This is the most awesome tip ever! My husband went to O'Reilly's to get a tool. The sales guy says "I never had a crank window." That shows the times now a days. He came home n we found you! Thank You so much for sharing your knowledge!
I appreciate that. I learned it from a top tier mechanic, my dad. They make a tool, but can cause damage to the door panel. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Good deal, this works on most cranks and handles held on with those clips. I say most, because there has only been one that I couldn’t get it to work on in 40 yrs.
😮💨 thanks im glad i found your channel im out here in my garage trying to take off the window crank at 1:30 am been trying to get it off for a while now but used your pops method and it worked like a charm….SUBSCRIBED 💯
Man that's amazing. Thank you so much! I just used it used it on my ninety four nissan Sentra. But it would work on all kinds of things. I wish I'd known about this forty years ago!
Thank you!! I seen others videos and I still couldn’t get it and the shop rag didnt work for me still so I used some string and it came out after and 3 turns back and forth.
On some door handles it is a little harder to get the shop towel in behind it or the clip is located where you really have to push a bunch of the towel in there. Thanks for commenting and subscribing. ✌️
My dad taught me this trick many years ago. I haven’t had one that I couldn’t remove to date. Good luck!! Thanks for watching. I try to do these kinds of tips on my channel.
On some models of cars/trucks it’s actually held on with a screw in the middle. The window crank just has a cover and you can pop it off and it will swing out of the way and you can access the screw. I’ve never had one with a wire clip that I couldn’t get off with this method, not to say there isn’t one that this won’t work. But I’ve worked on a lot of cars all makes and models.
Thanks, I like simple tricks that cost nothing and work well. The beauty of this one, is it also prevents any potential damage to the door panel or components.
This is the smartest tip ever gracias
Thanks, I appreciate it. Things you learn along the way. I think this is one my now retired mechanic father showed me.
The BEST practical tip. Thanks.

If my handle won't stay on and comes off in my hand as I crank the window then the clip must be missing. Does that sound right?
Yes, they sell them at most parts stores. I saw them in Oreilly’s last week. Thanks for watching and commenting. ✌️
