Thank you so much for still consistently putting out these high quality and highly detailed guides. Just started my 2nd playthrough and am already using some of your builds and having a blast! Will try out this one soon!
Big fan of your stuff, even if i am thinking your guides are way more useful for the pathfinder games because they are so much more complicated with 20 levels and mystic paths. Do you tried out Solasta too?
The virulent venom ring is pretty neat since it just straight up cancels poison resistance and skips straight to vulnerability. In theory you gotta put it on a character with spell save DC boosting equipment, but it can attempt 3 times on the same enemy when cast, so it doesn't even need that much help

A small tip when using consumable poisons, you can throw them on the ground to make a puddle. Doing so lets you not only use one poison to coat your entire party, but rather than only lasting a minute, the poison will last until long rest.
I only found out about it in my second playthrough and it’s SUCH a Pro-tip to move through the game. BUT to dip weapon you have to throw TOXINS on the ground (purple worm is the strongest) NOT POISONS as these create a cloud. This damage triggers on enemy turn but can stack multiple times. You have to use other necklace to not override the dipped toxin.:)
For anyone reading this in December 2023 or onward, Larian patched this out in Patch 5. The poison only lasts a specific amount of turns now, rather than until you long rest.
Just a thought: Tiger Barbarian gets a Cone AOE which guarantees bleeding on hit. Bleeding victims are at a disadvantage to Constitution rolls. Poison is a save vs constitution. Also Spike Bulbs have a large AOE bleed attack when thrown. Olum(sp) sells them cheap in the Underdark at the Myconid Colony.
@@cRPGBro no need to get it from summons ... there is a kinda complicated way to get em without summons....here is a quick copy/paste on how to get it. Looted from a Djinni that spawns from Castigated by Divinity. The debuff must afflict a Tempus, Helm, Oghma, or Kelemvor Cleric for a djinni to spawn. The djinni has to be felled in an outdoor area like the outdoor Lower City. Take a long rest afterwards, and come back to the place where the pile of ash was that used to be the djinni. Instead of an ash pile, there will be a pouch laying on the ground with the scimitar inside.
I've found the best way to make slayer form strong is not so much in the dark urge's build, since all they want is extra attack stacking (any source of extra attack + pact of the blade extra attack). Instead, the real power comes from the team around the slayer doing what they can to set you up. Teammates that can knock prone, cause bleeding, and set dazed, so that the slayer doesn't have to worry about setting these up, and can just focus on Slay and multiattack. A wildheart barb does a pretty good job at causing bleed with tiger cleave, especially if they get blackhole from the illithid powers. Having someone with the staff of arcane blessing, and giving the slayer an extra 2d4 to hit helps a lot. Of course, Haste + bloodlust is a must. Enlarging the slayer really ups your multistrike damage. You get the idea.
@@cRPGBro while we are at wishing for builds, I would really like to see you do a psychic damage focus build. With the aura of the Resonance Stone you can make enemies vulnerable to psychic. In that case, I will give the other party member eventually a lesser variant of the Gear (such as something you will use on an earlier Chapter like Firstbreaker Helm vs Hood of the Weave, or Dark Justiciar Gloves vs Helldusk, Covert Cowl/Dark Justiciar Helm vs Sarevok's Helmet etc.) In my Best Party Guide here however, I cover a party suggestion that has no gear overlap at all: ua-cam.com/video/IaCdsIeKz3g/v-deo.html For that Gale, I simply had him as full Sorc for no spellcasting delay and fun Metamagic.
I've done something similar with the broodmother's revenge on my dual crossbows build. Just run the regen ring the whispering promise and the broodmother's revenge and every turn your getting 1d4 hp dipped in poison and bless its really quite powerful

Hey. What do you mean by main merchant? Cuz i wanted to side with goblins (Minthara is the ony one That matters there) thorn blades arent from Damon? Cuz he Aint forgin nothin. Well. He dead
With a similar build, I liked giving the Virulent Venom ring to the Party support character instead of my MC. It occasionally was nice in the mid-late levels to focus on tough/resistant enemies. I gave it to Gale, respec'd as a Lore Bard, so Cutting Words helped get it past their saves. I went with a Fighter/Tiger Barb multiclass because the poison and bleeding synergize by debuffing Con saves, which also made using that ring more likely to succeed if my MC got to them first.
