It's action-focused, nothing ever does damage lol In Chirada's defense, though, that was quite literally the weakest attack out of her whole moveset. Not that the others do a whole lot more in action mode, but the magic attacks from Suparna are usually the ones that hurt iirc. Chirada is just there to tank. (I hope I'm getting the names right.)

@@24nero24 Satellite has three different fire modes that you can control. The little bolts you mentioned are the regular shots that fire whenever you press triangle (or whatever the magic button is if you happened to change it.) The other fire mode is a charged shot, which the satellites fire whenever you use a charged magic shot, or a precision dodge shot. And then the last mode would be the one you see in my video, which is the magic bursts. Each satellite follows up each of your magic bursts with one of their own, which adds a lot of damage and will/stagger damage to your combos. Worth noting that satellite magic bursts can only be done when you're doing magic bursts yourself. The regular shots and the charged shots can be used at any time, even when you're in the middle of another animation or when using other abilities.

Last DMC I played was 4. Series kinda fell off my radar after that, same as the reboot. Might give them a go if I get them on sale one day. I wasn't particularly good at them, though lol

Ngl, it's been a while since I did that run and I'm not gonna remember. But, as far as accessories go, I usually go with the dlc ones. Disengagement bit is my favorite, but it's only useful if you do a lot of parries. Other than that, bombardment for aerial combat, nourishment and escapement for survivability. With the rising tides already out, I added the phoenix feat accessory to the loadout and haven't taken it out once.

I've had been working on those guides, but I kept bumping into an issue of "too much info dump" so I had to change the scope a bit. They're coming eventually, but with Dawntrail coming to 14 (I also play that kind of religiously) and my friends getting me into Helldivers, it's been slow progress lol But thank you for sticking around tho! I'll try to keep the uploads going even if it's sporadically.

I don’t know about other people but I wouldn’t worry too much about info dumping I personally would love as much information as I can get lol. Have you ever considered doing commentary over your videos? I feel like what your doing would be a lot easier to understand, I get things like your shift and ability combos just by visually seeing it but there’s a lot of air combos that you do that I just cannot wrap my head around unless it’s explained, your videos are awesome man and keep it up!

I'm actually also an Ultima 1 fan. Was third for me, behind the Necrophobe and Barnabas (in Reverie.) They all got pushed one place down the ladder when the Timekeeper hit me with the slow walk.

Yep, I've only done it in action-focused, and it was extremely close after a million attempts. I will 100% be forced to upgrade my weapon, so the issue will be finding the right one that makes it just doable.

I recently found out that will/stagger damage actually has an effect on small enemies. If your stagger stat is too low you won't interrupt their attacks with just one hit, same as in ultimaniac. The imperial army blade might be too low for FF mode, but there's definitely a way to make the difficulty ultimaniac adjacent.

I remember failing Omega's damage check once. A real deflating experience. But I believe in you! I'm sure you'll get it one of these days :D

I used to spam gigaflare, judgement bolt and zantetsuken, but by the time I got to caer movement in my FF mode playthrough I was getting bored out of my mind. Decided to get good without ultimates or Odin, and I've never gone back to that playstyle (except for the couple speedruns I've done.) Game's more fun that way.

I don't think it's as horrible as the one from Drake's Fang with the flan, the eyeball, and the bombs. One of the coeurls will always aggro on one of your party members and as long as you don't hit it by accident it'll pretty much let you kill the other one 1v1. Problem is when your party member decides to pull the other coeurl over to you...

@@eyrestahl Yeah I am just leaving this stage as is, it is seriously not healthy for my mental health. It takes me close to an hour just to get to leviathan and I can’t even get past leviathan’s stupid first phase. It takes me close to an hour to get to him and he kills me in 1-2 hits, it just is not worth it. I can’t practice enough on leviathan if it takes a fucking hour just to get to him

No clue, friend. I only have a general idea for some legs because I might've gotten an A on them at some point, but once I get an S on a leg I try to not go any lower on future attempts. Figuring out the thresholds is work I don't think I'm willing to do lol

