my commuter (13 ford escape) 120 miles round trip 3 - 4 times a week has DB36. west texas I20, hot, sunny, bugs, dusty, sandy, gritty wind 75 mph driving down the highway. once a week wash, 50/50 foam town usa and rinseless, minus the torture test washing as you’ve done. now we all know abrasion is the true enemy of all ceramic coatings, my DB36 has been a champ and i’m right on the 8th month mark. the front had taken a beating as well as the front roof line and the fenders behind the wheels and i thought it was pretty much failing. all those spots came right back to life after doing a waterspot remover (diydetail) and are still beading great. in my opinion, my neck of the woods, weather, and constant highway driving, i can see getting over 2 years out of of the 3 claimed by DB36 before needing another coating. of course toppers will definitely help the longevity. next month try a water spot remover treatment to see if yours is clogged and see if the beading will come back or if it’s truly weakened 👍🏽 great vid as always
I have this coating on all of my vehicles and I’m very impressed with how well it has held up as well . . Thanks for the video. Always enjoy your content. 😎👍👍
I’ve had mine on since early November. Car lives outside and I’ve deliberately not put any toppers on it. It’s still performing great, even though, since it was my first coating, it didn’t have the best of applications.
Looking good Jamie! This coating has been on my mind lately and quickly approaching a few weeks left until the temps drop here in the Pacific Northwest so I better get my rear in gear in the decon and polish department.
Great video. Very interesting. I would be curious how it holds up using different toppers each time. Just wondering how different ones would react. Thank you for doing this.
I been using using orange degreasers products for years an they are some of the strongest cleaners available. They strip waxes and coatings the best in my opinion. If a coating isn’t chemical resistant to these chemicals then it’s not all that durable but I rather see a coating fail if has to be removed. So I’m saying most people will never go to the extremes to protection coatings .
You need quick body as your topper every six months also when you applied 36 I read you have to apply it twice. Apply one wait one hour then applied second layer. You can also apply diamond body right after super for smoothness.
Appreciate the video. Would like to see continued updates with normal washes to get a real life longevity test along with a charity wrestling match with EC. We can make it a PPV and proceeds can go to Yvan’s beard oil fund. Thoughts?
Here are some thoughts...By spraying a bug chemical remover may affect the coating? Many detailers would use a mineral and or iron remover chemical, then apply a topper? What are your thoughts?
Bug & Tar remover is a caustic chemical that will remove most toppers & will damage many coatings. You should be very careful with it. Lake Country has a demonstration video on this subject on UA-cam.
What foam cannon you running here? Thick foam that sticks, mine is really old and outdated. Also could be cuz you go heavy on the shamp, to get that foamtown look but i think mine needs upgrading and the different 3.0 orifice swapped. Also jus using a basic harbor freight electric PW but does the job for what i need
Why aren’t you using the Diamond Maintenance Kit with Quick Body in the kit for the front end? I think you can get better results for the front end to keep up with the rest of the vehicle.
Thanks for the info. I'm going to go with the Adams based on there durability claims. Im going to put two coats on since my car stays outside. Love your channel. Thanks!!!!

The way this is going the front ain’t making it appreciate it j
Enjoy all the Telluride updates. Bought my 21 EX in May of 21 and you have been a great guide. I'm testing Defender, been 45 days, still going strong.

Thanks for the update. Enjoyed the video
Other than the very front not looking bad at all! Awesome JTC! 💪💪

Your face on the thumbnail screams, “Why is the UA-cam algorithm like this “…. Anyways, great video swamp man!
Yep haha and it still doesn’t work 🫠🤣

Yes, two layers is recommended 👍🏻
Can u do a video on polishing paint, I have been having trouble with DA hazing and holograms

I mean I think this is the best plan so far 💪🤣

The MJJC V3 👍🧼 best cannon on the market imo www.mjjc.com/collections/foam-cannon/foam-cannon-s-v3/?
@@JamieTheCleaner thanks thats what i thought and i was looking at also to buy….did you change out to the 3.0 also or kept the one in it
@@Orr_s no I haven’t swapped an orifice since buying MJJC foam cannons
Tried any further chemical decon on the front of that hood...water spot remover, iron remover, etc? Just curious...
I’ll try OP Spotless next time
I've never seen someone clay a ceramic coat before! Doesn't it degrade the coating, maybe putting marring into it?!
Definitely can do both gotta use the right Clay and a lot of proper lubrication 👍
Great idea need to try this 🎉🎉
Good stuff Jamie seems to still be holding up well all things considered.
Nice!!

Because we are only testing the coating by itself 👍 the maintenance kit would definitely keep you in good shape 👍🧼
What kind if wax do you use Jamie?
Hi. Speaking of clay: can I use a fine grade clay towel then coat without polishing? New Japanese car. Thanks.
Sure can 👍
@@JamieTheCleanerthanks. Esoteric says that you should *never* clay paint unless you plan on polishing. I hope I'm safe.
@@matsudakodo lots of lubrication, long linear passes, and no pressure and should turn out great 👍
How would you rate this compared to Adam's Graphene Advance ceramic coating??
I’ve never tried that one but I have tried variants of it and I would rank it higher than 36 for sure as it’s rated a lot higher and ease of install
Thanks for the info. I'm going to go with the Adams based on there durability claims. Im going to put two coats on since my car stays outside. Love your channel. Thanks!!!!
@@richardkarl879 I will say if you want just as good of a coating you could try ethos Graphene and I have a promo code for it 👍 JAMIE10

Seems like this was extremely overhyped.
I didn’t see it failing.
