When I first saw the Risen I was absolutely in LOVE! Now with the newer, 915 engine the speed is AMAZING! That is by far one of the most gorgeous light aircraft around.
@GrantOakes. Hi Grant. I agree. Pretty exciting. Bob’s the kinda guy who does a bunch of research before he buys.
not only does it look amazing, but did i read it right that it's like 45 nm to the gallon? that's pretty amazing
@josephlarsen Yeah. Up high, between 30-45. Incredible. I just flew my 185 up to Idaho last weekend, I think I got as high as 9.5. Of course I was hauling a lot of camping gear, my son and his dog, food, guns, etc . We burned 160 gallons flying around Idaho. I’m feeling kinda wasteful!
@@WheelsInTheSky that's awesome. I'm in Lehi Utah and would use one to fly up to Idaho regularly. That'd be a much cooler trip than a car any day :)
@josephlarsen. Yes, much more enjoyable and faster. I think you could even land at Johnson Creek. It’s nice smooth grass.
Wheels must have one of the most calming voices on UA-cam. Just perfect for story telling.
@jingle1161. Thanks jingle !
Best "advertisement" I've seen for a Risen, yet! Very slick aircraft.
@cases2939. Thanks. It was a lot of fun. I think Bob wants to do another, concentrating on performance and cool views of Utah.
In the process of finishing my licence & just made an order for Risen! That's one big decision out of the way :)
Had a chance to fly with Alberto in Italy earlier this year, couldn't get it out of my head ever since...
@RobbieKiama. Congratulations Robbie !! I’m sure you’re going to enjoy it !
Awesome!
Great review with such unusually good aerial photography!
@mikestirewalt5193. Thanks. I really appreciate that! Always fun to fly next to a different plane.
I like that it has decent wing loading and relatively high gust penetration speed.
@rnordquest. Sounds like you’ve been studying up on the Risen. You thinking of getting one?
That's an impressive amount of flap extension!
@CraigVanSickleAK. Yeah, lots of cool things about that plane.
Really enjoyed the video. You have a great voice for narratives. Very pleasant to listen to. Content was very informative. We neen more of these in the US. I think there is definitely a place for them. Thank you.
@garyprince7309. Hi Gary, thank you. I think we’ll see more of them in the US, now that the FAA just changed the rules for LSA aircraft.
I totally agree with Gary.
@koenjansen2264. Thanks Koen !
That is one slick looking airplane!😍
@danielullfig6933. Hi Daniel. Yes, amazing the speed it gets with just a Rotax. After buying a plane, your biggest expense might be fuel. But this one just sips a little gas.
A wish list of aviation design!
@reedreamer9518. Yeah, I know my list is getting pretty long!
These people are what make America so Great! I Love the Risen 915. A sleek bird, with state of the art technology for its class. Great video. Loved the fast track camera action at 2:28 . Great video, great planes, great pilots and great people. A thumbs up from me.
@PixelatedExistence. Thanks for checking in and for the comments. It’s a cool plane and was fun videoing it.
The skill of people like this just amazes me. Wow!
@davenc8527. Hey Dave, thanks. Glad to hear you enjoyed it.
Stunning aeroplane, great footage and interview, loved biggles the dog too👍✌️💜😊
@musoseven8218. Thank you very much. Couldn’t pass up a chance to include their dog!
Thank you for showing the risen. And great flying as usual!!
@ronuyeyama4020. You’re very welcome and thank you! That was a fun plane to video.
Those are crazy stall/cruise speeds! Seems like a great cross country machine.
@studiobdj. Yeah, it’s nice to see some innovation. Hope to see some exciting planes built in the US in the next few years.
Great video, loving the scenery without having to buy a $1000 ticket!
@mikebreen2890. Thanks. My buddy and I when out flying the day before to scope out the best place to do the video. That was fun!
Nice, very fast and very efficent. Best ultralight for this century.
@Dzordzikk. Yes, I agree. Very cool plane!
I've been researching the Risen and I'm glad I found your video. Thanks for putting together so much great info. Also, fun watching you fly your airplane!
@TaftLove. You’re very welcome. Always fun flying next to different planes.
If you get interested in talking to Bob about his plane, let me know, I’ll give you his number. I believe he’s the Risen contact here in the US.
Beautiful plane, and always liked the V tail design.. The skill of people like this just amazes me. Wow!.
@user-jd3rp9ps9k. Yep, beautiful plane. Ever since doing this video, it’s got me looking around, maybe I need a different plane. Maybe just more planes!!
