I would have to put them side by side on dark leather to really tell. Cquartz Leather 2.0 does leave a nice finish in dark leather and vinyl. Much better than the previous version.
@@MikeGDetailing hey Mike, have you ever conditioned the leather before applying the Cquartz leather coating or is it not really advised? Clean and coat? Wondering for dryer/older leather if it's worth conditioning first, otherwise after the cleaning, the leather feels a tad dry as it's been stripped off anything on it.
@@petegangies it is not advised as the leather coating may not bond. Try it on a small area if you choose to do so and wipe it with a panel wipe. Or at least give it a couple of days before applying the coating. I have never done this so I can not comment how it would work.
Awesome video man. I'm just about to apply gyeon leather shield to my leather seats in about a week. What do you think about Gyeon Leather Shield? What's your favorite leather coat?
Leather Shield is a good leather coating. I have used it long ago and it did well. You will be happy with it. This one does not darken as much and looks factory. It also does really well to maintain it with Gyeon Leather Coat which works fantastic as a topper every few months. My favorite at the moment is Cquartz Leather 2.0 for two reasons. One is that it is water based and two it darkens the best out of the leather coatings I have used.
Would it be safe to put this or Cquartz Leather 2.0 on a dark grey top-grain semi-aniline leather recliner? I'm going to have some left over after doing my car interior and having just treated myself to a new recliner I though it'd be a good way to use up some of the remaining coating. I'm leaning towards Carpro since it's water based but Diamond Protech does look to be an excellent coating too. NV Guardian also looks to be another good option. I might end up going with Colourlock Leather Shield because it'll for sure be safe to use on non-car interior leather.
Thanks Mike!
Merry Xmas mate. Just did a cquartz leather 2.0 install. It's 4hr dry time. Great tip with the electrical tape
Thank you. Cquartz Leather 2.0 is really good. Merry Christmas.
Another great and very informative video thanks Mike, merry Christmas from the uk and keep up the great work
Thank you. Merry Christmas to you as well.
There's something called Honey Leather alot better than this product.......
@@aaronweiser5421 have you used this Diamond Protech coating? Playing devils advocate here asking this.
seems as though the cquartz 2.0 has more of a darkening affect then this one.. would you say that you shared the same observation Mike?

Can you use it on door panels and dash
You certainly can if it’s vinyl or leather.

How do you clean the leather after applying the product? And I enjoyed your video!
Thanks. I just an interior detailer like Meguiar’s Quik Interior Detailer or DIY Detail Interior Detailer. They won’t remove the coating.

Try it on a small spot first. But you should be ok using it. Colourlock would be my other recommendation as well.
