I love that your son's costume has the Fleischer-era Superman logo! If you ever do a tutorial on the Fleischer Superman costume, that would be awesome. :)
Hell ya
Your son is the luckiest kid in the world!!!
I absolutely love the Christian spin you have on superheroes, and I have been making a Superman costume. I would really like to know how you made the classic Fleischer Superman symbol for your son's costume.
You love your son very much , I can see it in your eyes . God bless !
I've always had a problem with the decorative stitching. It's even harder after my rental reattachment operation. You did a GREAT job. Can you could help me in doing mine.
Again great job
Jay
Polyester is also the fabric used in 1978 superman film starring Christopher reeves
Yes they are. But he didn't need a center belt-buckle, his were tied under Christopher Reeve's back
Your son makes and exceptional Superman! If Clark Kent had seen your video, he would never have taken his glasses off.
Great tutorial :) looking forward to the muscle suit too! thank you for taking the time to make the tutorials.
Dude! Your AMAZING!!! Im making my 4 year old nephews Halloween costume. Ive been working on it for a month using cosplay techniques. Its amazing but I had no idea what to do for a cape. I didn’t want to buy a cruddy one……. And then I found your vid. Great instructions and easy steps. You saved this costume!!! Thanks
can you do a tutorial on making a fabric Batman mask not buying a pre made one. also a flash and robin costume tutorial and Batman gloves.
I'm a new sub and I really enjoy your videos. Thanks so much for making them. I can't wait to see the muscle suit!
Awesome...going to make mini ones.
this is an awesome tutorial!! I managed to make mine with no problems thanks to your direction!! at first i didnt know how to make a harness so my cape doesnt fall off or strangle me XD and your method was great.
How did he do it? I don't know the process
so cool. good work. greetings from Brazil.
Youre son look so cool with a cape, I think it will be better if he has a superhero mask
Hi Scott I was just watching your video on making a Christopher Reeve superman costume and I wanted to if the wool gaberdine comes in a thicker material for more durability
Cool... love your stuff!
Waw You're so great! This video (and the other in the future) gonna help me so much for my Sup's Cosplay! Thank you!
+romain det You're welcome! I'm so glad I can help!
I love this ❤
A classic superman cape, awesome. I'm looking forward to seeing the next episode and others to come.
But what's the 55 in wide bolt for?
@@harrisonneves6007 I think he meant belt. Possibly an accidental mispronunciation. The 55-to 60 Inch red belting is what you need to make sure you have. Hope this helped! Jeez, six years...
I see. Got it
Até que enfim, vi como é feita a capa. Obrigada.
When you said costumers for Christ, I decided to subscribe, Jesus was truly a super hero
Thank you! All of your videos are amazing and very insightful. Can you make a video on making a superman shield for the chest? T would be a tremendous help. God bless.
I'll be doing that very soon. Let me know whether you'd prefer to see a sewn-IN spandex symbol or a sewn-ON vinyl symbol.
Scott Bayles honestly both would be super great and appreciated. I realize you're a busy man but either is good. Thank you.
do you know how to make a oval cape for a strict robin cape. my little bro wants to be the damian Wayne robin for comic con this year.
can you please put a link to the templates for the superman chest emblem and belt and cape
yeeesssss!! thank you so much for this!
What?
Excellemt tutorial again....do you have a template or tutorial for the man of steel cape at all?? thank you Steve
how possibly did you learn this? you went to Parsins or FIT?? totally awesome.
I had a question regarding dye sub costumes. If I purchased a dye sub suit with muscle shading and wanted to attach a chest emblem in this way (cutting out the outline and sewing it in), would that mess up the look of the muscle shading? If so, what would you ecommend? Thanks!
Very nice!!!!
Gracias, gracias, gracias
Can you please send me the link to the template for the Superman Chest emblem shield and cape
thanks scott for the comment
Scott Bayles, I'm going to make a screen accurate Christopher Reeve cape but what's the 55 wide in bolt and what does 4 yards got to do with it? I'm just a little unsure of what 4 yards is for. If you could type the steps for how to make the cape, that would be greatly appreciated
Hi Scott I have been watching your videos for a long time I'm glad I watch your channel can you make a tutorial on a actual Batman fabric cowl with a classic cartoon look
I love how to do superman costume
I really loved this and will be making one for my grandson he is all about dressing up as his favorite super hero.. I was just wondering if a video could be made showing how the suit went on over the straps so don't show.. I cant picture it well for myself lol. Thank you in advance . God Bless
Christopher Reeve put the cape on first, then he put the shirt on and covered the straps of the cape with the suit. That's why you don't see them. They're underneath the blue suit
how would you make an accurate new 52 cape? with the thinner look and the point at the bottom of the cape?