Beautiful craft. Smooth, relaxed narration.
@StevenBanks123. Thanks Steven. It’s always fun to fly next to different planes.
Great video, I had the privilege of meeting Bob last week and checking out the plane! Great guy and cool plane!
@Brettlangford. Nice to meet you Brett. I’ll tell Bob I met you. He lives just down the street. Yes, it’s a cool plane. The more I look at it, the more I want one.
Of course, I want nearly every plane I see!
Beautiful plane, and always liked the V tail design.
@simonlangmead7. Yeah it’s a cool look.
Thanks for sharing. That is one awesome plane.
@malakov5. You’re welcome. I had fun doing the video.
Great design, a 22:1 glide ratio WOW
@CharlesJoostNewbery. Yes, amazing. They’ve got a hanger here in Utah now, where they assemble the Risen .
That's an awesome plane. Thanks for the video.
@371stone. You’re very welcome. It was a pretty cool plane.
great group , great plane , great video love these types. thank you
@jasonmichaelfarrant7807. Thanks Jason. I appreciate your comments- gives me the motivation to do another. I hope to do a video on the new AirCam my buddy just got!
I have absolutely fallen in love with your Risen plane. I also own a 2018 Honda Goldwing, GL 1800 DCT which a good friend of mine converted into a trike, and I must say, it’s one of a kind in the United States, and in Europe for that matter. Your Risen has such great lines, and it looks very sporty and it must be a fun plane to fly just what I’ve been looking for for many many years, I pray that one day I’ll be able to get one.
@geraldaponte7049. Yes, it sure is a pretty plane, and amazing the speed on such a low fuel burn. Bob loves his so much, he’s now a sales rep here in the states.
Those Goldwings are such great bikes. I’ve loved them ever since they came out in the 70’s. I’m on my third one, it’s a 2007. Thanks for checking in.
That is a very impressive plane...
@Kmg501. Yes, I like the idea of cutting my fuel bill in half.
whoever is making this smooth video deserves the praise.
@Mirpurmad. Thank you. Appreciate the comment.
Killer job on the video and the narration!
@tomcoryell. Thanks Tom, I really appreciated that!
Well done Chris as always!
@flythatchercx-4575. Good to hear from you Flythatcher. Thank you very much.
Loved the plane, the video and your voice! ☺
@lalehbryanskrenes5692. Thanks, appreciate that.
Well done Gents.
Nice Bird
The narrative was meaningful and too the point.
@kowkunt8710. Thanks. Appreciate that.
Masterful storytelling!
@sierraharrop. Thank you Sierra !!
Superb quality content. That’s a smooth voiceover too. Hi form the east of 🇬🇧
@JohnParker1967. Thanks you very much John. Good to hear from you!
My god such an amazing little plane well made video thank you
@romanomorelli2831. Thank you. I had a good time doing it.
Just found your channel and subscribed. Outstanding content and videography.
@Richard-iu9sf. Thanks Richard. Appreciate you checking in. Glad to have you watching!!
Brilliant video. What a cool little plane. You make a great video, 'Wheels in the Sky'.
@socrates112. Thanks, I appreciate the compliment.
Wow! Now I am so wanting one of these.
@Friedbrain11. Hey Robert. Yeah, the more I look at it, the more I want one! I sure wasn’t expecting that kind of performance! Let me know if you want to get in touch with Bob, I believe he’s handling orders in the U.S.
Definitely earned my subscription👍👍
@trainsplanesandautomobiles2547. Thank you! Welcome aboard.
Thanks for that video. Love your voice.
@lalehbryanskrenes5692. You’re very welcome and thank you for the kind comments.
What a beautiful plane
@rickypalomares9786 It sure is!!
I need this. Gorgeous.
@garyeaker3729. Hey Gary, I have the same problem. I want nearly every plane I see!
What a cool airplane and video.
@mikebulmanski6211. Hey Bull, thanks. Good to hear from you. How’s retirement been treating you?
@@WheelsInTheSky Awesome so far, planning on doing a lot of motorcycle riding and fly fishing.
This is an incredible aircraft! Definitely a dream purchase for me
@keatonhare7691. Yeah, I really like it to. Looking forward to learning more about the Risen. I really like how efficient it is.
@@WheelsInTheSky Please add into next video some height/speed/fuel data, with this engine. Thx.
