So I have an audition in like 30 minutes and I’m terrified. It’s for a choir called broadway show choir. I actually talked to shayde about it (hi shayde maybe) and she really helped. Thanks so much for liking and commenting on my posts
Katherine Steele Also I have an audition for the Addams Family at my school on Monday and I’m excited and nervous and AHHHH. All that aside I hope you’re having a good day!!!🤗🤗
1. I may or may not have squealed when you mentioned John Mulaney 2. I just recently auditioned for Mary Poppins Jr. and I am currently getting ready to audition for my school's production of Mamma Mia. Love ya Kat! Hope you are having a great day
6:27 and on, that was POWERFUL. We're all trying to make our mark and art is such a direct way to that, to expression. No wonder its the most ilusive type of career, no wonder it feels like such an honor to get a spot in that world.
My question: What's with broadway characters wanting things to burn? I think we all need to appreciate how gorgeous our internet drama club president is, like damn if you wanted my wig you could've just asked for it. Also my next audition is Peter and the Starchatcher in a couple weeks and I'm hoping for Peter!
This came at like the perfect time. I was feeling pretty awful after we had our costume call today for Joseph & tATDC as there was some obvious favouritism of the skinnier girls getting much nicer costumes and us slightly larger girls getting told to buy some spanx and given awful baggy costumes. But your positivity and love for theatre absolutely outshone any negative feelings I had. Thank you Kat. Please don't ever let your sparkle get dull. ✨
I just finished an audition for Little Shop Of Horrors on Tuesday and I got a callback! I have no idea what to expect, so I’m nervous, but I’m also excited! This is my first audition at my high school, I’m a freshman, and I know not many freshmen ever get callbacks!! I’m looking forward to doing my best though!
My school is doing that show too! Idk when auditions are (they haven’t announced the dates yet) but I don’t think I’m gonna get a part because I feel like no part really fits me and my skills. Still gonna try though because you never know!
When Katherine blesses you with a video after doing 2 hours of AP psych notes Also I’m auditioning for my school’s production of Almost Maine and it’s my first play
I'm about to be Mrs. Meers in a high school competition production Thoroughly Modern Millie! Its the biggest role I have ever had and I'm really excited to bring what I can to the show and entertain my community! Your videos bring me so much inspiration to do better as a theatre kid and im so incredibly thankful for you!
My mom helps a lot in my schools drama department and I often get leads in our show and everyone thinks that the reason I get leads is because my mom helps out, but that's not true, I'm very professional, I'm organized, I probably have the most experience and training in my department, and I've been working with the director since I was 8, and I love acting, and it sucks when people discredit all of my the time and work I put in to auditioning and just assume I got the lead just cause my mom helps out, thanks for talking about the other side!
Not a show or a role cause I'm an instrumentalist (mostly found in the pit oops) but I'm prepping for college music program auditions so that's something!! Only slightly stresseddddd
Hi Kat, I'd just like to say thank you. A few years ago, I decided I wanted to be in musical theater. I was 11. I found your videos on accident. Now I'm older, and I made it into a Theatre Under the Stars musical where I live, my dream, which will start after lockdown. Thank you so much, I watch your videos all the time, and they've saved me from so many audition fails and mishaps, and your stage fright video got me the through my first school play, where I started. I wouldn't be where I am without you, the queen of the internet. Thank you for letting me be in your cult.
I had an audition on Wednesday and we are getting the casting today (I auditioned late) it's for school of rock the Broadway one and I'm so excited to start it x
Katherine I am actually so thankful for you! Without you I wouldn’t have gotten this far, I just had my audition yesterday for my first high school theatre show, the little mermaid. I got cast as jetsum, ensemble, and the chef’s understudy, and I was the only freshman to get a role, and I beat out a few of the older kids, so like thank youuuuuu so much.
i’ve done dance for 10 years and if i hadn’t done ballet i wouldn’t be nearly as good as i am now. it’s probably one of the most important styles, and even though you might think that you should jump straight into jazz at first, i waited a while until i did and my previous ballet experience helped me a bunch to learn the new style. i agree with kat completely!!!
I was just cast in the choir in Disney's "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" at a local community theatre!! It was my first audition outside of a school show, and I'm so happy I got cast because the score is breathtaking!! All my years of chorus experience are coming in handy :) Love your videos!