I hope you can make a tutorial on how to make the "S" symbol on the shirt/suit
It's on my list. 😃
What I needed tysm
Would this work for cloaks designed to drape over the shoulders (like a Vampire/dracula cape)?
Nice! LOVE the Fleischer chest logo -- did you make that as well?
+bonzohart Thanks! And, yes, we wanted something a little different for this logo. Something you don't see every day.
Wow Awesome OMG
Awesome
Just a question, but if you cut the neckline at 10 inches, wouldn't that mean the radius of the cape would be 35 inches instead of 45?
I really need to make 2 pairs of Robin Hood boots, you mentioned a few years ago you had instructions... can I get them...Thanks
Please, what fabric do you use for this cover?
Just wondering how old is your son I'm 12 so I want to make sure I have the right measurements
I’m 10
Scott, I would very much like to know how to make a George Reeves body suit but am trying to find the right fabric to use. His suit was made of some form of wool, I believe. I would love to know if there is a fabric that mimics the texture of wool but still has the stretch factor of spandex. Any suggestions? Thanks, man. Loving your videos.
I believe that George Reeve's costume was made of a knit wool, like a sweater material. Finding the right color minght be tough, but they still sell this type of material at Joann's. You could also use cotton spandex. It's not as heavy (thick), but it looks and feels similar. That's what I used here: scontent-atl3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/249024_10201955900282339_911968737_n.jpg?oh=30ebc2031a7b571931f5d88da69df44d&oe=57DDAAE5
I also wonder if you could stitch by hand the black thread to the symbol of the back of the cape. Our sewing machine doesn't work
How long of fabric would be long enough for a 5' 7.5" guy like me
Teen Titans ringtone ha ha ha
lindo!!!
how do you sew a superman logo onto a spandex shirt?
Thanks!
Is that the same way you did the bat symbol on your batman body suit?
+Highschool Humor Yes, only on the Bat-suit I used black spandex so it stretches with the suit.
I’m just gonna use a regular ass blanket that I out grew
I mean isn’t that the actual origin for some versions of the cape anyway
hey scott can i use pleather to make the cape
+Carlos Rodriguez Yes, but it will be very heavy. I would look for light weight pleather.
Front emblem
Tutorial?
Do you have a video on how to make the briefs? I found the one of the yellow belt, but not the briefs! Thanks
Yep. ua-cam.com/video/e0LIQjiOE4Q/v-deo.html
I love your videos
Tiffany Darge
Nice I am doing batman thank you
how do you measure for around the neck
I don't measure the neck ever. I just eyeball it. But start small , because you can always make it bigger.
Scott, how does one create a cape that won't or is less likely to blow around a person's body into the wrong place or to blow up onto one's face, blinding them? Do I need weights like in a shower curtain? Obviously, snapping the cape on behind one's back should stop it from blowing around and turning it into a poncho (ha ha), but I'm not really going for that look necessarily unless I can hide the straps somehow or something like how some more classic heroes have those huge gold circles on each shoulder holding the cape on. Is there a certain type of material that this is less likely to happen with? If you check out my Gospelman Ministries video in which I do the Gospel magic trick about the resurrection, you can see what I'm talking about. It was a windy day that day. I'm also using a cheap cape I found in a Spirit of Halloween store, so it's possible your homemade capes are of a much higher quality.
He looks like Max Fleischer's Superman.
can you make a batman v superman costume?
yea would love to see the modern cape. much wider and longer. show us

Woah, woah. Is that you wearing the Superman suit in the beginning?
+Brandon Nielsen Yes, it is! That's my Christopher Reeve costume and I'm wearing muscle padding under it.
Scott Bayles that's amazing! I couldn't recognize you in that suit. Did you make that muscle padding? It looks quite natural.
+Brandon Nielsen Thanks. And, yes, I made the muscle padding and will be posting a tutorial on how to do that in less than a month.
Yes!!! I cannot wait to see that!
The fabric looks soft
I think that the title of a cool for your videos