Very fun and strong build. If you're up for a challenge id really like to see trickery domain being used well at all in any build. Its so bad so id be curious if it could actually be made viable perhaps with some multiclassing
You can still hit hard enough when Dual Wielding, and thankfully since most of the Poison stuff is tied to Gear and not class abilities, you can always change to other gear vs these foes.
A build idea, and request, if you take them: best build(s) for lone wolf / solo tactician playthrough. I found that you have to play the game quite differently without a party, especially early on, it necessitates different approach to character building too.
Ahh it's like you read my mind! I know poison isn't "optimal," but there's so much great gear with it that I've been hoping to see if it's possible to make some fun, viable builds with it. Thank you for this!
Doing something similar right now. I think people are sleeping on dual wielding weapons. Asterion is carrying me through act 1, but in act two with dark justiciar gauntlets, callous glow ring and caustic band you 8 guaranteed bonus damage per attack. Add Pahlavi aluve in party and it gets crazy. More instances of damage end up beating great weapon master if you want to build around it
@@cRPGBro Very cool video, btw. Have you done a drunk build yet? People might enjoy that a lot. I get the feeling that people don't realize the one (and only one, really) benefit to dual wielding, which is the ability to hit twice rather than once prior to (and as you initiate) combat if you toggle on dual wielding under your weapon picture to the right of your portrait. Otherwise, it is mostly for flavor (which is completely valid, of course) rather than the best choice. Melee weapons as a whole tend to be the 'wrong' choice other than for flavor. Furthermore, discussions about what is a 'good build' in BG3 are typically rather silly, because as soon as you are playing with a full party of 4 characters, the game is utterly trivial, so literally every semi-competent build smashes the enemy. Even running around solo with "just" buffs from characters sitting in camp makes combat trivial, as you can have warding bond, enchant weapon, elemental weapon, shield of faith, longstrider, transmuter stone con save prof and 10 additional move, etc. etc. Plus freedom of movement, prot from poison, upcasted aid, etc. That leaves us with only solo tactician for us to even begin to start talking about what a good build might be. And then, at least until Act 3 creates a dozen OP builds, ranged Gloomstalkers are far and away better than any class, so now any discussion is about how to build the best non-Gloomstalker given certain restrictions, such as a particular single pure class, etc.
Yes! But remember that Druids are stuck with just 1 Attack/Action, unless you go with 5 levels in another class like Paladin, Fighter, Ranger, Swords Bard. Circle of Spores Druid is great for this as at level 2 you'll have extra Necrotic damage on melee or ranged attacks.
@Halinspark Unless patch 4 changed this, you can use command drop on your Deva or Djinni summon. The deva mace does an extra 4d8 radiant same as a level 4 smite, and the Djinni scimitar does an extra 2d10 poison.
I also liked the whispering promise as it gives you bless every turn to help land those poison hits while also buffing saves, and also would prefer strange conduit over caustic band. I like these two rings on this build more as the caustic band and callous glow ring are easier to use on other builds (or rather, every build wants them while whispering and conduit are trickier to use for some builds).
I kind of got to the point where I prefer my main character to be the lock opener. for some reason in this game, selecting different characters is more of a tour than it should be. Maybe different on Consol but on PC it just seems like a lot of times I click on a characters portrait and they don’t get selected and I have to click again, but I have to make sure that they are properly highlighted and selected and then clicked also even more of an annoyance is that a lot of chests and traps and things like that are in areas that are difficult to get to or surrounded by traps exploding things or who knows what when I ungroup a character, sometimes I get sucked into a dialogue on somebody other than who my main character is, which is annoying then there’s a weird passing thing going on where companions for some odd reason don’t follow you. There needs to be some AI tweaks and maybe some customizable routines that you can plug-in, such as ignore damage from jumping if I command the character to do so by following me.
