no matter how long I let it dry when I go to put on a second coat it take the original coat of chalk paint off, I cant figure out what I am doing wrong. My chalk paint is pretty old, could that be the issue?
I didn’t even know about heat guns. How are they different from a hair dryer? Are they worth the money? Are they expensive? Help a newbie out please. 😁👍
Good directions, but editing would have saved time on the drying tutorial which made its point on the first painting. I never finishes the video the first time around, but decided today to take a second look. Crafters appreciate time saving directions. More information can be added in when you edit out the fluff.
good lord, relax. there's a wicked cool invention called fast forwarding. just fast forward through the drying and we don't need to be subjected to your ridiculous criticism. thank you karen.
Modpodge should be fine and its inexpensive. If you will use it often or need to wash it often you could probably slap a few coats of water based polyurethane.
@@superxblondex would you know if the waverly wax would seal it? I used waverly chalk paint that works with glass and on the back of the bottle it says to seal with their wax.
@@katherinefrederick3164 Hi @Katherine Frederick. I just finished a project like this and I had a quick question so I came here on the subscribers page but I don’t see any answers here if you would know this question for the Mod podge that she mentioned Would you happen to know if once you use the Marge podge it will turn the chalk a different texture? As I’m trying to keep it in a chalky form but I don’t want to leave it on sealed because it gets a little chalky everywhere on the table? Thank you so much if you know dear and thank you for your time
@@UIV7096 to be honest I do not have the answer to that so sorry . I’ve never used mod podge on chalk paint as I just started working with chalk paint . I'm not sure what their recipe is, but I have used the following recipe for years and have had excellent results. I have used this on wood, glass, plastic, metal. Painted all my furniture. 8 ounces flat paint 5 Tablespoons calcium carbonate 3 Tablespoons water. Mix water and calcium together until smooth, add paint and mix well. I use an immersion blender (pick up cheap at goodwill). Keep covered when not in use. Will last for months.

@@PureEssenceCo I would say yes. When i used the Waverly wax on a crate I painted it came out really nice.
How do I thin chalk paint, the one I have is rather thick
Use water. Chalk paint is water based so water won’t hurt it.
What is “mod pod”? Can you provide some links please?? For the materials you mention? Cuz we have no idea
It’s called mod podge you can search it on google and it will show you what it is and how and when to use it . Hope that helps !
Amazon sells it, Walmart maybe Target
Amazon for sure..
