  • This is the 3rd and final ride to evaluate what bike will replace my KTM 1290 GT when its time to change.
    Today I rode the Multistrada V$S (Full) and I hope you like the review.
    Thanks to John who came along and rode the Multistrada Rally spec and gave his honest opinion on the bike..
    If you've followed the three videos, thank you, and I hope I've made the right decision.

    After owning the Kawasaki H2SX I also now own the Multi V4S the Kawasaki is just too tempting to get yourself in trouble on UK roads its so easy to go double the speed limits without noticing the Multi gives 90% of the excitement but within reasonable speeds.
    You wont regret your choice.

    I live in the San Francisco area of the USA. I've owned my MSV4S Sport since September of 2022. My very first duck and I never thought I'd own one. After a lifetime of racing motocross/desert/road racing and finally training other road racers I opted for the MS. Never was a fan of the BMW or KTM bikes. So unlike you bloaks I didn't compare. I just compared the MS to how my RC51 and other bikes handled. The usable tech on the machine is wonderful. It will be my last bike and I'm a one-bike owner-at-a-time kinda guy. Enjoy

    The new v4's back cylinders shut off under 4k revs not just stood still.
    You can get an adapter that will put the sat nav above the display behind the screen,
    The lights are great in the dark, i did get the fog lights also.
    If you press the suspension button for 2 secs it will lower the suspension buy 20mm under 70mph
    I had the V4S for a year and loved it, decided to get the explorer this year as i wanted more range.
    You will not regret buying it.
    You will bloody love it.
    Welcome to the Ducati club ;)

      The current V4S only deactivates the rear cylinders at idle the rally does it below 4000rpm this wil be changing soon.
      People talk about the tank range and economy while touring on the V4S but the reality from real life ownership while touring is sticking around speed limits the V4S can do 50mpg fully loaded up as long as you don't use the power too much.

    A nice long test ride and having ridden all the other bikes you were interested in, you've come to a well informed decision. Looking forward to seeing how life is with a Ducati on your future videos. 👍

    When I tested the V4 Multi, I couldn’t believe how vibe’y it was, especially compared to the ultra smooth H2!

    • @stevesherlockrides
      @stevesherlockrides  8 місяців тому

      I rode the H2 before the v4 and thought it was silky smooth, maybe not as much as the H2 but polished nevertheless. On crappie,bumpy and gnarly b roads the ducati has it though. The H2 I would go for wouldn't be the SE so that semi auto suspension might have been ok

    Interesting! I had the Ducati Multistrada 1200 Enduro before trading it in for (2019) 1290 Super Duke GT. It was a brilliant bike and did nearly everything I wanted it to apart from not break down.
    It left a sour taste in having to sell the Ducati but it was always in and and out of the dealership for repairs. The KTM on the other hand, has been extremely reliable and an absolute blast to ride. That said, I still want another Ducati😁

    Got the same problem. I got a 2019 honda vfr 1200 x crosstourer and a 2021 aprilia tuono v4 factory. Love both bikes, but i am a bit disapointed with the new r1300gs wich i testrode. I like the 1250 gs more. Until…i began watching video’s of multistrada’s 😂. I LOVE the black rally version. But should i sell only the honda and go for the black rally…or sell both my bikes and buy a multistrada pikes peak or the even more sporty RS ? Or should i buy the multistrada grand tour and put the full akra on it? 🤪🙄🤪😝😂

      Depends on whether you do day rideouts or tours. Heart would say PP but the GT with full system also good and 10 bhp more than the PP without the full system. PP is bike porn though. Wish I could help more lol

    Don't forget it has the worst range of any adventure bike that's why they made the rally to get more fuel in.

    • @stevesherlockrides
      @stevesherlockrides  8 місяців тому +1

      Yep that's the only concern I have. Saying that any more than 2 hours in the saddle at any one time is enough anyway so would refuel

      36000 miles before valve service, a GS is every 12,000. Over the long term the Ducati is cheaper. I ride a V2S Multi after three GSs and I prefer the Ducati, it’s the handling and the special feeling of riding a Ducati.
