In this mini master class, Bensusan, who specializes in DADGAD tuning, shows you some secrets behind his approach, plus some exercises that will help you become familiar with the DADGAD fretboard inside and out, while giving your fretting fingers a good stretch.
So beautiful. I remember reading about Pierre in Frets magazine when his career was just getting started. He was still a teenager. Amazing then, and amazing now.
A wonderful performance full of positives and that is all you can find to say @kennethgardzinski????? This is almost the perfect example of trolling I thnk? But as I'm sure you know? Playing in DADGAD tuning with any amount of dynamics will likely result in some "buzz" due to lower string tension. It's a trade off.....beautiful overtones for a small buzz once in a while.
"Buzz" in DADGAD is usually compensated with string gauge... I think Pierre uses some kind of custom gauges 13s for "undertuned" strings. But yes, by default if you put standard gauges on guitar and tune it down to DADGAD, it might buzz. But sometimes Pierre does this "buzz" on purpose in a "slap" way. 🙂
Thank you for the reply. I've never tried using heavier gauge for the.detuned strings but I occasionally compromise by tuning DADGAG up a semitone. That seems to help a bit as well.
Compared to all the DADGAD guys out there slapping their guitars like bongos, Pierre Bensusan doesn't even sound like he's playing in DAGAD unless he wants it to sound that way.

Been a big Pierre fan for decades - he's up there with the best
It's probably been said before but Pierre's right hand looks filled with joy as he plays.
