I watch it weekly, but when ever I see a crazy video like the day Ron got called out to pick up the service truck, pick up truck and trailer then also a car in a ditch.. My gaming friend watches that with me.
I've been driving commercially and operating heavy equipment since 1987. I've only been doing towing for 6 years and absolutely love it. I drive a peterbilt 379 with a 50 ton Miller wrecker. I discovered Ron's channel about 7 months ago and have learned a whole lot of tricks and tips. I wish I lived in his city I would stop by to put in an application. He's a very good teacher. I'm 59 and never too old to learn.
Good morning Ron! Turning around in that area is dangerous, but being under the truck pulling the driveshaft on the side of the ramp is also dangerous! One of those options is dangerous for a shorter period of time so I would say you made the better decision. Good work!
👍 Rear cam is like sitting in the bed of a pickup truck just watching the action behind the scenes. 👍👍 Front bumper cam is like surfing the wind & taking in all the beautiful scenery!
Think new camera view was cool think a view from the rear of the western star along with the rear view from the breakdown would also be cool like Picture in Picture saw similar video last year it was not recovery but as I was watching your video it popped into my head again just a thought Ron loving the videos stay safe !
You took a chance. Not a big deal. Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. As long as you're not making a habit of it (which you don't), it shouldn't matter.
As a tow truck driver from the 1970's I LOVE seeing the advancements in equipment and processes. The following camera adds to your already interesting collection of angles and views. thanks for your efforts.
Great job Ron! Don’t worry about the haters. Most of them have never, and could never do what we do. This is the real world and sometimes you have to take calculated risks.
I’ve found long driving scenes don’t hold the audiences attention, I’d try shorter highlights of the trip, if there are particular land marks, or scenic views. Just my experience from my channel.
I don't care what people say about your videos. I think that you & your whole team are awesome. I appreciate the hard work and dedication that y'all put in.
Rear tow view was pretty cool . It may be a pretty useful addition in case someone drives into you while towing. It could be helpful determining fault. Good luck with your new sled
Love the new truck. You had just bought the "Tator" when I first started watching you. Criticism is just a spit in the ocean compared to all the good you do. I'd like to ask those people what they would do in the same situation! Thank you for sharing.
Keep up the awesome work you and your awesome team do, btw the move in the freight shaker was a calculated risk that was performed as safely as possible given the environment
I Like the way you train us (me anyway) Ron... You can train me any day... Also like the way you quiz us too...!!! Three things to check...I got em. 1. Light bar in the back and checked if working properly, 2. secure the steering wheel under the seat at the bottom base of the seat, (because of air ride seats )3. Walk around... windows are up, Hookups are good & secure, tie down chains are good, breakaways are in place & fastened, both axils are chained up, Driver's side door shut, hood latched both sides, light bar secured and on, wind fairing secure, axils chained up on passenger side. Ready to go... Like the new rear tow view & ride too...!!!
Ron you are perfectly normal. Yes I also like Mater he made me laugh at what he said and did but reminded me of Me on certain days. You never cease to make me proud of what I used to do when I did Towing.
Love the new truck! Great video! As a 12 year veteran of the fire service, I know emergency lighting can be a big part of scene safety, with the new feniex lighting, I recommend looking up the NFPA standard for emergency lighting and other studies. Those studies show slower and fuller light patterns when on scene are safer because they don’t have a “sense of urgency”. Slower light patterns are “calmer” to the human eye. Fast and random patterns are get for attention getting when responding, but once on scene a slower, calmer pattern is better. There is a effect known as the bug zapper effect, essentially it’s when you have quick lighting patterns, other motorist get distracted by them and loose focus on the roadway, sometimes resulting in a secondary accident. For example your current feniex lightbars are set to, what Feniex calls their “Attack” pattern. It’s excellent for response but once on scene they also have patterns were the 60in lightbar will alternate half and half. I’m not sure how this truck is wired, but it’s fairly easy to change the patterns. UA-cam will have videos on the light patterns Feniex offers. It’s hard to explain, but I highly recommend reading the studies out there on emergency lights. I know this is a long comment, but very helpful! Stay safe Ron!
Ron, I've watched a lot of them here on utube, and you've got'em all beat! In safety, efficiently, timely, all without cussin'! Love watching you. Thanks for posting it.. Ed Pattison, Midwest City, Ok.....Love the rear view too!
Hi Ron.I've been heavy equipment tech for 30 years now .sometimes you have to do what you have to go get the job done..experience is the best judge..love your work ethic and the way you treat your guys..we need more guys like you..keep up the great work and be safe..
Like the new camera view. Plus it like a rear dash cam just in case someone hit the truck in tow. Love what you put up. I look at it this way. If you put one up I don’t like I can always stop and go to another one. Thanks for posting.
Memories of when we used to ride in the back of the pickup. Something that is now rightfully considered a bad thing to do. Of course I also used to ride in the horse trailer when we had a horse that didn't trailer well.
Windsock, thumbs up, rear timelapse cam, thumbs up, "normal day job" video, thumbs up! That windsock made a *significant* difference in the wind noise! Having long stays in Kansas I know how impossible the wind is to deal with on phones/mics/etc, so I'm impressed!