My school is doing Freaky Friday the musical! I’m in eighth grade so I’m at the top of the school, and I really want Ellie! There is another girl in my grade, and always gets the mom roles, so she’s pretty much guaranteed to get Katherine, so it’s an everyone else for themselves thing. This is really what I needed right now! I have had a weird experience with a theatre. I love it but my mom thinks there is too much favoritism but your speech about these people deserving it and trying to be like that person was something really great for me!
“It’s a cult... let’s be real...” also I have audition in 2 week we did a cold read today and it was so fun! It’s for Shrek and I don’t know who to audition for! I’m so excited but it’s a bunch of high schoolers and im one of the few middle schoolers.
I’m going into 8th grade and I got into my schools musical this year and I’ve never done it before..I’m super nervous so I’m binging your videos right now
Where I live, most theatre places aren't near/accessible. Everything is way over priced and all the theatres are in the cities. It sucks because I haven't done theatre since 3rd grade due to it not being accaseable. My school doesn't even have a drama program, and choir is only taught for 6th grade and under. T-T
THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO! You are always so helpful and your positivity just radiates through the screen!! Including Jerusha in Daddy Long Legs, Mae Tuck in Tuck Everlasting, Belle in Beauty and the Beast, Audrey in Little Shop of Horrors, and Joanna in Sweeney Todd!! I'm super excited about every single one!!! :)
Do you have any tips for doing two shows at once while balancing school? I'm currently playing Nora in Brighton Beach Memoirs and Fiona in Shrek the Musical!
♡ I'm really excited because I'm auditioning for Mayzie in Seussical! I think I'm gonna use "Diva's Lament" from Spamalot for my audition, because it is very Diva-y and confident, like Mayzie! If you have any other audition song suggestions, let me know! I'm kinda scared though because its an adult show, and they are looking for a 20-40 year old, but I know the auditioners and they are open to it and are excited (I emailed and asked). I have high hopes though because its my complete character type, and I play older generally, so yeah! Love you! ♡
I’m prepping for bring it on auditions for Randall at my high school and I’m extremely nervous because I’m a freshman and we can only choose our songs based off of voice type and mines all over the place. HELP!!!!!!!!!
@@victorpascucci4 I haven't seen Bring it On (at least not a stage version) so I guess go for which song goes best with the character? If he has a deep voice go for a baritone song, if it's higher go for tenor.
Oh my gosh I had an audition yesterday! It was my first musical theatre audition (I’m a senior in high school, and go to a school of arts so people there are crazy talented). I wasn’t going to but my friend pushed me to do it so I agreed. Anyways I auditioned for Sister Act (which I’ve never actually heard of but now really like). Anyways I sand “I could be that guy” and was SOOOO nervous but just acted it out and pretended to be super confident. But today I got a callback and I was soooooo shocked and oh my gosh it was amazing. I have NEVER auditioned for a musical and am not really an actor but out of 90 people they only gave callbacks to 20. It was so crazy. The cast list comes out tomorrow and honestly no matter what I just really hope I get at least into ensemble. Wish me luck! 💛
I am shook by this look today wow ok Katherine I see you!?!? This denim with that shirt and those rings and the hair and the makeup, I'm actually weak. Wow you're a fashion icon of the world. Keep it up goddess.
I just auditioned for Elf the Musical Jr. and I got in so I’m very excited about that✨ Also next week I’m auditioning for My Son Pinocchio Jr. so if I get in, I’ll be doing a LOT. I’m very very very excited
I AUDITIONED FOR ALMOST MAINE AND GOT MY DREAM PART IM SO HAPPY 😂😂😂. This is the first time I’m playing a role that I feel passionate about, so I’m happy the hard work finally paid off.
