two pair, one for side surrounds and one pair for surround back.
- Turn the box upside down
- Open the box from the bottom
- Fold back flaps
- Carefully roll/turn the box over
- Slide the box up and off
(If the top polystyrene stays in the box be sure to check it for accesories/paperwork).
I actually just tried that in this video - ua-cam.com/video/8AC71O8n5zE/v-deo.html but I’m OCD and it went against everything inside me to open the box from the bottom LOL
😂😂😂 me too
Can you recommend a floor stand for those speakers? I am looking for my Klipsch-Reference-Premiere-RP-502S
Thank you.
Hi, I have never owned stands. Check out Super Dave’s channel. He has some nice stands in his theater. ua-cam.com/video/YQ6e30oMS1U/v-deo.html
Hi! How they compare to RP-402S? And are they better than RP-500M for surrounds? :)
Thanks !!
Hi Youthman, your videos are great. Can I use these Klich RP 502 as high front speakers? Thank you
I would recommend a direct radiating speaker for front heights as opposed to a wide dispersion speaker. Check out the RP-500SA
Thank you.
they look awesome...
I agree.
I know they are all very different but I invest for long term so don't want to make the wrong choice this is what I have right now B&W 702 S2's towers, B&W HTM71 S2 center, my rears are Wharfedale Diamond 220's and lastly I have dual Martin Logan Dynamo 800X subwoofers.
thanks if you can help me for now I'm leaning towards SVS ultra's or the Klipsch RP 502S's I'm just scared the cooper design is going to throw off the way my set-up looks.
for surrounds should i go with these or with 500m? i have a big space living room
Depends on which type of sound you want, wide dispersion or direct. With a larger room, I would think the 500m would be better for Atmos content.
@@Youthman yes i have a big living room but my listening position is standard. Can i send you a picture? i dont want to make a wrong choice..
Which surrounds did you end up going with. I'm thinking about getting r 600ms but since they are back ported and I have to wall mount don't know if that would be good our just the 502s

What is the sound difference between the RP-402s and the RP502s ???
I haven’t heard the 402s but likely not a massive difference
Awesome video Youthman!

Easiest solution...get a friend to help.
wow, they are absolutely gorgeous!
I like how they look as well
Youthman he meant you youthman 😉 haha
They is plural, You is singular.
Youthman it was a joke I really like your content it actually made me get into home theater. I just thought it would be a nice complement
Another dude saying I’m gorgeous wouldn’t be a compliment 😂
Looking better than svs 😎
Weight is for pair or each one is 16 lb?
How does it sound with atmos as Dolby doesn’t recommend these?
Why doesn’t Dolby recommend these?
@@MUFCXI Dolby Atmos is object based so it requires direct speakers for pin point accuracy. Bipolar speakers spread out the sound in both directions so the accuracy of the object sound is misplaced
Hi Mike, sorry but I which videos did you give you opinion/test about these RP-502S versus the RS-62 MK2 ?
Thanks for the answer!
Take care
Kris
Hi Kris. I did a final review here - ua-cam.com/video/BmTVu-9my9Q/v-deo.html but did not do a comparison between the two surrounds.
Do you think it would be worth replacing the surrounds by these RP-502S (and maybe the back as well by a second pair of 502S if they can fit into my "not that wide shelf" ....) 😃
Cheers
Kris
How do they hold up to the 62s? I want to buy some 52s or 62s but they seem impossible to find, so I’m “settling” on the 502s, but there isn’t one review that talks about how they perform.. help?
I felt they did very well in my setup. I rocked the 52’s for many years. The 62’s have a slightly larger sound but not night and day.
Can I add this to my 7.2.4 set up thanks
They would make great side or back surrounds
Do you think the 502s was a big step up from the 250s?
i want this but, what benefit of triangle shape? cause it's looks like one speaker didn't look like sound directly to my ears. i have dolby atmos avr. is it better use this speaker or use speaker directly to ears?
These are designed as Wide Dispersion speakers which means sound is not coming directly at your listening position.
Good video youthman the speakers look really nice I have a pair of RP 250s they definitely look nicer than the RP 250 S but do they sound any better?
Hey youthman love your channel. I have a question for you guys, I’ve got a 5.2.4 setup right now but looking to add surround back speakers to my system so what speakers would you recommend. I have the new denon x4700h receiver the speakers I have are the pioneer S-FS73A floorstanders plus the BS73A-LR for side surrounds and the SC73A for the centre channel. So my question is what surround back speakers would you recommend to match my system
I would get the matching Pioneer surrounds since that’s what you already have.
@@Youthman Really appreciate your reply! That makes sense. I'll go ahead and place the order then.
What’s the best mount to mount them on a ceiling at an angled bracket ?
@@Youthman got my speakers today and ended them mounting on keyholes like in your video - so finally got my 7.14 setup