Hi Ron, love the new WEstern Star, the new rear tow and front bumper cams were great. The haters and critisizers couldn't do the job you do. God Bless you, your family and your crew, you always do your best to do each job safely.
Just ignore the people that criticize. They don’t realize what you have to do and how you have to be safe. I enjoy watching you because of the way you talk about your workers and work well with them and explain everything you do and while you’re doing it.
Hi Ron, it's great seeing more of the day to day towing/recovery work, and after all, that is what the business is about. The new truck is great, and it takes a bit of time to get used to new items and features. Keep up the great work 👍
What's life without some criticism in it Ron. I think we all get criticized from time to time but that's life and we only need to keep Our Father up high and happy my friend. God Bless you guys.
For one your brother Ron Pratt and you know your stuff second there's no traffic I saw no danger in what you just did the way you do your job I've seen is the safest I've ever seen other towing companies cut corners and forget about safety you my brother Ron Pratt are the perfect Tower in my eyes I love you guys thank you for all your hard work and dedication to the profession
Honestly Ron, you have done an impressive job with the turnaround. Even before you commented on it, I was able to see your thinking of getting into full line of sight with the traffic before starting the turn to your advantage and warning them as well. The time it took you to whip that truck around that tiny spot was absolutely insane. I believe you made the best decision for the the situation you were presented with.
@Ron Pratt Good Friday morning! Thank you for another great video, Ron. I enjoy the new views -- riding through the beautiful countryside is very relaxing. But I don't want to diminish the value and enjoyment of riding with you as you share with us. On taking chances: the ones that scare me are the ones (from other channels) where they are NOT EVEN AWARE of the chance they are taking! 😳 God bless, and thanks again, Ron.
If I ever want to quit my job and be able to move to the midwest where young people can actually afford houses, I believe Ron has been secretly training me on how to be a tow truck operator. I could help pick and move things for him when he uses the rotator.
😅The rear tow view is great. It's also good for you, because if anything happens behind you you have a video record of it. The day-to-day stuff is the life stuff. I think a lot of us just like to see what you do on a regular basis. Some people may think it's tedious and boring, but I think many of us do not feel that way.
First of all it’s your company so the way you do it is the company way and correct. If it turns out not to be correct guess who’s responsible. Second various camera view is always welcome and lastly paying the bills is always the right way to do business. Great work as always.
I love how you do your Towing work and I also love watching your videos and I really enjoys watching them. Please stay safe and keep up the awesome work you do.
Love the tow view camera. Proves that people following you think that because you stopped at the t-intersection when turning left they are entitled to follow right behind you without stopping at all. Be safe and thanks for taking us along. God bless!
The big jobs are exciting, but to see you take joy in the “bread and butter” work is great. Good example of using the gifts and skill set God gave you for His glory! And if you are taking a poll, I prefer the front bumper view over the rear facing. Both are good, but that’s my preference. Thanks, Ron. God Bless!!
I liked the Rear View Cam. Reminded me of riding in the back of my dads pickup back in the 80's. Just watching the scenery pass you by. Ahhhh, to be a kid again.
I love the way you explain what you are doing. I also love the way you spoke to the camera after the rear view cam, made me chuckle way more than I expected.
The ordinary day to day stuff is what brought me to your channel a few years ago. I watch pretty much everything you post, though. Thank you for the content, and stay safe out there.
New western star is amazing piece of equipment. I love the rear tow and you can see what the people thinking when behind you. And I also like the front tow, I can see more than in the cot pit . Have a nice day and God bless.
Yes I liked the cam in the back, a different view and your one of the most honest persons on UA-cam Ron !! I'm watching you all the way from the Philippines !!!
I love that you asked your viewers if we had a good ride.
Who else loves Ron Pratt?
Like I said last week, his wife
I watch it weekly, but when ever I see a crazy video like the day Ron got called out to pick up the service truck, pick up truck and trailer then also a car in a ditch.. My gaming friend watches that with me.

Ron pulls off a three point reversal in a truck faster than most people can do one in a car. Well executed!
I think it's safe to say ron makes a LOT of stuff look easy and simple.
@@corycollierthe man is talented in his work that’s for sure!
One of the best towmen I’ve ever watched work God Bless him 👍🏼👍🏼👊🏼
Meh. I was hoping we were going to get a demo of how to do a j turn in a bobtail rig.

25:33 light bar, secure steering wheel, final check (walk around).
I got it. 😜
You took a calculated action based on your years of experience no one can fault you for that ❤❤❤
Most people that criticize know nothing about towing and recovery.
so his hook up changes is not a problem? what about the poivit point?
Yup im dealing wit that now at work
Love the new western star. The new camera view is also nice. Having videos by Ron on Fridays are a great start to the day. God Bless!

The rear camera brought back memories sitting in the back of the station wagon when I was a kid
Or the bed of a pickup, which you can't [legally] do any more in many places. A great loss to society imo.

That was an interesting view. I'll admit. I'm glad everyone is doing ok down there, Ron. That kind of sucks but you can only do so much.
That would be one H€!! of a mess up, to need both of them. Would hate to see what that looks like.
