      Some people don't wash their hands afterwards I guess. You leave enough jalapeno or garlic oil on your hands (like me cutting up 4+ huge ones or 10+ garlic cloves) it does eventually sink in and burn dry skin. Mine soak it up faster because they are dry, but even so it needs to be a lot of oil. But maybe also very sensitive skin or something.

    Wtf why are people saying their hands burn from touching jalapeño? Unless you’ve got cuts or something, you shouldn’t feel it at all. I’ve never had them burn my hands otherwise lol

    • @julialee143
      @julialee143 4 роки тому +43

      razrv3lc some peppers have higher amounts of the oil in them. My Mexican friends mom who has been making homemade salsa for over 30 years every week without fail complained about it recently... it was completely random but her hands were on fire for days. It had never happened to her before but some peppers are exceptionally spicy and can leave your hands a wreck. It happened to me once and when I told her about it she totally couldn’t relate until recently when it happened to her!

      Omg your lucky. I made homemade jalapeño poppers once. I was in so much pain I was crying. I had no cuts on my hands but they were on FIRE. Even under my fingernails were on fire. The jalapeño poppers were really good, but I cannot make them without gloves. Even with gloves I’m still afraid of feeling that pain again.

    • @drednal1558
      @drednal1558 4 роки тому +10

      Usually I don’t get burnt but out of my many times I have handled jalapeños I have felt THE BURN one time. You don’t need cuts on your hand for it to burn. The capsaicin is absorbed into your skin. I’d say just don’t get a lot of the inside on your skin and don’t wash your hands with any warm or hot water. If it does burn use lemon juice or olive oil (among other things) to nullify the burn.

    • @paulaw418
      @paulaw418 4 роки тому +8

      @@julialee143 I think it has to do with how much oil is in the pepper. It's not a regular burning either. Not Like getting jalapeno juice in a cut on your hand or if it squirts you in the eye when you cut it. Though both hurt like hell.
      This is like it's deeper in your hands. As if somebody turned the thermostat up but only on your hands. Its like in between your fingers & under the skin, like you cannot wash it off & it starts several hours later not right away, usually right before bed. & it doesn't happen every time. Some days you can chop 20-30 peppers, no effect. Others you could slice up 2 & get jalapeno hand. & it can even happen on a milder jalapeno than what you're used to. No rhyme or reason to it, so I wear plastic gloves now whenever I cut any peppers that have any heat whatsoever.
      I did hear that if you have dry skin your hands are more likely to soak up the oil, so before cutting moisturize your hands with olive oil or avocado oil.

      Jalapeño Peppers
      ---‐---------------------
      spicy is a taste
      that some never acquire
      it burns their tongue
      they roll their eyes
      their stomach is on fire
      a lot of us like peppers
      regardless if they are mild or hot
      but be prepared for the end results
      when you go to use the pot
      the heated vein called capsaician
      surrounds the picante seeds
      to cool the heat while you're eating
      some milk is all you need
      jalapenos are my favorite pepper
      I stuff them sometimes with cheese
      it matters not if it's cream or cheddar
      the flavor is a taste to please
      I enjoy the spice and the heat
      and the flavor that sorta stung
      I sold my soul to the devil
      when the jalapena pepper
      touched my tongue

    I can't believe that there are a ton of people out there who don't know that the seeds in peppers contributes drastically to the amount of heat in it. Like seriously, the seeds contain capsaicin which is the chemical that causes the heat. I have to teach people almost daily that you have to clean your peppers out if you don't want your food to be that spicy. But yeah, just wanted to see if anybody else has this problem.

    What goes in the pan after melted butter and crushed garlic? I can't make out the last ingredient she mentions.
    My friend's mother in-law always made these, but she passed. One of my favorite appetizers, but I always miss something when I make them. She also wrapped them in bacon.

    These are stuffed jalapeños, not "jalapeño poppers". Lol
    Still look bomb though. Gonna give the recipe a try.

    Seeds have nothing to do with the amount of spice. All the spice comes from the oils, there is no capsaicin in the seed just juice on the pod...

    They sell these already made at the store. Ranged from $11 to $15 DOLLARS for maybe 6 or 7 of them..
    Making them yourself saves you a TON of money.. My G-d the price markup just to have someone else make them for you. You still have to cook them yourself either way, but what's a few 5 more mins to do it this way and SAVE ALOT of money..

    For one. If a Jalapeno burns whether it be hands, mouth, ect. You're a baby. Two. Just thought it was funny she has zero accent except when saying Jalapeno. 😁

    I’ve never seen jalapeños that size..? They look exactly like small peppers to me - my friend grew them in her garden over summer & gave some to me for cooking. Jalapeños are much smaller!

    The heat is not in the seeds, it's in the placenta, the white part inside.

      Melody Trotter I don’t see placentas on my spicy jalapeño wings and they’re extra hotttttttt when I eat one with seeds on it.

    • @RealMelodyBlue
      @RealMelodyBlue 3 роки тому

      @@jjeessz there's no heat in the seeds, you can take the seeds and wash them and eat them, no heat. The placenta is the white stuff inside that the seeds are stuck to. If it's sauce, you have placenta in it 😁

    HEAT. IS. NOT. IN. THE. SEEDS. The placenta has heat. Removing seeds does not affect heat. Biggest pep misconception known to man , doesn’t help when Gordon Ramsay perpetrates such lol