@@Dzordzikk You bet. I know Bob would like to do another video of his Risen. I’ll be sure to add in some numbers on performance. Thanks for your input.
Y'all are fantastic pilots, great footage too, wow!
You got a new sub. Keep it up!
This fellow really knows his stuff. Love the technical details, you can tell he read the pilots manual and probably the maintenance manual also.
@jj4791. Thank you. Welcome aboard !!
@jj4791. Yes, Bob is a detail guy.
Very interesting aircraft indeed
@timmartin6410. Hi Tim, yes it is. When I see planes like this, it gets me excited to go to Oshkosh ! I’ll be heading there next week. I was talking to Alberto, the designer of the Risen, he hopes to set up a booth at Oshkosh in 2024.
Wow, very nice bird!
@birdseyedroneimagingllc3033. Hey Art, good to hear from you!
I really enjoy your UA-cams!!!
@davidpeters5362. Thank you David. Knowing people enjoy them, gives me the motivation to continue!
Fantastic!
@CellCoachCom. Hi thanks. Pretty cool plane. Here in a few weeks we’re going to try doing some more video. Should be real fun.
Great video, excellent photography
@geofftefl. Thank you very much !!
@@WheelsInTheSky interesting narration too
@geofftefl. Thanks!
Sweet aircraft and great video!
I fly out of BTF, awesome to see local aviation content alongside Patey's
@TheComputertechie. Hi. Great to hear from fellow SkyParkers. I’m on the East side in the 6-plex, #E, 2 buildings north of taxi way Alpha 4. Stop by anytime!
@@WheelsInTheSky Will do, thank you! I'm still just a renter but I'll make my way across the field to say hi as soon as I can, hopefully some serendipity happens and it's the same time you're around
Beautiful MODEL..
@eddysanta1213. Yes indeed!
Wow.bravo.thenks
@pilotmiami1. You’re very welcome. I had a great time doing the video!
Cool bird.🎉
@Workerbee-zy5nx. Yes, kinda makes you want one. Thanks for checking in!
this is my dream plane. looks like a fighter jet that is easy to maintain, has the range to go anywhere in the USA direct pretty much.
@bbsara0146. Yep. It’s a dream plane.
Can't wait to see the new 916 Equipped Risen at Oshkosh.
@garretwill5839. Yeah, me to. Alberto has already brought it over to the states. Non-stop flight. It’s sitting in a hanger at Appleton, waiting for Oshkosh. I’m hoping after Oshkosh, he’ll bring it out here for a video.
I’m putting the engine back in my Rocket right now. Hope to be ready to fly to Oshkosh. See you there.
@@WheelsInTheSky
I see you talking about potentially fitting bigger tires on these for rougher takeoffs/landings. Did Bob ever get back to you? What size of tire can you get on them?
@garrettwilt5839 Hi Will, I just talked to Bob. He says he’s got the smaller tires and the new Risen’s have, or can be fitted with bigger tires for grass strips. He was driving and said he’ll text me shortly with the size of those bigger tires. I’ll make a note to check back with you.
Great content brother
@BCHonea. Thanks. Appreciate that!!
Very cool.
@antoinehanekom4689. Yes, nice to see something new. I wish we had some new thinking here in the US.
It’s beautiful inside and out, I’d like one! We can’t even do LPV approaches in my airline’s airbus 330.
@mikeyriley8959. It’s amazing, the avionics in some general aviation planes. I’m love having the garmin g3x.
I definitely want one!
@joearnold1843. Hey Joe. I’ve often thought that’s half the battle-knowing what you want. I hope you get one!! Keep me informed. I’d love to hear how it goes.
Bob set it up!! Wow
@NotAsTraceable. Yeah he likes his instruments!!
Lovely
@farhanfouadacca. Amazing isn’t it.
You have a very calming voice.
@Zendean5207. Hi Zen. Thanks.
Que aeronave linda!
@Quelemem. It sure is !!
That's a piece of art work, so beautiful. I want t fly it, or at the very least I want to be a passenger. I'm a very experience hang glider pilot and I love these little light aircraft.
@kalbic. Yeah it sure is sleek. Amazing speed while just sipping the fuel!!
Bob's plane is pretty awesome. He sure seems like a pretty cool dude. But I bet he's not aerobatic like your rocket. Always great to see a new video from the wings channel. 😊
Sorry. Wheels chanel 😅
@reckemroysrc3764 Good to hear from you ReckemRoy. As I recall, his plane capable of some pretty impressive g”s. It’s not aerobatic, but we barrel rolled it several times.
