I remember the first group of Tonberries I fought. I was beating them down when then suddenly one of them started to shank me, and before I knew it I was dead. I couldn't even be mad because what did I expect was going to happen?
And they chase you forever until they catch you to do it 😭 Thankfully it seems you can bait it by letting them get close and immediately dodging/jumping away before they can wind up the stab. And that's why they said Leviathan was useful against tonberries.
This is exactly why I run aerial blast in ultimaniac 😂. For real though, this stage is HARD, especially the timekeeper and those fucking coerls. I'm also not used to leviathan's moveset yet. Should practice it more, but rebirth keeps calling my name.
It's my usual, but here you go: Phoenix - Thunderstorm, Satellite Garuda - Mesmerize, Upheaval Shiva - Rift Slip, Ice Age And accessories are the disengagement bit, reflection of fire (phoenix feat) and I swap out the third one depending on what I need. Either escapement or nourishment bit, or another reflection accessory. I don't use damage accessories in arcade mode because they mess with score. Edit: weapon appearance is the fallen enforcer you get from sigma at the Sagespire.
Lol I do, but I tend to forget or I'm too slow to react. I've also been using it to get parries with lb downthrust. It's both cool and actually kind of easy to do (when I remember I can do it.)
Man, I did it on FF arcade mode first, to get some practice, and it was actually still kind of hard lol If it helps, try not to do any aoe, not even permafrost, when you're fighting two elites. One of your party members will aggro the flan for you, so you only have to think about the coeurl. Of course, there's always a chance they're going to end up fighting close to you, and you'll have to lure the coeurl away, but it makes it so much more manageable.
@@eyrestahl Ah, I see. I always go for permafrosts because it freezes both of them (sometimes), so I can sort of deal with one at a time. But I'll keep that in mind when doing Aire of Hours again.
Oof I knew this was gonna be a rough one. Speaking of which, should I try to get this Ultimaniac S rank done while I still have the Leviathan fight fresh in my head from getting the no damage medal? Or should I finish out the remaining 3 base game chapters I need for the coat? Have to do Crystalline Dominion, Drake’s Spine and Origin
I'd say go for it, but the main issue is not leviathan, it's getting to him in the first place 😅 I've gotten to Levi a grand total of one time out of about 7 attempts, and I died near the end because I kinda forgot he does a sneaky dive after some attacks. So, if you can actually make it there with an S rank, it would be good to have the fight fresh in your mind.
Oh, and btw, you only get three heals for Levi for some reason 🙃 but you do get healed back to full after the timekeeper fight (for the two very easy fights before Levi...)
@@eyrestahl I thought 3 heals was the standard for Ultimaniac eikon fights. I remember only having 3 heals for the entire titan battle. I think it was the same for Garuda too? Idk it’s been a while since Garuda. Haven’t done Bahamut yet but I think I remember seeing the heals refresh when it would switch to Phoenix and back again in your run. ALSO I just remembered I have to do kairos gate and fight the “secret” boss. Might have a go at that tonight to see how tough it is. Levi pissed me off enough to where I’m not likely to forget the encounter for a while
Tonberries just doing Tonberry things xD
part of me thinks "WHY" because it's painful but also i wouldn't have it any other way LMAO

They basically give themselves bravery and a near instant kill move WHILE STILL BLENDING IN💀 It's frustrating lol

Fighting 1 Tonberry is one thing, taking on more than 2? you were dead before the fight even started

So then he says "knife to meet you!" 😂😂😂😂
Also, these tonberries remind me of Roberto from Futurama.
what kits are you running? it looks badass and I wanna try them myself

London be like:
I feel a little guilty, but this made me laugh a bit too hard.
"I failed..."
Fuck I wish this game had a gambit system...I'm too old and decrepid for this shit.
Well, I'm older than Clive is at the end of the game, so if I can do it, so can you :)
LMAO!
Do you ever use Limit break to save yourself, I feel like thats the only time I use it aside from boss fights and difficult parry timings
Lol I do, but I tend to forget or I'm too slow to react. I've also been using it to get parries with lb downthrust. It's both cool and actually kind of easy to do (when I remember I can do it.)
jesus :O
Thats my cue to never do Aire of Hours on Ultimaniac. I'll stick to FF mode (even though its still hell, the coeurl and the flan always get me).

too much show off with very little substance. 2 AOE attacks would decimate these tonberries in 10 seconds....serves you well for playing that way.
His goal is S-Rank, not C-Rank. Showing off is the whole point of the ranking system.
@@Dr_Donald_Duckah yes silly me indeed. I didnt notice this was arcade mode. My bad and apologies.
styling is where the heart is with character action. There is no reason to min max if that isn't where you find fun.

Lol you know what, you're right. I dunno why I thought it was 6 the other times 🤔 that's m'bad, I probably got confused with my recent challenge run.
