My late older brother absolutely loved this song; one of his favorites by The Stones. I'm listening to it right now while wearing my favorite T-shirt. It has a photo on the front of it of my brother and Keith Richards, arms around each other's shoulders. His name was Charlie. Name The Stones song that starts with Charlie Watt's drums? "Get Off Of My Cloud". My brother and I saw The Stones perform that live back in 1966 at The Forest Hills Tennis Stadium, NYC. The Stones arrived for this gig via helicopter. They literally dropped in from the clouds. 26 years later, my brother Charlie found himself, guitar in hand, walking up to Keith Richards' front door. He'd been invited, but I remember him describing what was going on in his mind: "He (Keith) is going to change his mind and have me arrested for trespassing." You know, now that I think of it: my brother Charlie was not only a very good guitarist, but he was a fairly decent drummer, too. The last thing I ever said to him alive was the opening line of The Righteous Brothers' 'Rock N Roll Heaven'.
There is a haunting sense of sadness in this piece as Mick Taylor would leave the Stones shortly after the album's release. The guitar solo echos his legacy.
Sooo true, I am going to be 75 soon, Stones alwats part of my life. Keith dtill visits Louisville Kentucky and hangs out. He bought many a guitar AND accessories from us.crazy dresser, loved his neck scarves!
