Nobody - NOBODY - could match that magnificent, incredible voice. The closing high notes may be the most perfect song ending I've ever heard. The world lost a musical g*d when Roy left us. And many others here have gone since: George, Roy, Tom, none of you are gone. Your music, and your memory, are still and will always be with us.
I really like the video JD. Roy Orbison was awesome. The best voice I have ever heard. He was the best singer on earth in my opinion, I could listen to him all day.He should be on the radio more often. Everything he recorded was brilliant. Wish he was still with us now. His music will live on forever though. Frank.
How I wish Roy could have lived longer. Some say Jeff Lynne gets heavy on the acoustical "varnish" but he is an absolute genius- witness this collaboration- Roy's beautiful "bel canto" voice soaring majestically over Jeff's lush, "aural velvet" orchestration. Roy, with Jeff's help, could have "remastered" his entire catalog to a point of unbelievable depth and power. I'm just grateful they connected when ans as they did, as the Traveling Wilburys.
Can you possibly imagine anyone signing this song better than Roy Orbison! My God, they must have had shivers in the recording studio when this was recorded!
@@diggerthegroundhog8799, while I give you the right to your opinion, I must respectfully disagree. After listening to Belew'sversion, IMHO, his voice has nowhere near the power and emotion present in Roy's version. And yes, that is my opinion so I'll agree to disagree.
Great observation about shivers in the studio!! I get that just listening in my back yard. And all 4 of the other Wilburys had Huge Admiration for Roy! It's almost like he was one of the main driving forces behind the whole Wilbury Project. Sure wish they could have lasted longer.
Oh my gosh!! That's the first time I've heard this song! I LOVE IT!! I'm just blown away by Roy Obison's voice!! What a gift!!! It would have been great if Roy could have lived to add that song to his concerts! Along with, You Got It!!! He would have had his great oldies, and then these new songs to add to his tours. What a concert that would have been!!! MAN!! Sure do miss you Roy!!! Wish you'd took better care of yourself, so we could have enjoyed your music & voice longer!!! Love ya dude!!!
My favorite Roy Orbison song. He had many but this one is a standout. After all how would you ever get the backup singers he had. It’s safe to say there will never be another song that will compare with this one.
thanks george bob jeff tom and roy..you did an outstanding job in just a few weeks, RIP roy, as it is said in the dvd, your voice was absolutely the best ever in pop music.
There is no one like the Big O: not then, not now, not ever! I've been listening to his music ever since the '60's and I've yet to hear anyone to be his equal vocally, except, possibly Gene Pitney! Love ya, Big O! He's singing now in rock 'n' roll heaven...
My God, what a superb piece of music this is. Roy Orbison was, is, and will always be without any doubt among the best of the very best, one of the most phenomenal vocal talents ever, God bless his magnificent soul.
this song sends shivers through me :) I love it. I don't think they could have topped its sound again, so George and Roy did us proud, typed with tears in my eyes, lol that's powerful singing and emotion in that song. Got it on replay again !!!
It’s difficult to fathom the massive amount of time these guys have in their craft. And I love, how could you not love, Roy Orbison‘s soaring delicious voice! how did all these exemplary musicians stick with their stupendous abilities all these years? And only get better and better and better? How is that possible? Thank you all! And yes, the video proper is excellent ….literally better than excellent! thank you for everything!
What a voice this man had, I actually went to the same elementary, Jr High and High School as Roy Orbison. I’ve been a fan of his for as long as I can remember and this song just rips my heart out ❤️❤️❤️
Wonderful song. Jeff looks so happy playing with some of his musical heroes. I wonder if he realises just how many people there are that consider him their hero.
You're SO right, friend. And what a wonderful band, so capable of making each and every one of its members show the very best in them. This magic has only one parallel, The Beatles!
Is a real shame they never did a video of this, love the bits of him in the studio actually singing this, such rare precious moments. Thanks for putting this together.
Roy cast before they could and Roy cast before they could and if you noticed in the song end of the line his guitar is in the rocking chair when he's singing
Elvis preslseys favourite singer ever..i agree ,best voice ever. But dylan will allways be the man untill the end of time. Theres nobody that could ever compare to bob . The greatest, singer, songwriter there will ever be.
My mother turned me on to Roy Orbison...and when this group got together I almost died! ALL my favs! When this album came out , my mom had me play this track over and over...
This still sends chills up my spine. While it isn't "canonical" Roy, it sure the hell qualifies to be in his "Apocrypha", and thereby eminently WORTHY of being included in any archive or presentation of his works.
Roy Orbison, George Harrison, Bob Dylan, Tom Petty and Jeff Lynne. Can't do much better. Jeff and Tom were able to capture and update Roy's sound on this, his spotlight song from the LP, which led to his "Mystery Girl" album. I was already quite aware of Roy's catalog; this was his best work since leaving Monument in 1964. Be at peace, Roy and George.
As a pastor I believe in Heaven. When I hear Roy Orbison sing it feels like I get a little glimpse of that wonderful place. It won't surprise me when I get to Heaven that angels sing like this wonderful man.
jeff lynne hated the first recording of this...felt the music was an embarrassment to roys voice..so he re-produced the track keeping only roys voice from the original...because cmon...who could top that?

