That spice rack came out really nice and professional looking. You have inspired me.
Thank You!
It's gorgeous, Chad. You have a beautiful imagination. What a gift to take an idea from imagination to tangible reality.
Thank you very much!
Great design and great use of pallet wood. Who knew there were so many different types of hot sauce.
thank you!
WOW !! VERY COOL !!
Thank you!
Gorgeous!!! I didn't know about by the Apple cider vinegar or the borax, I already have a large spice rack made from pallet wood, so glad I saw this video! Next challenge will be to get it mounted on the wall!!!!
Thank you!

Celine Scrappassion thank you!
Beautiful. I love the way the back board is made
Thank you!
That turned out really nice . Thanks for sharing
Thank you!
ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL!!! I am thinking of building a campervan. I have to research a lot of space saving ideas. You sir, have inspired a really good idea. I really love the rustic look too. This would go nice on the inside of a food storage cabinet door. Thank you for the inspiration. Be blessed!
Thank you very much! Best of luck on your project!
Unbelievably gorgeous. WOW!
Thank you!
New follower here. Really enjoyed it. Inspired me to get back into the shop.
Thank you! Get to it!
That is impressive.Greetings from Eastern England!
Thank you! Greetings to you from America's armpit (NWFL)
Hey buddy! Nice rack! Best looking rack on the interwebs. Totally stealing this idea. . . Thanks for the creativity and craftsmanship. I love the rustic look for hot sauce and the wire retainer was a great idea.

Great Job!!! Me and my buddy were just talking about using a pallet to make a hot sauce rack. Thanks for sharing. Also noticed the El Yucatan green habanero sauce. Best hot sauce ever!!!
Thank You! El Yucateco is one of my favorites!

Turned out very nice!!!!!! Gave me some ideas, thanks!

Thank You!
Absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE this ....YOUR INCREDIBLE!!!!!
Thank you!
Great idea and a simple design, thank you for sharing.
thank you & thanks for checking it out!
Thanks for sharing your project. I especially like the jig you used for bending the metal rods to a uniform length. Good thinking!
Thank You!
Outstanding!whom ever taught you or Inspired you did well!
Thank You!
Wow, amazing!! it is beautiful!
Thank you!
Amazing job! Wow, I wish my husband had all the necessary tools to build that !
Thank You!
Diz pro marido deixar de ser preguiço, casou tem que trabalhar. Com uma serra tico-tico, uma furadeira, martelo e pregos ele consegue fazer uma. É estílo rústico, não requer precisão.
You could absolutely do this with a handsaw, a hammer, and a hand drill, it would just take more time
Very nicely done thanks for sharing
Thank You!
That is quite a collection of "heat". Nice looking display rack.
Jennifer Carducci thank you!
:) Love it! Nice and rustic, looks great!
Thank You!
BLESS YOU!! This is exactlyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy what I need!
Thank you!
i really like that you left in the sped up audio ! cool video, great result!
Thank You!
Nice job man!
Thanks!
WOW beautiful job badly need a long slimline one for under my kitchen cupboards mounted on the wall
To free up bench top space
Thank you sir!
Really very nice!
thank you!
REALLY nice work, my friend... I kept trying to guess what the next design twist would be! Well done! Only install variation for us might be to install the metal rods a touch higher so the labels on the small McCormick's bottles can be read, we seem to have a million of them!!
Thank You!
I am not a fan of rustic pieces but this is nice, simple design, some of modern look, nice use of metal rods. Well done.
Thank You!
What type of rods did you use?
they are 3/16" steel rods that I picked up at Lowes
AWESOME JOB WELL DONE
Thank You!
Excellent, Love it, Thanks for taking time to join in,but do you have anything from Aug 1 forward, it had to be uploaded aug 1 to aug 31 2016, this was a little early, would love to have you join the playlist, Some great tips and tricks in this one, Looks Super
thank you !
just beautiful one of the best I've seen
Thank You!
Love this! Definitely going to be making my own! might be a stupid question but. Can I ask how you attached it to the wall?
I used some heavy duty D rings like this www.homedepot.com/p/HangZ-75-lb-2-Hole-D-Ring-Hanger-2-Pack-10009/206471229
Just wanted to thank you for this great idea. I needed a spice rack but couldn't find one in the stores that I liked. Then I found your video. I was going to make mine out of an old pallet, too, but then decided to use cedar wood with some interesting grain. It turned out great. Thanks again.
Awesome! Glad it helped out. Thank you very much for the compliment and good vibes!
Com madeira nova também deve ter ficado bacana, mas você podia ter feito um vídeo para nós, né? Custava?
Pretty good job
Thank you
Great job but how did you put it up on the wall?
I used a couple of D-Rings mounted at the top of the back.

AWESOME
Very good job
Terrific idea and great build. A bit "suss" with the flip flops (or "Thongs" as they are known on Aussie) Thanks for the vid.
Thank you! I know I should wear shoes in the shop. I live in Florida and it's almost always too hot. After a while my toes got used to the sparks and splinters. If someone invents a steel toe flip flop I will be first in line to get a pair.

