- #Ad Things are not going well at all in the Painting Coach Household! My commitment to painting 2000 points of Astra Militarum by the summer is hanging by a thread as I try to keep up with my good friend Ben! Check in on how much trouble I am in with this latest video! This is part 2 of a 3 part series that will culminate in a battle report style video between hopefully, 2 very nicely painted 2000 point forces!

Having to paint under a camera must be tough and restricting. I sit in weird positions and move the mini all around when I paint. So kudos to you for filming and painting. Your work looks amazing
Thanks 👍🏻
Lol, I have always wondered how the hell folks who do this UA-cam thing for painting manage it, there's absolutely no way I could handle it
You're an awesome painter man, so if anybody can do it, it is definitely you. I feel like you should just add a bunch of tanks to fill the 1300 point void though. Much easier to paint than 100+ infantry. Tyranids also have a difficult time cracking armor in 10th, so you would have an in game advantage over him there. Bit of an off topic random question but have you ever considered doing a Shalaxi Helbane painting tutorial? It's such a cool looking model and nobody on YT has a good tutorial on it. It's just Keeper of Secret videos, which are not the same. Shalaxi is arguably one of the more difficult 40K models to paint imo because of the blending techniques involved. The video would for sure get a bunch of views becuase nobody else has one and it's a great opportunity to really show off your skills. Anyway, love the videos! Wish you the best! :)
Thank you! Just built my 3rd Russ hull today 🤣 maybe I will pick up a Shelaxi model - no immediate plans too though!
Sorry to hear about your back! Nothing worse when you want to paint! But it looks amazing 🙂
Thanks! Back and army getting there slowly 😅
Mate that looks fantastic. Looking forward to the next installment
Thanks!
@@ThePaintingCoach thanks really appreciate it 🙏
That’s awesome! I’m building a 3k cadian army based on your earlier tutorial for the standard cadian paint scheme. Was wondering when you were going to update about your army build! Please keep this series up!
Will do 😁
Glad to see you are still working on this project despite the setbacks. I have really enjoyed the videos so far. Can't wait for the future battle reports.
Thanks!
Love it. I was planning to paint my guard with some blue armour to theme them along side my ultramarine army. I was going to do their uniform as per your cadian turorial and just do the armour blue. But the grey looks so much better! Long live the smurf millitarium
Cheers 👍🏻
Man that is fantastic!
Cheers mate 😁
This showed up at random in my feed, and I’ve not seen your stuff before.
Beautiful paint work. Have a sub.
Cheers,
Thanks!
Great Job, I love the colour scheme!
Thanks!
Great video inspired me to get on with my own guard pipe of shame. Going desert theme but yours is tempting me back to blue grey!
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it!
This looks absolutely awesome!! I actually found your buddies channel today anf watched a few of his videos then naturally came over here to check out yours too. Amazing work 😁
Thanks!
Ah yes, Ultramar Auxilia! Or some Inquisitorial force... agents of the imperium codex around the corner 👀
Allegedly so!
Great job! Keep it up!
Thanks!
Shame about the back injury, hope you're better now and won't have any more issues.
That scheme is FIRE btw, and this is from a guy who hates Imperial Guards.
Thanks for the suggestion on how to paint vehicle.
Thanks! It's getting there slowly! The back and the army 😅
@@ThePaintingCoach Don't worry about the army, as long as you're having fun. Take care of your health first, always. Cheers, wish you the best.
Thank you 👍🏻
@@ThePaintingCoach Oh, I forgot to ask: if it's possible, would you consider bringing Ben on to talk about his scheme too? Looks nice. Maybe this could also help making more videos, since you'd only have to record and not paint on camera.
@@eallaterza Here you go - Ben has put his scheme up here: ua-cam.com/video/yLpU1S7duw4/v-deo.htmlsi=sOe4yN0h2_IxKNlP
Nice tank job.
Cheers
Cracking job! Tank looks stunning 👏🏼
Thanks!
Doesn’t it!
lol I’m determined to finally get some Skaven this year and have that be the only army I get. But then I saw this thing of Skeletons for Frostgrave and now I’m thinking I can squeeze those in too. And then my local shop got the Kroots and now I’m trying to convince my self I can do that too.
But I gotta stay focused. Skaven. Only Skaven.
But I also recently purchased Heorquest and a few expansions for my BDay…. Man one army commitment is hard.
Skaven though. Skaven man. Gotta get some Skaven.
