Landerous is NOT an answer to incineroar. If that were the case, WAY more teams would be using landerous-t. Landerous simply struggles being as useful and consistent as incin which is why he’s practically outclassed most of the time barring a generational gimmick (like dynamax or z-moves)

It can't be understated the stranglehold togekiss had on early gen 8 VGC. It was a mon that could genuinely do anything and everything you needed it to do for your team, and the opponent had to guess the set from closed team sheets. The amount of tech moves and specific EV spreads you could slap on it to surprise your opponent were wild not to even discount the dominance of the standard sets. (PS. Surprised Amoongus wasn't anywhere in this video. Probably the single most consistently important VGC mons of all time, since I can't think of a single format where it wasn't an incredibly important consideration in the teambuilder, but it probably doesn't have the peaks of others due to well defined counterplay like safety goggles and terrains and such)

That's what I feel people don't understand when they say "everyone uses the same pokemon!" Yeah, they're using the same one, but not always in the same way Like take 10 Flutter Manes from the top spots, and it's likely like 6-7 of those have completely unique sets. There's a reason why these pokemon are used so much. Not just because they're strong, but because they're so malleable and capable of being on almost any style of team.

Whimsicott is great if it fits on your team, but it's fragile and fairly lacking in offensive pressure, so it doesn't slot as easily onto any old team as some of these other mons

I never play competitive Pokemon at all, so I was actually surprised when I started watching your videos and discovered that my favorite pokemon is so good in VGC. I'll accept it being beaten out by Togekiss because I love it too.
1st of all, I'm surprised and impressed but yet still irritated that Urshifu only got cliffnotes! I've heard how massive its signature ability was after its release and even to current day. And then we have the craziest fact of the whole video, Togekiss running super luck over serene grace as it's more common ability! This fact absolutely astounded me when I saw that!!
Fun fact, recently I was on a discord call with a friend building a team, and he dropped Incineroar from it in favor of Galarian Moltres. And it was optimal, possibly the first case of removing Incineroar from a team being a good thing.
The Togepi line got off to a rough start, but what a reward the final result got especially in VGC play, as shown in eclipsing the Blaziken of VGC. Speaking of it, it's time the line gets a remake or perhaps a How Good are Togetic & Togekiss Now vid soon
"Mr. Swipe, this incineroar is different! This blaze version with lariat and revenge is in never-before seen (in competitive) condition. Making it highly collectable! >:]" -probably sheen
In terms of usage, lando-T is probably the most used Pokemon in any serious/competitive format, whether in doubles or singles. although he has fallen off a bit due to competition from incineroar or gen 9 power-creep
The first meta of a gen tends to be better than later ones due to less powercreep and centralization so it makes sense. Except 2017 because of the tapus (and maybe 2011 due to the lack of options) but the others are solid.
Most of the moves it used didn't have all that great of secondary effects. Flinching with Air Slash is nice but Dynamax mons are immune to flinches so it wasn't impactful in the most important dynamic. Dazzling Gleam was its most common offensive move and it doesn't benefit from Serene Grace at all whereas a 12.5/50% (depending on held item) crit chance can easily be game changing Edit: Also Serene Grace has no effect when Dynamaxed yourself since every secondary effect is 100% on max moves anyways, but Super Luck helps to score crits on them
I normally like to play a niche party in showdown. It makes it more fun and engaging. At the end of the day: it’s just a game and we’re all having fun :)

I had a bit of struggle to make a coherent and armonic team, and I want to know what are the options that don't require a Legendary. It would be good for us who make teams for Battle Trees or Battle facilities.
@thanksgivingh6185 unfortunately not, the teams from the trainers are properly set with Items and different strategies like weather, intimidate users, terrains and Prankster users too, but besides that it's not that challenging. I just like making competitive Pokémon teams that don't rely on an overpower Legendary/Ultra Beast/Paradox form. Also, Drayden of the Elite Four in the Blueberry Academy asks you to only use Pokémon caught in the Terrarium.