Roy Orbison has the best voice I've EVER heard! We were so lucky to have him. Rest in peace Roy, we'll always love you and your beautiful songs

Roy's voice makes me cry sometimes because it's so beautiful ❤️
Roy doing this song ends all those songs about being alone! His voice is unforgettable

man his voice in this song could melt icebergs

Yes. Adrian Belew actually does it better. Many AB fans agree. I know it's hard to top the master but check it out.

These icons wanted to sing with him. He had no peer. Best voice ever.
They were in awe him. Best voice in rock history. No doubt.
Beautiful song and Roy had the voice of an angel! 🤎
Roy being Roy with other Legendary folks we all love and cant get enough of .His voice as strong as ever. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🙏👅👅😎🙋

so much feeling in this song, his voice is like an angel, absolute legend.
Absolutely. Roy's singing gives me the chills.

WHEW! What a tremendous voice. Can't think of a better way to start a beautiful day. Thank you, Mr. Orbison. Great video.
The fact that Jeff and George brought these guys together is very special..all ..legends in their own lifetime .
If only the Wilburys were still alive
thanks george bob jeff tom and roy..you did an outstanding job in just a few weeks, RIP roy, as it is said in the dvd, your voice was absolutely the best ever in pop music.
Thank you for this. RIP Roy, George and Tom. Thanks for the music. Legends each one
Großartiges Lied, großartige Stimme.
What a golden voice RIP George,Roy, and Tom....
A modern day classic. Roy went out with a bang. Definitely one of the greats.
What a beautiful thing youre not alone anymore. That voice alone.
Yes what a great song and Roy I worked with this man in -1965 a true Gentleman and what a singer and writer. Brilliant
Another great song from the Travelling Wiburys Vol. 1. Rest in peace Roy, what a voice, you made the world a better place. Thanks for posting!

Gene Pitney is another great. The hurt in the voice...
I first saw Jeff in The Idle Race in an Erdington pub in 1968. It was obvious then that he was destined for greatness
These guys made some great music !!!
Roy always grabs me by the heart. Beautiful singer, beautiful man.
I agree, that voice was haunting.
My God, what a superb piece of music this is. Roy Orbison was, is, and will always be without any doubt among the best of the very best, one of the most phenomenal vocal talents ever, God bless his magnificent soul.
God,is this fuckibg brilliant
this song sends shivers through me :) I love it. I don't think they could have topped its sound again, so George and Roy did us proud, typed with tears in my eyes, lol that's powerful singing and emotion in that song. Got it on replay again !!!
Brilliant music.Great idols' 💐

