I was born in 1961 and I have been playing and singing this magical song since 1978 (I didn't know America before).
This is MY SONG, in all its versions.
I went to see America in 1985 at the Smeraldo in Milan and I noticed, with great pleasure, that my way of playing it (with the 12 strings) is identical.
Even today, my heart trembles when I hear it.
    I love you!🥰

(Sadly I didn't care for the music of my parents much). My kids are like you .... they know and enjoy music from the mid 70's on up to music of today. I folks like you because you realize how great the music of the 70s and 80s is. Those who attend the shows don't seem to care about age gap. As a owner of a sound reinforcement and lighting company people do not realize mixing monitors is the toughest job of a concert. Many a show has been ruined by a bad monitor mix. Hard to find a good tech that REALLY knows what they are doing on monitors.

The icing on the cake is how easy they were to mix. Each band member down stage wanted only their voice in the their monitor. Nothing else. That's it!@@gcvincent3989

It's the early 70's cool/attitude/sound we had in the day on the west coast/ L.A. in the day. This is exactly what I hear through Cory Wells cool voicing of 3 Dog Night. Obvious in 'Mama told me not to come', the 3rd. stanza of 'Family of man', ''One man band', and 'Sure as I'm sittin here' Robert at 68.