@@WheelsInTheSky I would really enjoy a ride in it. Smoke. On. Buddy
@reckemroysrc3764. Yeah I sure enjoyed my flight. I met the designer of the plane last night-Alberto Porto.
Amazing machine
@Conradsenior5843. It sure is! All this looking at it while doing this video, is making me want one!
Wish I was with you guys!!
@jabixl. Yes, the more the better! With that high wing, you should meet us up in Idaho. We just got back last week after flying around to a lot of the backcountry airstrips. It was awesome!
Very nice presentation.
@J2onton. Thank you. Had fun doing it !!
@@WheelsInTheSky Cheers from the UK.
@J2onton. Always good to hear from the UK !!
thanks.
@tomwaltermayer2702. You’re very welcome. I had to post it, it was such a cool plane. Of course it’s always fun flying next to different planes.
Great job on your videos. The Risen is an awesome airplane for the Speed vs fuel economy and landing distance. Would love to see what the 916 will yield out of her. Would love to go flying with you sometime with my Patey built 720 Legacy🤙 I’m out of Spanish Fork. Cheers.
@KyleMoses. Thanks Kyle. I’m thinking the same, eager to see the performance of the 916. That would be great, love to see your legacy. I’m down that way fairly often. They’ll be a small group of us doing a parade flyover this 24th, then we land there and they give us gas. Lol. “Will work for gas”. I don’t know if you’ll be at the airport that day, if not, I’m there often.
@@WheelsInTheSky sounds good my friend
That would be classed as a microlight in the UK. And prised among the current high performance aircraft. Love the video. Great flying and awesome views. A very relaxing narration.
@Simon Clarke. Thanks. It’s going to be interesting to watch the Light Sport category here in the US, now that the rules are changing.
@@WheelsInTheSkywhat changes are coming?
@CotyKelly. the FAA’s recently released Modernization of Special Airworthiness Certification (MOSAIC) proposal for changes to LSA. You can google it for an interesting read.
@@CotyWK The basics are increased weight limit to 3000 lbs, increased stall speed to 54 knots, retractable gear allowed, controllable pitch props allowed, and a speed limit of 250 knots.
@@MarkRose1337 would that not cover most personal two seaters? A cessna 172 is under 2,000lbs.
Purdy for sure💜🌷☮️
@Shannonnickoloff6138. Hi Shannon!
Wow that plane is a "dart" very aerodynamic. I guess you are back in town from Idaho.
@danblumel. Hey Dan, yes I’m back. It was a blast up in Idaho. Let me know when would be a good time to meet up.
spacious little bird...i want one
@bristleconepinus2378. Amazing isn’t it !!!
Привет друг !Красиво летаете .👍👍👍
@Alex-gj5ou. Thank you my friend.
Small note: Garmin says Safe Glide is to be used only for engine out situations, not for pilot incapacitation situations. I think there are clear differences that would make using Safe Glide inadvisable when the engine is operating.
@ranetorrent8988. Thanks, that’s interesting. As one guy said, it may be cheaper to just teach your wife to land!!
@@WheelsInTheSky Hm, I’m not sure it’s practical to expect every right seat passenger to be capable of landing the plane. The chute is a great option when all other options are spent. But using Safe Glide for pilot incapacitation situations could create bigger problems. Safe Glide wants to pitch to best glide, and doing that at a high power setting would be incorrect. And, pulling power when you have a good engine might eliminate the best landing options. In that aircraft, I think I’d do a preflight briefing with passengers showing them the LVL and HDG buttons on the GMC-507 auto pilot, and show them how to navigate to the nearest airport where they can pull the chute. I’d save the Smart Glide button specifically for engine-out situations as a method to reduce workload in an emergency situation.
I’m considering purchasing a Risen 915is SV, so that has me thinking through as many elements of this aircraft and its operation as I can. The Smart Glide for pilot incapacitation comment gave me pause to think through that scenario. So, I contacted Garmin and they gave a short, curt reply stating that Smart Glide is ONLY for engine out scenarios.
By the way, the filming you do on this video is extraordinary. Keep up the great work!
@ranetorrent8988. Thanks Rane. Good info. to know.
Old guy to have such a sleek, modern, 'young' plane. Why not, I guess.
@authurboxington1112. Yeah. But when you’re young- you’re poor. But then as the years pass, you finally have some money. So you buy the toys you’ve always wanted.