Would angled banna plugs not work? There is always Spades I guess.
Not sure as there isn’t much space between the speaker and the rubber feet on the back of the speaker
You think that those surround speakers are a perfect match with my rf7ii ? Because for surrounds right now I have the rf35 , and they sit behind my sofa and don’t think they sound that good. Please let me know what I should do. Thanks!!!
Yes the a RP-502S will work well with the RF7 III. That’s the model Klipsch is recommending with them since they no longer make the RS-62 II
Youthman thank you!!!!
whats the best shelf speaker from klipsch ? and do they have good bass ? i want some for my room but am limited in space
Probably the RP-600M. There are tons of great reviews online about them
Wondering if you have any experience with the klipsch rb240sb's. They are on at london drugs for 449.49. Are they good speakers and is this a good price. I live in Canada
I am not familiar with that model
Can you place these on bookshelf ?
Of course.
The only negative is you might get some early reflections since the angled drivers will not be at the edge of the shelf,
Hey Youthman, you have any advice for mounting speakers to thin wood panels on top of plasterboard? I'm trying to save some money and DIY the speaker mount.
Oh man...unfortunately I’m probably not the best person to ask about DIY mounts. Anyone else have a recommendation for alexandsimba?
@@Youthman Not so much on the mount, but hanging things on different type of surfaces. My Main problem is that I can't find the stud on the wall. The thin wood planks make stud finders inconsistent, so I decided I would just mount it with plastic wall anchors. Do you have any recommendations like the one you used for your surrounds?
This is old home from the 1920s, so I assume they used plasterboard for the walls.
Nice 👍 video Youthman, what gauge speaker wire is in the wall ?
I have a pair but I can't figure out how you mounted these on the wall.. did you drill your own keyhole?
They have a keyhole mount on the back. You simply need to install a screw into a stud or use a toggle bolt in drywall

1 watt = 95dB
2 Watts = 98dB
4 Watts = 101dB
8 Watts = 104dB
16 Watts = 107dB
32 Watts = 110 dB
64 Watts = 113 dB
128 Watts = 116 dB
Take a look at this hearing loss chart goo.gl/images/d5JHGC
If you feed them 100 true Watts, you could listen to them for 15 sec before you start to have hearing loss.
God damnn these speakers are pretty I'm sold
Youthman can i use them as surrounds in atmos setup? or should i go with 600M?
For Atmos, I would look at the RP-500SA as they are aimed down towards your listening area unless you have a way of safely mounting the 600M to your ceiling
no i mean for surround in atmos not for modules.
@@Youthman my question is that in a 5.1.4 my surrounds better be 600M or 502s?
But where is the optimum place to put them in a room? I have 4...
Would you recommend using these rp 502s as back surround speaker instead of side surround? I was thinking of using these as back right back left surround speakers. @youthman
Yes, I use wide dispersion RS62 II for my surround back. It just depends on whether you want a more direct sound or a dispersed sound.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
I need that deal, 399 for the 502s. Let me know id you find that deal again please
@@codychavarria6088 It was at Frys Electronics, via the "email code" notification specials, I believe they still send out the Ads via email but I have not seen the same speakers go on sale again
Great video. Thinking about buying these used for $400. Question. These should be mounted center of the room on the sides or closer to the seating area. Also, how high. Should they be eye level while standing or while sitting.
This speaker layout will show you what angles you should place your surrounds. Ideally you want your tweeters close to ear height when sitting

Awesome thanks so much.
Also would these work well as possible surrsound rears? I heard using what the traditional speaker is a better option then bipoles or dipole.
Some use Wide dispersion with direct radiating for surround back while others like myself use Wide dispersion for both side and back surrounds.
@@Youthman alright, thanks for the info! I will think about which way to go
Kevin I too have my rear surrounds aimed at my front row using a custom mount I had made
as these are surround speakers.. I thought Dolby Atmos needs directional monopole speakers?
Atmos are above the height of your surrounds.
@@Youthman yes I know.. but are they Bipole or Dipole? I've monopole's set to face me.. Dolby Atmos recommend monopole speakers for surrounds.. Which is why I've JBL Control 1 Pro's as my Front height and surround speakers. Configured in Atmos. My main speakers are JBL Studio 1 series 130's as the stereo fronts and 120C centre speaker with a Klipsch Reference 100SW subwoofer.. I intend to go all Klipsch when funds allow.
@@Youthman a question for you.. as I've Atmos set up in a 13ft x 11ft room.. would floorstanders be too much? Or would booskshelf speakers on stands be better? I've seen the KLIPSCH R-51M speakers and they seem good what's you take on those speakers? I was considering reusing the JBL Control 1's as Front Heights.. I also want to get a Klipsch centre speaker too alsothe Klipsch surround speakers now are they ok on stands? I do have some surround sound speaker stands where the base plate is just above the back of my sofa. .. What's your view on that set up?
@@Youthman Like you I upgrade my speakers from time to time.. I recently got Klipsch RP-402S speakers.. So now my setup is: Klipsch RP 400M's front L&R, RP-404C centre, R-41SA ATMOS upfiring config on top of the 400M's,. Now got RP-402S surrounds to complete the setup.. I don't use a sub as I've neighbours above me.. My room is 3.9m x 3x6m a typical living room in the UK. So I set the speakers to Full Range (to compensate for lack of sub). The R-41SA is set to Small.. Oh and I moved home to a ground floor Flat (apartment).. The previous dimensions were at my last place.
Would these be OK as primary rear left and right channels or would Klipsch RP bookshelf speakers be better? Are these just meant to be side channels? Thanks loving the videos.
Thanks Jason. I’m using them currently as my side surrounds in a 7.2.4 setup and they sound great.
Some prefer wide dispersion as surrounds while others prefer direct radiating speakers. It’s merely a preference.