Ramble over
Well done
What a great result!!
Thanks!
Love how the Dorn came out, I've got a couple to paint myself so might have to pick up some of the panel liner! :D
Thanks! Yeah it is a massive time saver!
Very nice 👍
Sometimes you just need to get things done quick. If it's because there's a deadline looming, or maybe you just want it out of the way. Byron's method for vehicles is awesome. It's blazing fast and looks great too! I've used it on all my vehicles since the plastic Spartan released and it's been great.
Ben's Nids are awesome looking! Can we get a little peek at how he painted them perhaps?
He's done a video on it - there's a link in the description to the third one - I think the second is the one with the paint scheme
Hi love your videos
KitbashCarnage hear at the age of 31 iv recently got back into the warhammer/kitbashing community agen after taking 15year brake to pay bills and so on .
I have taken the leap head on and started a youtube channel along with Instagram, Facebook and Tiktok. It's hard with my dyslexia and not being as young as the others as this algorithm thing is somthing to get used to along with editing and so on but my love and the flame for my lost passion has been reignited more then ever and dont plan on stopping soon .
Along with having lots of content plans and already in the pipeline and also a Revamp to all social media with new header picture and profile picture from a digital contractor I sorced I hope to just gain more traction to the community iv came back to .
Regards
KitbashCarnage
Thanks 👍🏻 good luck on the journey!
amazing!
Lets hope he can catch up XD Looks great
Having watched this... The scheme is a lot like the one I've been thinking for my Ultramar PDS
Yeah I thought they were quite reminiscent of that! I will see if anyone has any suggestions for a guard regiment
Thank you for sharing; For the Basecoat on the Tank, are you stippling/dabbing or circular motion?
Mainly circular, stippling where I can't get it in 👍🏻
Hope your backs better
Getting there thanks!
The Guard are such a hard army to collect 😅 so much infantry. Looks damn good on the tabletop though.
True story!
Easy arial fix: metal wire
That's what I did 😁
@@ThePaintingCoach Just started to watch. :)
God i was working on my Guard, now i’m sitting here building up CSM lol.
You had me all concerned there!!! Hyping it up that your in trouble!! 🤦♂️😂😂😂
2000points thats a walk in the park for a pro like your self!! 😜
Like what you did tho looks fantastic, and you definitely put me off dry pigments too!! 😂😂
Much prefer liquid! I have sooooo muxh to do 😱🤣
@@ThePaintingCoach dare i ask, how much is left ??
I have been struggling myself with the leviathan box still, bang the characters out easy but i just crash on the cannon fodder!!
I dont know how people paint Armies for commissions!! 🤦♂️😂😂
The entirety of what I have painted is on display in that video 🤣 1 infantry soldier and 1 Rogal Dorn 😱
@@ThePaintingCoach ooohhh (BLEEP)!! How many days till you are meant to play!! 🤦♂️😂😂😂
@martynjones3978 it's not set in stone - we said 'summer' 🤣
Beautiful work! Is that tank magnetized?
Thanks - it's not I'm afraid
Hey i LOVE your videos, but, what happened with the sound quality? It sounds like an AI voice, i dont know if its because It cuts too soon each phrase or some configuration
Just letting you know :P
Thanks for the feedback - have you got any time stamps I can check out? It's definitely my voice so will check to see if I did anything differently!
ah, the blue helmets. the UN is now also in 40K
All I see is more bio mass 👀
😱
1300 points? Easy peasy, grab a baneblade, couple leman russ's and a manticore, should have you at 2k in like 5 models or less 😂🤣
I've heard a Warhound Titan is 1100 points 🤣
Five or six
Seven or eight
Awh, you didnt go with the rogue trader red planetary bros? :(
No I couldn't get it to work
@@ThePaintingCoach The infantry was pretty straight forward i found. Imperium chicken walker is still up in the air
Seven or eight
For serious though, why not airbrush the tank?
I wanted to try the dry brushes, and generally air brush vids exclude a number of viewers so I like to make it as basic as possible 👍🏻
So for your guard, you'll want to drop the FOB, and the Cadians. What a great starting box.
Hi speed stippling is fun to watch
Also fun to do 😁
One or two…
😂
Artist Opus really charging people 65 bucks for a 10 dollar makeup brush set xD. Do not buy marked up "hobby" products
Does it matter what brand or type of makeup brushes you get for dry brushing or really just any puffy looking brush?