Bosses are probably the hardest legs to S rank in every stage. You can't get the technique from most of your abilities because you're against a single target, so no collateral damage, and it's a big enemy that can't be launched, so no air combo techniques from stuff like wicked wheel or rising flames. The only way to make abilities give any worthwhile amount of points is to use them on a staggered enemy, which gives you an eikonic punishment technique that's worth 1 green star. Other than that, they're only good for LB generation. The next best thing you can do is try to land as many LB combos as possible. They give 1 green star per combo, 2 green stars if you do a phoenix shift combo. Never use abilities while in LB, because they won't give lb generation and you'll do more damage for no extra score gain. Even if it's not an S rank in a boss leg, you can make up for it in all the other legs. An A or two isn't the end of the world, unless you're barely out of B range. But do the lb combos and you should be close enough to an S that it shouldn't really matter.

I dunno, though I once heard it was barely a couple dozen people. But not knowing the thresholds makes it hard to say. The only stages that I think could be used to tell would be the crystalline dominion and Drake's Fang. IIRC, those two have the lowest clear rate out of all the base game stages. Maybe Reverie, too, because Barnabas do be a bit of a run ender. But with all the anonymous people in the leaderboards, it's hard to make an accurate count imo. I'm guessing less than 100, counting all versions. Not a lot of people go through the gauntlet in the first place I think.

I actually considered using the revivement bit after the 20th+ attempt because this stage can be pretty mean lol If you don't mind a bit of unsolicited advice, I'd recommend opening the first leg with dancing steel/Zantetsuken so you can have the gigaflare for the flans right after. Same on the leg after Hreidmar with the bombs, especially since they don't die in a single use. You can zantetsuken the raptors and then finish the bombs with a gigaflare. You'd still have to deal with the second set of bombs without them for a while, tho. Also, the timekeeper was the reason I decided to not use Odin, because of how he can just interrupt both dancing steel and zantetsuken with his oath and frozen arsenal attacks, like it happened to you. I'd also recommend to mind the HP thresholds. You got cheated out of some damage near the end because you pushed him into a threshold. You can notice it when you don't get any battle technique when you land attacks. But all in all, pretty good! Just finishing the stage is an achievement all on its own, and speedrunning it doesn't make it any easier imo. Edit: btw, I had never heard the german voice for Clive and the VA sounds really good!

@@eyrestahl Thank you for your comment, tips and kind words. This Run was more a Challengerun "Blindspeedrun(?)". I was stuck on Leviatahns Countdownphase, so I did Testingfights against Omega to tweak my Build. Normaly I play with Grace of Inferno+1(WotW) nad Revivement Bit (So I can ignore my HP). I did use the Build for this Run the first time, so I played more casualy until Leviathan. (So I am not exhusted). Thanks for the Tips and I complety agree that for Speedrun my Playstyle/Build is/was not optimal. This was my third Attempt against Leviathans final Phase...so yeah. I think you could swap one Accessory for Reviement Bit(Except Genji+1), one Eikon(except Shiva) for Ultima(or Leviathan) and one Ability(Satelit?) for WotW. With your Playstyle your could probably play more aggressive which could result in a faster Time. Fun Fact: Clives German Actor is active on Reddit/Discord. But yes, in most cases English Voiceacting is much better than Germans Voice Acting. But in this Case, personaly I prefer the German Voice Actor.

It's because thunderstorm is a good point scoring ability no matter how you use it. Satellite is the same, racking up feats but also subsidises stagger damage loss of alot of builds.