:D
Great job! Where do you get the metal rods?
thanks! I got them grom lowes, usually they are on the same isle as the screws
Just broke down my first couple of pallets and I'm planning on trying to make a spice rack similar to this. Did you stain just the ends with your steel wood stain or did you do the whole thing? If not, do you recommend using any kind of oil-based finish?
Thats Great!, I just used the steel wool mixture to tint the end of the boards I had cut to match the sun-baked natural patina the rest of the wood had.I was also going for a really rustic barnwood style look, so after I cleaned the wood completely at the end, I applied no finish. I liked the aged look the wood on it's own. If I were to apply a finish (either water or oil based) I would go for a matte look personally. Just keep in mind whatever type of finish you do apply will darken the wood and pallets vary in age and use different species of wood. This can result in uneven colors after a finish is applied. But, that maybe a cool look. Pallets are full of surprises when finished.
That is really nice.
Thank You!
Awesome spice rack, aka hot sauce holder. Beautiful results. What are the dimensions of this rack? I'm a new retired nurse who is a novice project builder in Mobile, AL. Can I built this rack using one or two pallets. Like would love to build one for each of my daughters and granddaughters for Christmas. Any help or hints greatly appreciated.
Thank You! I'm located somewhat nearby in Milton, FL. The dimensions are 38x24. I used 2 pallets if I remember correct and a couple of weathered fence boards to frame it in. 2 pallets are best if they are really weathered because some of the boards end up splitting and you will need some spare ones. I wrote an instuctional on the process here...
www.instructables.com/id/Spice-Hot-Sauce-Rack-From-a-Pallet/
Just remember it's a rustic look, it does not have to be perfect. If you have any questions along the way just send me a message.

Thank you
The instructions are great, didn't see them before. One more final question (I hope). How did you hang it on the wall? It must be very heavy, especially with all the bottles. I was thinking to screw it directly into the studs, but how to keeps the screws from showing in the front?
I used 2 D rings like these... www.lowes.com/pd/Hillman-4-Pack-D-Ring-Large-Picture-Hangers/3029190 ..... mounted on the back at the top. They were rated for about 50 lbs for each. I then used 2 heavy duty drywall screws rated at 75 lbs a piece. It has some weight to it for sure.
Beautiful....
Thank You!
Do you make and sell them? I would love one like that!
great project but i was wondering. why is there gaps in your miters? i was going to build one of those miter sleds thinking it gives perfect miters is that not the case? please and thank you.
the wood itself is what caused the imperfect miters. It was so old and cracked and warped that after I cut the miters they split a bit. Perfect miters were not my goal though. It was going to be a rustic looking piece, so I was not concerned with perfection.
I noticing the same thing while I'm building mine. Yes, the boards themselves are not exactly straight, that's the reason. Guess you would need to use a jointer if you wanted to solve that problem. I just went with it because the shelves and spices, etc. will cover up a lot of the detail.
Where are you located and how much do you charge?
SWEET!!
Thank you
Hot sauce doesn't need to be refrigerated after opening?
Thomas Smith most commercially bottled hot sauces can sit around for a few years - just make sure it is vinegar-based with no fruits or vegetables. The color may change, but it won't spoil. After i open a bottle, if I don't finish it within 6 months I throw it in the refrigerator.
spice rack with some yummy hot sauces.....mmmmmmm
Very nice
3:10 what was that ball fur thing?
Steel wool
I take it you like hot sauce. 😋
Just a bit
@@ChadMakesIt me too
Wonderful! Thanks
thank you!
Wow! are you selling spice racks?
not currently, too many other projects going on. But, I may be at a later date.
Whooooa!!!! I'd say that was more of a "HOT SAUCE'' rack than a spice rack....did ya check out the array of hot sauces on that shelf?!?!?!?!!!!!!
What is the dimensions and specs of your work table? Thsnks
4 ft by 4 ft, mdf and 2x4s on locking casters
Got it. Thanks for sharing
Apple cider vinegar, white vinegar and what other things?
nice video...
Thank You!
Super!!!
Thank You!
Skills
If only i had a handy man!! I had to buy mine for 125$😭
"Spice Rack," pft. Clearly more of a hot sauce rack. Don't hide your addiction to the burn. 😂
Thank You!
NICE
Thank You
"Like"!!! What a gorgeous design. If I counted right, you used 4 different saws in the making of this rack. You never hit a nail! I waited and waited and waited..... Id have wound up buying new blade for each of my saws! Again anyway - great design! I love it!
Dan Hartman thank you very much!
Black bungee cord = hold anything
Nice. Spice rack.I.wish I could make one for my wife.after 35 yrs.of marriage.
Scott Michels thank you! Give it a shot
These boards already had splits and cracks and would have broken easily from prying. It was a really old pallet.
para que se usa el borax??
to clean the wood that had been outside for a very long time, helps get ride of bugs and pests
cool
thanks!
Wouldn't it have been easier to pry the boards and de-nail them than use the reciprocating saw?
Do u like hot sauce
Just a bit
It’s just like making a quilt.
Just give him the wood and he'll build you a cabinet....
finger-lickin' good, y'all !
@@ChadMakesIt you got it bud 😁
In my first work I always used Woodglut plans.
Make it wooden with the help of the woodglut instructions.
I made it with Woodglut plans!
Nicely done but don’t use pallet wood! You have no idea what has been spilled on that pallet during its life of service! Could be toxic waste for all you know. I like your design but for the sake of my family’s health I will but some nice NEW walnut or something, but never a pallet! You shouldn’t even burn those damn things! There bad all the way round. But again your design is nice.
another video for the deaf!!!??
