- The French DADGAD master talks about practicing scales and some of his right-hand techniques during an impromptu July 2013 interview with Barry Cleveland.
one of the greatest musicians of all time.
I don't think I'd ever tire of hearing him noodle away on his guitar - what an inspiration.
I was lucky enough to attend a workshop with Pierre in the Blue Mountains near Sydney, Australia a couple of years ago. I am still inspired and amazed by his technique, his compositions and his beautiful playing...
I'm still practicing to practice like this.....
Chih-Sheng Cheng hahahaha!
Like a glass of good wine. The good taste stays in you. Thank you sir.
Pierre is my favorite guitarist, ever... so unique.... that right hand stuff he does, very, very difficult..
Got to hang out with Pierre a bit last week after a show of his in Virginia! What a treat to talk about red wines with the Maestro!! I first saw him perform back in 1982 and his playing is better than ever. By the end of the show, my face was sore from smiling so much.
its like his guitar does most of the talking for him..... he even answers questions with his guitar
You haven't see him answer the phone....with his guitar yet !!!
I heard he just holds it above his head with malevolent intent and smashes it down on the handset.
Just watching this master is a joy.
never herd this guy before, i'm abit more than impressed! class act. i just got a lowden and started looking through vids.. Man i honestly never thought an acoustic sound sooo F**kn glorious!!!
Steven Sinnamon I know eh? I just up a couple taylors and a quad pack of lowdons and im ready to learn
kal Desjarlais LOL!
One can learn so much just in the first 2 minutes of this video.
known pierre since we first met as main line guests (Foggy) on the Cambridge folk festival 1980..also compered for him ..great style and very different and nice guy .. met in Sheffield recently and Ashton U Lyne .still impresses me .. still has the passion .. stay well old friend GDC.
The town I loved so well❤️
love the ending! La maison est près d'une route, on dirait en plus près d'un aéroport. Ah, ces voyageurs
Love this guy. Fantastic player. Nice guitar too.
The way to go ♡
He is just a wonderful player he knows the fretboard so well ..
😮😮
this is what i want to be able to play
Pure inspiration, thanks
Unbelievable musician. I'm listening to Intuite, a fantastic record. He's very unique too.
-So, do you do scales?
-Not much, every now and then
*starts playing scales for 5 minutes nonstop without being asked to do so*
Yet somehow he sounds more like music than just running scales.
Typical french way of seeing things...
Thank you Fred!
As always happens, I watch one bensusan video, my mouth falls open. I mostly stop breathing - I flow from one to another, rewards and rematch----two hours later...
What the hell were those jazz chords right at the end? They sound quite extraordinary!
I like how he does the harmonics with his index and ring finger instead of index and thumb
Beautiful! Very good!
Fantastic!
A wonderfull guitar player.
... And....watching again... and....
That damn bike!!! lol I WAS TRYING TO HEAR HIS CHETSTYLE SHIT!!
Lowden guitars sound awesome
One word. Wow!
It's a Lowden Pierre Bensusan Signature :)
Amazing that behind every six string is the possibility for this beauty.
I find it funny when Pierre stares you down while he plays a passage. It is like he is saying something, and his eyes and facial expression show it, but he is playing and instrument. Just funny.
We are taught that in guitar school. It’s call the stare.
holy crap- what did I just see
COULDN'T YOU MAKE THAT JET AIRLINER WAIT UNTIL AFTER THE INTERVIEW?!?
Cool!
You actually see him leave his body around 46 seconds.
Oh how I hate terrace recordings... Wasn't there a nice sofa in some of the rooms inside...? While being there, they could have recorded it next to a blasting furnace in a foundry
Great clip! What model acoustic is Pierre playing here?
GrumpyMJK
It's a Lowden F series cutaway. Incredible instruments
@@TheDazmatron I think it's his Lowden Pierre Bensusan signature

I can't find my picks either, or keep dropping them
Stephen Williams well I'd rather play than search for that dam pick I lost again. LoL
i love you
Pierre exudes alot of Bach in his passages
Dose piere anchor his pinky ? I'm seeing alot of players like Andy McKee do it
No, he doesn't anchor as he feels it limits the motion of his ringfinger. I used to anchor, until he told me not to - it took a while, but i adapted.
ZeGypsy I think I will follow and not anchor. Feels werid with my pinky attached to the soundboard
สวัสดีครับอาจารย์
Everything become music...
God loves motorcycles
Should have gone inside. Terrible sound quality.
So bad to live near an airport!!...specialy for a musician!!...
Play with a damned pick already
Pin of shame! 😂