I kinda wished I could've frozen Hreidmar at the start to get a stronger start, tho, but I messed it up a bit. So, as far as thunderstorm goes, and this is just based on my kinda limited testing, it's as you say and it's just the best (imo) cd-to-damage ratio. You get more damage out of thunderstorm than from, say, judgment bolt, just because of the cooldown. It's also ranged, so it allows you to get damage on enemies that like to move out of range like the Timekeeper with its oath attacks. Satellite is a mix of stagger and magic burst damage. No matter what skills you use, there will always be downtime where you have to wait for things to come off cd. The latest buff to satellite makes the charged shots and magic burst shots do a lot of damage, so it's a great filler during those times. It also helps get the multiplier to 1.5x pretty easily with magic bursts so I can get more damage out of windup and thunderstorm. It's also probably my favorite ability in the game, so that's just a preference bonus :B I'm sure it's not the fastest loadout, so there's a good chance someone else (or even me) can shave a couple minutes off the run, but I also did attempts using zantetsuken/gigaflare with the Odin feat accessory and my times were either similar or slower. Plus dancing steel was really hard to land on the timekeeper since he likes to freeze you out of your attacks, even with rift slip or frostbite. And also, yes, like blue said, in S rank runs thunderstorm is probably the best ability for score. Does a little less damage than windup for the same score, is easier to use especially if you pair it with rift slip, and it's ranged so as I mentioned before you can get score even when enemies and bosses move out of range.

Bricks, more like. That last maelstrom caught me so off guard and I was super lucky that the one firelight I had left was enough to save the run.

Nope, other than having a save file right before a fight there really isn't any way to fight specific bosses or anything. The closest you can get to that is doing stage replay and dying before you kill it, so you can choose restart from checkpoint and start over. And that's not an option on Ultimaniac, so it's hard to get practice on the higher difficult. But it's not that different from FF mode other than it doing more damage and having more HP.

I actually did a few attempts using the good ol' dancing steel/gigaflare spam, but with the Odin feat accessory. It was pretty good being able to cancel anything into Zantetsuken, but I was going about the same pace as with this loadout. The enemy layout and the fact that you need two out of your three accessory slots to make dancing steel work I guess makes it so zantetsuken isn't as powerful as in most other stages. And yeah, I did mention that, didn't I? I've been getting distracted with other stuff, but I guess I should get back to working on that. I'll see what I can do timewise, cuz it's a lot to cover and I kinda let it go to the back burner while I figured out how to approach it. Thanks for reminding me, though!

@@eyrestahl I'm a little disappointed on the new Odin accessory as that's the only thing they added, they could've made it so zan is a little easier to get when using the basic arm of darkness moves but oh well, and don't feel pressured to upload those Ultimaniac Tip videos, take your time. Yeah, I think the Odin and the Garuda accessories are on the bottom in terms of usefulness. You can do almost the same thing as the Odin accessory with Rift Slip, but it is kinda nice having both at the same time. It's probably the most useful for speedruns, being able to cancel dancing steel with Zantetsuken and then cancel Zant with rift slip, when you usually have to choose one or the other, but other than saving time I don't see it being a good use of an accessory slot for general play. The Garuda one is the most underwhelming, though. There are very few stages where the increased range would be useful, and the increased height on deadly leap is probably the most meh effect of the lot. Every other feat accessory is pretty good. The Titan one is probably the best one if you like to use that eikon. Being able to block things that aren't in front of you makes it a really good tool in any situation.

@@eyrestahl I remember seeing Garuda and was just wondering "Is that it?" Man, I really wish they did something that maybe allowed you to cancel a move or whatever animation you're in (kinda like zan accessory) to get the pull for the half stagger, as for Titan I'm happy with Titan's although I haven't used him since my first playthrough. I'll probably try it out again with the accessory and see if he'll replace one of my main Eikons.(Prob not)

Yep, I remember that flan. At first I thought I was crazy because I didn't remember it being there before, and sure enough, it's only in ultimaniac. There's a couple other stages with like an extra enemy in one leg or something, but I don't remember rn. But it's only in Drake's Fang and maybe one or two other stages.

Yeah, I used to get most parries using burning blade, but the fact that you have to charge it up on top of timing it made me practice doing it with regular attacks. I still can't let go of the jump crutch.

@@eyrestahl I’ve embraced the parry. It’s not a jump “crutch.” You simply stay in the spot you originally intended to execute the parry whereas on the ground it moves Clive forward regardless. On a related note you could do a challenge run where your only means of slowing and/or interrupting the enemy is through parries. No permafrost, rift slip, titan block or other counter abilities. Just the parry

Literally! I do wish they someday make FF mode available your 1st playthrough (difficulty only) and Ultimaniac an actual difficulty in-game; action focused was pitifully easy..
