Right. There's plenty of roguelikes/lites that come out per year too. Like I don't like top-down click games like Diablo etc... I don't get upset if one comes out, I just don't play it lmao.
Souls genre is a sub-sub-genre of action-rpg, so comparing it to the broader genres doesn't make much sense. And as a fan, the souls genre is very crowded, so unless a game does something different or unique, or just does everything exceptionally well (which is to be seen for this one), it is hard to give it time or consideration. I have played the demo, and so far, it doesn't seem like anything I would like to spend time with.
Some gamers like easy games and don't like dying in games or any sort of challenge. So, they avoid soulslikes, and when they see one they actively root against it so that the industry stops making them
I’m very much reminded of Code Vein and I adored that game despite its flaws. However where this game differs from that and other Souls clones is the lack of the dreaded stamina bar. Not exactly full Devil May Cry combat but not having to deal with that annoyance is still a plus in my book. However I hope the character creator (if it exists) is on a similar level as Code Vein. Where I am concerned however is with regard to this “sync” mechanic because it reminds me very heavily of how God of War Ascension did its combat, and I really didn’t like how that game played at all.

Soulslike games often use stamina and that was always extremely annoying and made it almost impossible to move, fight and dodge… and that’s why I am so glad this game appears to not have a stamina limit 🥲 over the moon with that release of burden

I wasted a lot of money on games to find out that I can’t finish one from beginning to end unless it’s a soulslike. I believe it’s because soulslikes are what a video game should be, other games are just pressing buttons until the next dialogue or main story cutscene. And if it’s not a story driven game, then it’s just a game with repetition that gives rewards or cosmetic items for playing longer periods of time.

The motion of the combat looks good (glad it's not like DS3). The environment has a consistent ascetic. The map design is bit bland but not bad. The main character shouldn't say unnecessary lines. Overall I think the vision of this game is promising. It looks more soulslike then Code Vein.

Heavy attack dorsnt stop enemy movement, heavy attack freezes the character in place, locks them into an animation thry cant get out of and it the windup/chsrge can be interrupted by any attack? I think why ppl hate on soulslike new games it's not b/c it's got too many of them. It's most likely b/c it's a niche genre only popularized by Souls games but it doesn't change the fact that it still remained a niche genre.
That’s the best part imo, I love level designs like this, it really makes me feel like I have an objective and fills me with curiosity on what’s ahead. Games with much open space and with too many points of interests actually drive me away from the game.

Loved the Demo; especially since CODE VEIN is my favorite Soulslike game to date, but there are definitely some things that need to be fixed on the PS5 Version. I’ll say though that it’s a game that I will definitely purchase. 🤘
I'll be honest, part of me likes the look, but as far as animesouls goes, I'd really rather just play Code Vein. Looks better, plays better, moves better, a bunch of options for builds, etc.
@@barofsoap6048 timings on parries and dodges are about 1/10 of a second, the enemies were designed more with theming in mind over actually being fun to fight (their animations are really stiff and awkward and it's disorienting to try and time parries and dodges), overall boss quality leaves something to be desired, and it's just generally unenjoyable.

After Stellar Blade, I expect a lot more speed and style from a game like this. I hope AI Limit finds its audience, but it looks too slow for me. Not nearly enough enemy variety either.
I can't "feel" the blows/thrust. They seem to have very little impact, I would like it if the developers would at least add a sort of slowed-down impact frame for charged attacks to make the hit feel better. The same goes for our enemies, who could be cut in half during the death blow, which would be a much greater sense of power. Am I the only one who thinks it could be much better?
Personally. I will never tire of souls like games and will happily keep buying any and every one I come across.

I was hoping it would be more like Nier than souls clunky slow combat with stiff animation.
The ambience sound is annoying as hell.
I tried the demo.
Ps3 gameplay with ps4 graphics and physics. Immediately uninstalled. Was so disappointed.

I can't "feel" the blows/thrust.
They seem to have very little impact, I would like it if the developers would at least add a sort of slowed-down impact frame for charged attacks to make the hit feel better.
The same goes for our enemies, who could be cut in half during the death blow, which would be a much greater sense of power.
Am I the only one who thinks it could be much better?