You’re right, why not. Enjoy life.
I miss flying SOOOO much. But when you lose you're medical due to cardio problems there's no going back.
@bobjoatmon1993. Yeah, sorry to hear that. I switched to Basic Med 2 years ago. As soon as I retired from the airlines, my AME started getting finicky. Like, I didn’t really need a medical anymore, since I wasn’t flying for a living. I know my day will come soon enough, so for now I get as much enjoyment as I can.
@@WheelsInTheSky unfortunately, aFib treated with a Cardioversion (they shock your heart stopped then shock it back beating) is a disqualifing condition for Basic Med, I reported it and had the FAA pull my license.
Still, I have my A&P so I still get some amount of aviation fix, it's not cold turkey.
Wow. 😊
@mpschaefer1. Yea, what a cool plane.
I’d love to see the fixed-gear version (the Siren) equipped with the 915. I’m willing to bet you’d give up no more than around 10-12 kts in airspeed, especially at high altitudes with reduced drag.
I read an article that the Siren (912) boasts a record of 155 kt/288 kph cruise. Yet the Risen 912 is advertised at 300 kph, which is 161.9 kts. That’s very little difference. I’m a fan of fixed-gear due to the high maintenance costs and insurance premiums associated with retracts.
@GeneralSirDouglasMcA. Yeah, I’m sure you’re right. Next time I see Alberto, I’ll ask. I kinda like the clean look with the gear up, and worry about costs later.
This is a really cool video. Do you think you could do something similar to this but with your F1 rocket? There's not much information about the F1 rocket. I think it would be really cool video.
@DomSchlabach. Hi Dom. Thanks, that’s a great idea. I’ll sit down with my fellow Rocket buddies and see what we can come up with.
Sure do love that plane Bob, would you be so kind as to share what graphic material you used on your plane where that would be available?
Johnwilfley2723. Hi John. I think I’ll see Bob tomorrow and I’ll ask him. I’ll let you know.
Step aside Bob Ross…the new chill cat.
@jms241965. Yeah, I’ve heard that. I didn’t know who Bob Ross was till I started doing UA-cam videos. Maybe when I get older and can’t fly, I’ll take up painting.
Great video. What kind of a camera set up were you using? You got some amazing angles.
@publius1776ad. I was using an Insta360 X2. I’ll be experimenting with some other 360 cameras in the future. Always looking for better quality. But without a camera crew, a 360 camera does the job.
Amazing aircraft but the video was something else, how were the shots done of your aircraft rolling and taken from outside. Top class!
@dputt7. Thanks. Glad you liked it. I used a 360 camera mounted in front of my wing. A lot of people ask me, so I did a video a while back on how I attached my 360 camera: How to Mount Cameras on Airplanes #GoPro #Insta360

@@WheelsInTheSky Thanks for your reply, your video answered all my questions and once again your video is Brilliant,
When you said, “The dog” I thought no way can you fit a dog. Then I saw that Jack Russell. Perfect size. 👍
@cloudstreets1396. Me and Bob both have wonderful Jack Russells. Bob says he put his dog’s kennel in the cargo space right behind the seats, along with two soft sided luggage cases on each side of the kennel. Fits perfectly. He has the door to the kennel facing forward so his dog can go in and out.
My wife and I learned to put our Sparky on his leash as soon as we land. They’re busy dogs!!
@@WheelsInTheSky Your video now has my wife and I looking into the Risen 915. It’s perfect for just her and I and the range, performance, tech and fuel economy are nothing short of miraculous.
@cloudstreets1396. That’s great to hear. I’m considering it to. But we usually take the 185, because most of the places we go are backcountry. But Alberto was telling me his Risen could land on dirt, as long as it’s not too ruff.
Fantastic plane. Cross the atlantic: europe, africa and south america.
@Brumiani. Yes, it’s amazing. I think of the Risen every time I look at the fuel flow in my plane!
Pretty sweet plane. Wonder how it would fit someone 6’3? Sat in a bunch of European composite planes during Oshkosh last year. I was quite disappointed that my head was hitting the canopy and my ankles were touching each other.
@Captndarty. Good question. I’ll check with Alberto, the designer. I know when I flew it, I was surprised at how roomy the cockpit was.
@@WheelsInTheSky There are no height issues, the Risen can be customized and we have enough room for tall pilots. :-)
@@daniloparlatano7760 I'm 6'4" and I fit fine in mine; very comfortable. One of the Risen pilots in Wyoming is, I believe 6'7". They can fit it to you.
