I’m a simple man I see a new Shainblum video and I watch it. Every damn time.
Same
you are the man Joshua thank you so much!
That cape rarely disappoints.
Hey Michael,
it’s always so impressive to see how much you thrive in photography - your creativity is truly something special! I’m from Northern Germany myself and have been into photography for many years, but I keep discovering new and inspiring ideas through your work. You have such an incredible eye for moments and details. It’s really amazing that someone like you exists. Keep it up - you’re a fantastic photographer! ❤
This is the most spectacular vlog I have ever seen. Thank you Michael!
the start of your video is fabulously cinematic and the light is gorgeous! Really enjoyed the whole video well done
Amazing! Almost like Poseidon leashing his fury!
STUNNING! I would love to see what you could capture at Niagara Falls this time of the year with all of the snow, ice coated trees and rocks. I really enjoy shooting The Falls this time of the year!
Awesome and Beautifully. Really liked the drone eye level perspective footage of the waves out at sea. And of course the amazing shots.😮🎉
Man!! I am not a wave/waterfall photographer kind of guy, but as a landscape photographer, I believe I have not seen anyone do this type of photography better than you! Amazing job! Wow.
Absolutely amazing and fabtastic post production work. The sea was like raging and you didnt seem to be exposed to the wind. Crazy. You are just a genius young man. I love when you do videos about waves.
There’s good photographers,
THEN, there’s Michael Shainblum…. Superb work as always mate.
What an incredibly cool series of photos and video images. Beautiful to see. Thanks for sharing!
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks so much for watching!
Stunning! Your photos and footage always blow me away! ❤🌊❤
8:36 is so epic!
I remember something I read from a book 'You do something, and you obsess.' Every final photo you take contains feelings, and the story behind it. I'm sure it takes time and effort. Amazing work-success to you
Wow!! Just incredible work here Michael. I so look forward to your videos because I know it will be full of great stuff and advice. I am located in Oregon and get out to the coast a few times each year, but I have yet to get lucky with the conditions to capture images of these amazing waves. By the way, the wave crashing into the cliff at 14:05 in the video looks like it has an image of a human face in the middle. You can make out the eyes, nose and mouth. Wonderful!
Frickin awesome shots Michael!
Totally amazing 🌊🌊🌊💪💪💪
Wow! Loved all of these images and your creative way of thinking. The drone and cliff presceptives are my favorite, being above the action. Outstanding work as always! 🌊
Espectacular🙌
Beautiful images, congratulations! Oregon coast is on my list.
Wow! It’s amazing to me that the rocks don’t erode even faster under this onslaught.
Amazing photography, definitely see faces and animals.
Thank you, keep up the great work.
Probably one of your best, Michael. Not just the stills, but the videography too. I may be biased on the subject, anything water related is great. Nice job. Send some of those big waves to the east coast so I can shoot them :)
So stunning! Great video
How Cool Michael.
Just got back from a king tide trip myself. Like you, I'm hooked. Shooting big waves is a blast!
Your pictures are all incredibly stunning ! Wow ! At 12:39. What i am seing is a hyena attacking a wildebeest. 😀
This looks like the January King tides this year; I took a friend and introduced her to photography that weekend. I shot my new mirrorless and set her up with the Rebel T6 I started with. She did very well, even with the funky light of the sunsets and inside Sealion Caves; I'm very proud of her. 🥹 Our peak high tide spots were Thor's Well, Ecola State Park, and Cape D. It was fun to see a couple of those spots in here, and I've shared it with her.
You have such an amazing eye for abstract photography, Michael. The photos you shared in this video are fantastic. I can’t tell you how much I look forward to your new videos. Thank you for sharing your work with us.
Classic Shainblum - just brilliant
I gotta say I love your approach to simplistic landscape photography. Your colors and contrasts are always perfect, and most of all, I appreciate that you never overdo your images. In a time where everything is edited and artificial, i feel like you are going the absolutely right way:) best from Austria
Outstanding work. I especially loved the drone footage. Just awesome!
Another epic video! Loved it. Such amazing shots
Such an inspirational video> Now I want to go and shoot waves all day long!
beautiful shots!
Absolutely amazing and as always very inspiring, thanks to your choice of interesting themes! Enjoyed it a lot! Thanks Michael...will stay tuned
Absolutely stunning work! Unbelievable footage! Stallions going into ocean regarding wave formation you inquired about. Definitely will be watching this video several times!!! Thanks for sharing.
Yet again, high quality work. Those crashing waves shots, just epic. Just as good as Rachel Talibart's work.
Absolute stunning. Thank You!
So many great shots and yea totally wolf wave! Normally high wind and clouds are my enemy but those shots are amazing
So epic! Love how you’re able to make beautiful images in ANY condition, even if the waves are huge like at Cape Disappointment. Your telephoto work is incredible. Thank you🌊
So many creatures and shapes, so many creative moments frozen in time. I so wish I was there! You is da man! 👨🏻
thanks so much, Man. I really appreciate it! Hope you are doing well.
