  • Everyone has some hot takes out there, (including me) but also you! I asked what some of your most out-there Pokémon opinions might be, and while some of them were relatively inoffensive others were quite shocking! So let's look through and see some of your most unpopular beliefs when it comes to our favorite media juggernaut!

I really need to question Pokemon fans media literacy if people

  • @andrewkatz6649

I wholeheartedly agree on Greninja. It is just like Charizard, getting all the cool and unnecessary gadgets it never needed in the first place.

Convergent evolution and regional "variants" are two phenomena in biology and are completely different from each other. A convergent animal develops similar traits to another species, while a regional variant is that same animal adapting to a different environment.

I liked that Black and White forced you to use new Pokémon. In fact, I've only used new Pokémon since Sun and Moon. And by only new Pokémon, I mean fully new Pokémon, so no regional forms or regional evolutions. The only exceptions were BDSP and Legends Arceus. I only used gen 4 Pokémon for BDSP, excluding new evolutions like Roserade or Gallade, and I only used Hisuian forms and Hisuian evolutions for Legends Arceus since those are technically the "newest" Pokémon in that game.

My hot take: "No you are not allowed to like this pokemon" is an incredibly weird thing to say. Let people enjoy Greninja

  • @jpcsdutra

Every fandom I'm in does these "unpopular/controversial opinions" things, and while some actually get me upset or get me to share my unpopular opinions, Pokémon is just a funny point out of the curve in that regard.

    My Pokemon hot take:

  • @jmurray1110

Another thing about the DLC issues is that especially with the sword and shield DLC the base game wasn’t altered the sane way a third version allows

  • @christopherbennett5858

Okay, I have a few hot takes.

  • @theknightwithabadpictotall7639

Here's my hot take: Pokéstar Studios is actually a really good feature and its tutorial taking like 5 minutes of your playtime is a WAY smaller issue than everyone makes it out to be

    I have a hot take:

  • @TunaBear64

And they really wanted for Greninja to be a fan favorite no matter the cost.

  • @IzzyItachi

I hope this becomes a series!

I like the idea of DLCs, assuming that the base game isn’t buggy and needs the DLCs to patch the bugs. Assuming the base game is already complete, I think adding a new adventure at the end for me to go on with the Pokémon I’ve already gotten attached to is really fun, and I don’t need to restart from the beginning like I would with a third game

My Hot Take:Pokemon Fans treat the Monster Taming Genre like crap and use buzzwords like:"pOkEmOn cLoNe" When a lot of them r made by passionate fans of Pokemon. Plus did u know Shin Megami Tensei was the first Monster Taming Game before Pokemon exists.

    My Hot Takes:

  • @saucymongoose7246

My first hot takes is that Pokemon fans need to stop complaining about the different ways people want to play the games. Some people want to play with shift or set mode, some people want to do a nuzlockez, some want to have Exp Share off/on, some people want to grind, etc. For example, I to be able to turn Exp Share off, and I'm immediately hit with "Why do you like grinding for HOURS?!" Why do assume that I'm grinding, let alone for hours? I just don't want to be overleveled or be forced to switch my team up after every route. Plus, I like being able to replay games with different teams. I've used multiple party members while playing Let's Go, Shield, Legends, and Violet on my first playthrough, and so I've used or caught most of the Pokemon in the game already. There's no incentive for me to replay these games because I already used all the new Pokemon.

I get what you're saying about megas, but the relative exclusiveness is what made it sting so much to lose. It felt like if they gave a pokemon you like an evolution so that it wouldn't suck anymore, but then took it away after acting like it was going to persist (given that it spanned at least two gens iirc?).