Imagine a bigger one with a PT6A in it
Dreams aside this plane is actually a "feasible" cross country monster that looks stunning! I wonder how its yaw control feels.
@CrossWindsPat. That’s what I was thinking.
When I flew it, yaw was not noticeable. But of course, he has a yaw damper.
Great, comfortable XC plane!
I learned to fly at BTF skypark! wow... you should make a video about the airfield and what's become of it. Looks like a lot more hangars were added since 2002. Also, when he was describing the plane all i could hear is 'expensive' 'expensive' and more 'expensive stuff'. Like, the oxygen system connected to an ipad, connedted to him to see how he's breathing, or the autoland stuff. It's almost a type rating, all the things in it. Most men his age cannot perform the physical maneuver he did to get into it, much less their wives. Why not get a bonanza or a cirrus? Way more capable and user friendly.
@scottboelke4391. Hi Scott, SkyPark is a neat little airport. I never noticed it till I retired from the airline and was desperate to get my own plane!
That’s what I thought when I saw Bob’s plane - dollar signs! But he likes that stuff. I do to, but I’m not sure I’m willing to pay for it, after all, I may never fly another instrument approach the rest of my life. Not sure I would want to in a single engine anyway. I have the G3x, in my Rocket though, bought it that way. Gotta say, I love it. Makes life easy.
Every time I climb in my Husky, I remember the reason the seller was getting rid of it. He said it was too hard getting in and out! Another good reason to keep the gym membership !!
Bonanza or Cirrus? Always thought it was interesting how everyone buys a different plane. But, all good points, I’m glad you checked in!
@@WheelsInTheSky : Right on... Yer pays yer money, and yer makes yer choice. If we all did the same thing this planet would be unthinkably boring! 😜
Yeah sleepy voice. You make a hang glider seem supersonic.
@andremarais2706. Yeah, you’re right.
Does Skypark still have those really swell power lines at both ends of the runway? That is a really beautiful design btw….
@noonehere1793. Lol. Nothing right at the ends. A couple miles off the North end there’s some big power lines, but there’s also a lot of open fields for an emergency landing- as long as you miss the power lines. Nothing but building off the south end!
Love the plane, Bob, would you share where you got your graphics and what they are
@johnwilfley2723 Sure, I hope to see Bob tomorrow. If not for sure on Tuesday, when I’ll be doing some videoing of his plane. I’ll get back to you.
This is Chris- I did the video of Bob’s plane.
Wonderfully done , and very informative video, that’s one slick, looking bird I’d love to fly up and see you sometime. Maybe I could just buy your fuel when you can fly and come see me could you get here a lot faster lol
@stingsportflyersusa2561 Thank you, it was a good time videoing Bob’s Risen. I’m not sure how far he’d fly it to show someone, but if you’re ever in the Salt Lake area, I can put you in touch with him. As a Risen rep., a lot of people go thru him to buy their Risen and take a test flight.
Perfect I did not know he was a rep because I was wondering if it’s considered an EAB and if so, did he have to go to Italy to participate in the build? Thanks so much for the quick reply. PS your guys planes were pretty cool too obviously and they’re also aerobatic which the Risen is not.
@stingsportflyerusa2561. I believe he bought it from another guy who did the import, then decided he didn’t like glass!! Some guy on the East coast.
Let me know if you ever end up out this way.
I have seen the future. I fly a Rotax 912is but this is airplane is light years ahead of mine.
@Bill3558. Hey Bill, I agree. I don’t have one, but starting to want one! Quiet and smooth!
Amazing! That performance just completely blows away the planes I normally look at. So this plane can be operated in IFR? I'm very curious about the process of purchasing and registering here in the USA.
@thomasdowd2183. Hi Thomas, Bob has been working with Porto Aviation to set up an assembly location here near Salt Lake City. I believe the plan is to sell the planes as Light Sport’s soon, instead of experimental. If you’re interested, Bob can set up a test flight for you and answer any questions. 801-209-8851
Very cool! Is that color changing stripe paint or vinyl?
@stevemorrow9069. Hey Steve. They’re vinyl.
Beautiful aircraft indeed. In a rescue situation how is the cockpit accessed from outside?
@ibnewton8951. Bobs doesn’t , as it is one of the earliest models. Going to have to use a crash axe, should be pretty easy. But, per European reg’s the new ones have to have a way access cockpit from outside.
