I am so lucky , have found the .mp3 of this composition. I heard it on one Radio station and recorded it, I would listen to it frequently and never forget the emtotion it brought me. Today I remembered it and was so angry at myself that I haven saved it properly, so I could not find it, and it was like this for 5-6 years.
Then I started thinking very hard where could I have saved it I knew I had it but I didnt know where to look.
THen i tried findinf it on a specific hard drive, where I moved some music from my lap top, and there it was . A net station radio recordings , and indside was 10 untitled songs, With first being 4 am by you Sir Pierre. I cannot thank the Lord enough for allowing me to hear this composition again, I cried my eyes out from joy, this composition is so beautifull and important, art really will save the world.. THank you Pierre Bensusan, for writing this masterpiece thank you for sending this emotion trough music, thank you sir, !
Thank you for your very kind and warm comment, it makes my day!
to me there is no greater beauty than seeing fellow humans become one with their instruments
Thank you so uch!
I don't know why but this song puts me back to an essence of solitude focusing on my own mortality and the presence of living in the moment. thank you so much Mr. Bensusan
Thank you for this heartfelt comment!
BEAUTIFUL BEAUTIFUL MY BROTHER ❤
Thank you!!!
After all these years, am rediscovering the genius of Pierre Bensusan. Great music never dies.
Pierre is one of the best at expressing the inexpressible.
The most humble, artistic, kind and caring genius that just happens to play guitar and sing. Thank You Pierre for the music.
Thank you for these kind words and your listening!
I didn't know he can sing so well! blown away by his talent.
It takes a special skill to sing and fingerpick such a complicated song at the same time
i wanna cry :´( so beautiful
Toujours un plaisir de vous écouter et ce depuis .......
4 am is some improvised every time Pierre plays. That's why it fascinates me.

I was just wondering about this, that is so cool!
I love all the versions of this piece; pure spirit ! and Pierre plays his music with total union with his instrument ....leaves me speechless, Pierre your music soothes my tormented soul :-)
Pure heaven!
Completely blown away by that. His singing really complements the wonderful sound of his guitar.
Exquisitely beautiful ✨🙏✨
Fantastic. I had the cassette "Spices", bought 2, and they got lost in a move! Know it was on CBS, will search for it 'til I die. I could listen to his inimitable style forever! Would love to see him in person! Breathtaking. Simply breathtaking!
elaine mullen Aren’t all his CD’s available? To start on his site.
Un reel plaisir d'ecouter cette interpretation de 4am... magnifique.

YES!! FARK YES!!! BRING THE HEAT!!!!
I just found out this was Bensusan's song. How could I have missed these versions all this time? I am familiar with a version by Trapezoid on their Moon Run album. They did a great job of capturing the emotion in this song. The entire album is excellent, but I am very glad to hear Pierre perform this one. It's his after all and no one does it better.
This is one of my all-time favorite Pierre pieces! Although it has lovely lyrics as the song "La Nuit Des Météores" (written by Pierre's wife Doatea) I love it most as an instrumental. It's not terribly difficult to play but it needs a lot of improvisation to do it justice, and nobody can do that like Pierre.
Beautiful!
Still played with the "Old Lady"!! This was the first song I learned from Pierre. Without the singing.....I can't sing like him.
The first sonf of PB's I heard: a live recording at Berkeley (?) ... when his vocals came in I cried. I saw him a few weeks latrer at the Half Moon Putney and told him: He played it dedicating it too. I cried again.
@Karl61290 He also made a song with this music - I don't know wich was first - called "La Nuit des météores". Beautiful !
sublime!
I missed him in Mill Valley...bummer.
Me gusta escucharla a las 4:00 a.m. precisamente...
beautifull
very nice
Very nice. The tune clearly borrows closely from the Celtic traditional tune Sh'beg An Sh'more (The Big and the Little Hill). Many phrases are taken in their entirety. A nice adaptation with variations in Bensusan's inimitable style.
On the original spice album was a fabulous si big si small ....where is it now?
Tres bonne j'aime plus cette chanson de guitarre JOLIE merci Pierre
this has to be the greatest tune of all time. thank you lord for shining your light through pierre..
it's outstanding, no doubt! But L'Alchimiste is THE greatest tune of all time. Period. :-) ua-cam.com/video/S1dfg3uAWv4/v-deo.html

2分钟的时候,听得起了鸡皮疙瘩
老铁好
4分钟的时候
描写的感觉气质,有点中国风的味道,茉莉花一类的江浙小调
There are many fingerstyle guitarists, but there is only one PB.