I’ve been subscribed for a while but I’ve never commented on your videos before. I just started rehearsals last night for a 40th anniversary show at my local theatre and I have a quite a few solos which is really exciting! I’m usually in the chorus lol I’ve been involved in a few high school productions before but your videos have seriously helped me so much with my auditions and performances in general. Thank you so much, You’re honestly a blessing❤️
Welcome to our cult!!!! Jenny runs the Aaron Tveit blood sacrifice booth on Tuesdays, and you can always ask Nathan for a word if you need help with selling your soul(s) to Creepy Shoulder Girl
5:39 if that person keeps getting cast and they are pleasant and professional, 9 times out of 10 they are a great person to talk shop with. So become friends with them, support them, and ask them for help. I’m not a great dancer, but I made friends with the dance captain for my show who was just stupid amazing. He invited me to take his class at his studio, and he worked with me on stuff. I still talk to him after I moved to Colorado, and he’s still killing it. It’s nice because I know I have a good cheerleader in my corner who will celebrate my dance victories.
I honestly CANT WAIT to see your portfolio of work! I saw you and met you at Into the Woods and I wanted to see Loves Labors Lost, but I was super busy at the time. I feel like I love musical theater as much as actors do, but I don't really want to be an actor, haha! I gotta say, we both live in California, we both love musical theater, and we're both around the same age! You are the UA-camr I want to be friends with the most!! Love you! And yes, this is totally a cult!!
In August I auditioned for my first professional performance. I watched all of your audition videos right before I left. And I got a call back! And then I got in! You help out so much and I love your work. The show starts next week, and I'm super excited to finally perform in my first professional show. Thanks for all of your help, you really do help all of us out. Just finished auditioning for Aladdin at my school. For no role in particular. But I do get a role because those only in my theatre three class can audition for it. But last full audition was for Almost Maine and I got Gayle! Once again, thank you for all that you do. Keep up the great work kat! Love ya Drama Mama. So happy to be apart of this "cult". -Kyra
ah kath! i just got into a show, and its all thanks to you!! im doing antigone in my very talented high school and im so happy! i watch all your videos and its prepared me to actually get a role! thank you❤️
Omg Katherine!!!! You just convinced my parents for me to let me take ballet!! I let them watch the part of the video when they talked about dance, and they agreed I’ve been wanting to take a dance class for a while, and as both an aspiring Christine Daae and a beginning musical theatre actress who only can sing and act, I needed this class. Not only do you inspire me and give great advice, but you made an impact on my parents too💗💗💗
Well, I have a audition for Legally Blonde soon and I keep reminding myself that i get at least ten minutes to be a actress, doing something that i love and then it’s out of my hands. This video was actually helpful, and I have never clicked on anything so fast!!
I’m auditioning for mama Mia in 9 days for the local theater in my town & it’s my first ever. And I’m having a bit of preparation and coaching/mentoring. But I’m so happy I found your channel it has been so helpful!!!😻
In about a week, I’m auditioning for a local opera program and I’m SOOO excited. The roles always go to the kids who are actually like planning on singing in college, but I still love being in the ensemble cause it’s a great show
I just went to callbacks for Helena in Midsummer Nights Dream, and it went awesome because my scene partner (playing Hermia) was a girl that I’ve done fight scenes with in the past (she was Abigail when I was Betty in the Crucible) so we were used to each others stage presence in that regard and it went great we were able to move around the stage and be comfortable up there (we’ve also both read it so we knew the scene well enough to know what was happening). So all in all it was one of my best auditions in a while (I haven’t had one that went well in a longgg timeee)
I'm prepping for High School Musical as Ryan, cant wait. It is a school performance but its like at a proper theatre and stuff, honestly so happy, great cast, i was very lucky to get the role. Bop to the top dont ever stop hehe
Omg this was so helpful, thank you. As a freshman who just went to a theater interest meeting, this helps a lot. Thanks Katherine I can always trust you😁
Just auditioned for Lucy in Dracula. So excited to find out if I got the role!!! I've been watching your videos for about a year now and you always give such good advice. Love you beautiful ❤️

Finally a video towards younger ones!! Love you Katherine
So happy to be apart of this "cult".

yes ! community theater musical and play (locally written) but very fun !
Not only do you inspire me and give great advice, but you made an impact on my parents too💗💗💗
i’ve been doing theater for about 7-8 years but theater tips still helped sm
Ahhh love that you mentioned John Mulaney! I admire his writing and comedy so much I hope to do similar works some day.
The roles always go to the kids who are actually like planning on singing in college, but I still love being in the ensemble cause it’s a great show
i’m currently in the addams family rehearsals and i’m loving it!