@ very well man, and the same to you. Keep em flowing 😍👍
That was such a great day at the Cape. Great meeting you there. Cheers.
Fantastic lesson!!, thanks Michael
AMAZING PICTURES !!! 😍
thank you 😊
That 'wolf wave' was a great shot. Amazing vlog as always.
Wow, where do you start with seeing things in those wave images…there’s Faces, Animal faces , monsters, creatures , aliens you name it…another beautiful Shainblum vlog 😊
Amazing!❤
Always amazing!
I've been there and am so jealous of the shots you got! Great tips. Your eyes are probably still crossed from editing all you took!
Hi Michael,
I urgently need to give you my Sigma 100-400 so that I can get such great shots.
Many thanks for showing me something new, I'm always happy to see something new from you.
Best regards Carsten/ Germany👍
As always amazing images. Thank you
epic mate! 👏
Stunning Photos and interpreting the photos like a mythical beast fighting to add beauty to the story.
Awesome! Love the slo mo
Michael, those images and videos are simply incredible! I must witness for myself. I’ll be looking at your workshop schedules. Thanks for sharing this.
Wow, at 12:52 the shape in the dead center looks like a human neck & head, like Poseidon rising out of the water, cool shot!
Dang, it makes me want to head to the Oregon Coast. Well done, Michael! One of those waveshots made me think of Cerberus.
One of your best videos. Thank you for sharing. So much classier than your old friend Gavin.
Great pictures, certainly your dog/wolf wave where the lighting and colours were amazing
thanks so much!
I saw it as a lion but that’s just me 😁
Just amazing
thanks for watching!
The image @8:20 looks like there are 2 horses coming from the splash. One with its head looking forward, and the one to the right of it with its head lowered. Reminds me of the river scene in the Fellowship of the Ring.
enjoyed this great video and top draw photos cant wait for more
Thanks for the video, at 17:16 I see faces coming off the rocks top right hand side, and when you where showing that picture about a dog and wolf at the end of your video the wolf look like a horse I think because the picture was not zoomed in. Keep up the great work.
Love the angry power of the waves you caught. I spent Christmas week shooting waves around Monterey and got some of my favorites photos. Just disappointed I didn’t make the drive back up to Half Moon Bay where there were 60-80 foot waves at Maverick. Next year…
You can never go wrong with big waves at Cape Disappointment, nor can the 50 other photographers which will also be there lol haha.
Ein traumhafter Spot wohl unerreichbar für mich, danke für das zeigen, diese Ausrüstung liegt sehr weit über meinem Budget
Good Eye...Bravo!
Have to visit Cape Disappointment in winter one day.
Thanks!
thank you so much Edwin. I really appreciate it!
Long time fan and viewer of your channel (I finally hit the subscribe button-duh). The images with the green water in the waves are my favorites. After watching your (and Nick Page’s) wave videos from the PNW coast, I just have go there. Where can I find information about the best times of the year to go (in addition to the King Tide events)? Thank you!
13:20 - 14:45 is the money shot
Fantastic images! How do you expose for the highlights within the breaking waves. I have had to dump great wave images in the past because of the rapid changes in brightness.
For many types of photos, you have to be patient.📸🏃🏃🏼♀️🧗🌌🌄🌅🏕🏞🌠⛈️🌫☄️🪐🎆😂😂😂💪
Great video, thank you. I can’t wait for the next big wave event near me. Is that the Tamron 150-500 you were using?
WOOOOW! How much post processing was involved here?
Hey Michael……what’s your expectation for wave action in Ireland this September?
Spectacular! The drone shots are great. One question, what tripod head do you recommend for landscape photography?
Amazing stuff. Which lighthouse is that?
13:23. there is face in the wave another.that looks like a inca at 14:09 I have been there a few times and got a demon once
Beautiful shots - I almost see a bull in that one image. Are king tides generally a good predictor of those huge waves, or do you look at swell forecasts as well?
If that doesn’t wet your appetite to shoot waves nothing will 👌👏👏
Were you shooting all day for waves?
Thanks Michael that was amazing. Have you had any big wave success in low light at dusk and dawn or with moonlight?
hey, thanks so much. I have shot some at sunset and sunrise. But the challenge becomes when you don’t have enough light to freeze the wave motion. Although slight long exposures can be fun to try to. I did some stuff like that this trip but honestly, they didn’t turn out as cool as the images I showed here.
💙
Nazaré, Portugal. When do you want to go?
12:52 The head and shoulders of Poseidon erupting out of the ocean?
I don't like big words, I like big numbers like 10/10
No wonder Gavin is jealous. Never seen waves like these... 😂
Please I want to know what you do with these pictures do you sell them or do you just do it for fun
Did I catch an Abe's Odyssey reference in there!?
Would love it if in your videos you told us your location. It would another layer of education, inspiration, motivation, and help us go do some of our own scouting too. Or if you added it to the description.