yeh, there are problems with portrait clicking... so I am using f1-f4 buttons for that, much more comfortable and always works. Companions not following (when jumping required) is much more annoying (especially because usually I found that thay are half map away after starting a fight)... Though after the last patch situations seams to be better - now they stuck occasionally, when previously I had to manually make them jump nearly after every obstacle
I can't bear playing this game with more than 1 character period, heh. In addition to the issue you mentioned, which I totally agree with: You go into turn-based, initiate combat. Only 1 of your characters is probably now in combat. The other 3 of your characters then LEAVE turn-based spontaneously and aren't in combat, with duration effects ticking down. You select one of those 3 characters, get them all back in turn-based, manage to get the next char into combat, and then the remaining 2 are now back out of turn-based and not in combat, etc. God forbid you have any summons, familiars, etc. Larian did a great job with some aspects of the game, and I do love BG3, but their combat and general mechanics is so much worse and more buggy than so many other similar games, such as Pillars of Eternity, despite a massive budget and 6 years. I really get the feeling that they could care less about that aspect of the game and just put all their money and effort into the look and story.
@@Anastasia-ii2yy yeah totally 💯 . I literally cringe at even the slightest jump areas. Because I know if i’m even halfway not paying attn my party will be all over the place. I have to seriously put my dad cap on while exploring. Like “okay kids let’s ALL stay together! Over here AstarionI told you to not wander off!”
Perfect timing, was literally respeccing astarion when you uploaded. Also, isthere plans to make a duellist build? I saw the duellist prerogative and was wondering if you were making a build for that.
2 paladin/10 sword bard works really great with duellist prerogative take counterspell late in the game, since you get 2 reactions thanks to that weapon. you can attack 3 times (at least) and together with savage attacker, you can smite enemies into oblivion
ok, I am curious, you denigrate the usefulness of the Poisner's Ring because you can "only use once per short rest", which I agree with, but you constantly sing the praises of multiclassing to get Action Surge, which you only get once per LONG Rest, which has an even bigger issue,
Action surge is a short rest... Also action surge costs nothing and grants you a full action, unlike the ring which will use your action... You have to pretty dumb to think they're anywhere near close.
I misspoke, Poison Ring is once per LONG Rest. Also, it can be resisted while wasting your main action. Action Surge doesn't cost anything to activate and can result in either 2x or 3x more attacks for the turn.
Nice. I like thematic builds or less popular builds more than Super Uber Ult Most Crit Damage builds. I'd like to see your take on a realarcane Trickster that doesn't suck. Or a brawler/wrestler character that just focuses on WRASTLING (throwing) enemies.

Bro just use F keys to select your party members no need to click their portraits
yeh, there are problems with portrait clicking... so I am using f1-f4 buttons for that, much more comfortable and always works.
Cool builds but 80% of the games done when you get to this
Basically like 95% of the builds?
You can get all Poisoner Gear by Act 2, though.
Amazing as always!thanks dude!
Thanks for the comment as always!
Can you do a sasuke build pls 🙏
I'll see what I can do, sometimes it's hard with the more limited options of BG3 as opposed to Pathfinder!
@@cRPGBro bless up
Perfect timing, was literally respeccing astarion when you uploaded. Also, isthere plans to make a duellist build? I saw the duellist prerogative and was wondering if you were making a build for that.
Duelist could be fun, with just Shield & 1H!
2 paladin/10 sword bard works really great with duellist prerogative
take counterspell late in the game, since you get 2 reactions thanks to that weapon.
you can attack 3 times (at least) and together with savage attacker, you can smite enemies into oblivion
ok, I am curious, you denigrate the usefulness of the Poisner's Ring because you can "only use once per short rest", which I agree with, but you constantly sing the praises of multiclassing to get Action Surge, which you only get once per LONG Rest, which has an even bigger issue,
Did they nerf action surge? I thought it refreshed after short rest.
@@bes7054 action surge is once per long rest, not short rest, and it does cost one thing, your action surge, which the exact same thing
@@warrior995 I've had this game since early release and it's always been long rest
Can we get a scythe dual wield shadow dmg build next? Like Malthael from diablo 3 reaper of souls
Sadly there are no Scythes in the game, but I suppose we can go with Sickles!
No matter the game this mans crativity is a kindred spirit.
Thank you so much!
Nice. I like thematic builds or less popular builds more than Super Uber Ult Most Crit Damage builds.
I'd like to see your take on a realarcane Trickster that doesn't suck.
Or a brawler/wrestler character that just focuses on WRASTLING (throwing) enemies.
I'll see what I can do!
AT has been on my mind for a while.