Brilliant! Just f'ing brilliant. The best of the best. Man do we miss Roy 'The Voice'... Makes a grown man cry...
What a voice this man had, I actually went to the same elementary, Jr High and High School as Roy Orbison. I’ve been a fan of his for as long as I can remember and this song just rips my heart out ❤️❤️❤️
It's a beautifully haunting song
If only 'that lonely' heart had held out just a little bit longer to reap the rewards of this collaboration,,,
I guess it was too lonely. Such a shame. My mom and I would have both loved to see what the rebooted Roy Orbison could have done.
It could be that for all of the Wilburys their time together creating and recording was the real reward.
Such a roy and jeff signature..love it!
A group of super stars, Fantastic team work.
No more Roy and George ! Too sad.
"It was great Roy, we ve got nice stuff there"...Indeed Jeff...!
Thank you to Roy "Caruso angel" Orbison for the incredible gifts he left
Is a real shame they never did a video of this, love the bits of him in the studio actually singing this, such rare precious moments. Thanks for putting this together.
Roy cast before they could and Roy cast before they could and if you noticed in the song end of the line his guitar is in the rocking chair when he's singing
@@kenmason1461 That was "The End of the Line," which was a great tribute to Roy. I'd have loved to see this song with a video, though.
I love Roy, he had the best pipes out of all of them :-)
Couldn't agree more, Emily. He could have come and sung with me any time :)
He has always been one of my favorites and my dads. The first time I heard this was when my dad used to play it on vinyl :)
Only The Lonely, Crying, A love so beautiful & this one
are my favs. A voice for the lonely.
Ladies and gentlemen; the king of Rock & Roll...Roy Orbison !!!
What beautiful music!
Believe he recorded the vocals for this in one take
Hard to improve on perfection.😊
I love the look of satisfaction on Roy's face right when he ends singing the last note of the song. He knew how good he was! What an awesome singer.
beautiful, just great music and nice to see Orbison last work
Beutifully aranged! Tanks!
Best singer ever
+AsitisToday Elvis Presley agrees with this.
A men. Amen.
Elvis preslseys favourite singer ever..i agree ,best voice ever. But dylan will allways be the man untill the end of time. Theres nobody that could ever compare to bob . The greatest, singer, songwriter there will ever be.
Just brilliant
I haven't listened to this in a long time.. what a great song !
Don't forget Jim Keltner on drums. A great musician in his own right.
My mother got me listening to Roy back in the early 80's. I am glad that she did. JDCOVERS ~ Excellent job on this !!!
Classic! May Roy RIP. Bless his heart.
noe av det beste jeg noen gang har hørt
Great choice of song. Cool video. "Trembling Wilbury"
My mother turned me on to Roy Orbison...and when this group got together I almost died! ALL my favs! When this album came out , my mom had me play this track over and over...
Hiya JDCOVERS.
i love this song. I always play this song and when i play this song i think of my dad who i lost 13 years ago in july 1st
This still sends chills up my spine. While it isn't "canonical" Roy, it sure the hell qualifies to be in his "Apocrypha", and thereby eminently WORTHY of being included in any archive or presentation of his works.
Brilliant...absolutely amazing.....
i am a big fan of The Traveling Wilburys and i love all their songs but this 1 is my number 1
JDCOVERS Great montage Thanks RIP to the greatest voice of Rock...The great Roy!
The one thumb down of this track is an IDIOT in my estimation. Two Wilburys in Heaven: George's weeping guitar and Roy's soaring vocals!
Wonderful!
LOVE YOU ROY!!
I like it, great band and scenes are great. Thanks.
Roy Orbison, George Harrison, Bob Dylan, Tom Petty and Jeff Lynne. Can't do much better. Jeff and Tom were able to capture and update Roy's sound on this, his spotlight song from the LP, which led to his "Mystery Girl" album. EXCELENT JOB JD THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES THRUOUT THIS GREAT SONG AND VIDEO!!!
There is no one that can sing like Roy Orbison
Meu Deus do céu! Como Roy Orbison cantava. É impisivel ouvir essa musica uma vez sem elogia- lo umas 30.Cantava demais.
i love it
Love it - great moving lyrics
great job JD! Terrific song!
Sounds so much like ELO, I guess, Jeff Lynne wrote this song. Together with the voice of Roy Orbison it`s perfect and a really earcatcher.
When Harrison Dylan Petty and Lynne do Shananas for you
nicely done!! Love this song too!!!
A great album--and this was the best song on it!
They should of been called the travellin legends
Awesome video, I love those guys so much
Omg thanks. Roy and Tom Jezzzzz. Would that not be a great live
Esse tem o dom mesmo! E como era modesto...
Não me canso de ouvir essa voz...❤️
I dedicate this post to a Viet Vet. Bye David and Roy. LoVe.
Roy orbison,George Harrison and Tom Petty may you all rest in peace and I hope that god has a special place up there in heaven for all of you
for wilbury fans wherever you are!!!!! i know at least one who thinks it's "well, it's alright"" the person knows who it is. enjoy this one!!!
As a pastor I believe in Heaven. When I hear Roy Orbison sing it feels like I get a little glimpse of that wonderful place. It won't surprise me when I get to Heaven that angels sing like this wonderful man.
I was waiting for Tom Petty to ROAST him and say, "You wanna sing it right, this time? LOL
Well it would have been nice if you used the full bands name "Traveling Wilburys"!!
OOPs scuse me , well done JD. Loved the film too :)
They looked like they had a Hoot playing together. Roy came across as a real decent man
He was a true gentleman i had coffee with him once.
Lucky you Johnny
He may have passed on to that proverbial "better place," but meeting him and having a little chat is still on my bucket list.
Well Done!!!! Thank so much for posting this......................
Is this the sequel to "Only the Lonely"
jeff lynne hated the first recording of this...felt the music was an embarrassment to roys voice..so he re-produced the track keeping only roys voice from the original...because cmon...who could top that?
My childhood in the very early 90's before I got into Korn, Limp bizkit, and system of a down.
elo taste to it!
Greatness always seems to come in fours...
Not in this case though... There were five Wilburys. :)
?
Bob Dylan, George Harrison, Tom Petty, Jeff Lynde, Roy Orbison
rufusbuck17 Oh. I was born without a math chip.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Was Jeff Lynne in the band with Roy Orbison ? One of my favorite bands .
I think Jeff was the founder. Correct me if Im wrong and George had more to do with it
And in the keyboard embellishments. Splendid stuff, this is. Gives me the chills every time I listen to it.
Nice edit.
ain't that the truth!
Tom is probably Jamming with his buddy Roy now
