I legit thing that was the main reason, that and all important cutscenes.

The logic he applied for the cutting of fat NPC is like... bad? with that logic black people shouldn't be in the game since (and I'm pretty sure there are videos of it) one could go killing only black people, Fat NPC would have fitted perfectly in Saint Denis, where the wealthy live, rarely walking and always on carriage.
Although I can't really think of a better explanation, GTA 4 had a lot of fat NPC and no one really complained or is complaining about it, and you know how many people like to go back to older stuff and find modern problems in it

One thing about rockstar i hate is how they abandon their games after release they did that with gta 5 and rdr2 and im pretty sure gta4 too

They don't, they just keep releasing stuff for the online because is always all about what gives them more money. RIP Rdr2 online tho lol.
5 has an online mode that has been updated consistently, as does 2 but it hasn't been updated in awhile besides a recent patch, 4 also had 2 dlcs. So that isn't abandoning anything.

You can tell there was a lot of stuff removed from the game or just never fully developed bc they wanted to get it out on time. Like with all those things that Arthur sketches in his notebook... the strange trees, the hobbit house, the burned out town. Even the witch's hut. There must have been some story connected to those places. My theory is that there was supposed to have been some more side missions, but they spent so much time developing the world, when it came time to develop the missions etc. it was already too late.
It wouldve been great if Rockstar had released some of this cut content as DLC but instead they gave up on this game altogether.
The trees are made by native Americans to point out landmarks normally water sources. It’s just apart of the world building.
I feel like the “foreman” cut content could have been Anthony Foreman’s gang and maybe Tilly could have had a story arc there.

35:58 correct me if I’m wrong but Molly actually was lying when she said she talked to Milton bc at the end of the game, Milton reveals that they caught Molly and tried to get info from her but she didn’t budge (this is when it’s revealed that Micah was the real snitch) (this next part is a little unrelated but I find it interesting 💀)so people theorize that Molly was lying to get Dutch’s attention but wasn’t in the right mind to realize that it’d probably would have her killed, or she didn’t care if she lived or died!
Even all these years later I’m still confused by that. Milton said “had to let her go “ so she could provide information. He was just screwing with us and his job was to bring down the gang. The real rat was Abigail anyway imo

Yeah, John says hes never been to Armadillo, or New Austin or MacFarlanes ranch. But in RDR 2 thats obviously not the case.

I'd much rather have the game we got then something that got pushed back even further. I know adding all these things would've probably made the game better but the game is good enough on its own and only a couple of things (John's body + Some of the New Austin stuff) really would've made the game a lot better if it was finished.

I always inferred what happened to the Princess was she was sold as a slave from the Fence in Saint Denis. He has a chest with her initials and he is know to sell people.

Overall good video honestly, but for future reference you kind of repeat the same nothing statement after everything. “You know like, it would have been cool but you know it’s like fine it isn’t. I would have liked it but I’m fine it’s not there.”
I just feel like the video could be smoother and way less repetitive without it. I do like the video, don’t get me wrong. Just trying to help you grow if I can!
Rockstar has ENOUGH money. Wish they’d leave GTA online alone for a while to add some cool shit to single player stuff. Imagine riding out into town with uncle or Lenny and getting drunk and getting into fights at the bar? Would’ve been a dream
In a world where companies only care about their stock prices, there never is enough money. It's also kinda crazy how little money a company like Rockstar makes vs other game companies.

Dude. Two separate studios work on red dead redemption two and GTA online. I’m tired of seeing this take on every cut contact video. In game development a lot of stuff gets cut out due to time constraints or file size bloat or just new ideas. To imply that all of this was going to be great Content that was cut out because the evil executives wanted more money to go to GTA online is ridiculous.

If you have the RDR2 strategy guide; you can see several photos of Arthur in New Austin as well as Arthur wearing the Legend of the East outfit. This is likely because Piggyback was working in tandem with R* to write the guide and was given an advanced copy of the game where Arthur did have access to New Austin; or at least everywhere but Blackwater.
That's unfair, why could he go to NA but not us?

This is just me but a RDR 2 Deluxe Edition with most cut content for PS5/Xbox Series S & X would sell alot a copies and make Rockstar a bunch more money
I mean I think they could do this with using modders, but it doesn't really make sense for Rockstar themselves to develop a cut content version, because they have more important things to focus on (GTA 6). Rockstar kinda hates using other people to make their stuff tho.

In red dead 1, the shopkeepers could walk around town when their stores were closed. You could play poker with herbert moon. I got caught cheating and had to duel him.
The fact they took out going drinking with Sean…worse than any warcrime. The Lenny mission was the funniest thing in the game, and you’re telling me we could’ve had that with Sean too?!
The Neanderthal is really a strange one since that group of primal people were mostly living in ancient Eurasia, not North America. Would've been really cool to find this guy frozen in ice, or just living his life in the wilderness.

cant believe we had 3 DLCS cut from gta 5 story mode.
1. this was gonna be a gta 5 story mode DLC and it was gonna be undead nightmare style and it was gonna drop somewhere between halloween 2014 or halloween 2015 where u fight zombies and have to survive but the mode was cut mid development due to some financing issues i think.
2. the second gta 5 DLC was gonna be about Lamar. kinda like gta san andreas. it was gonna be set after gta 5 story mode and u play as lamar and his dealings and gang life. but that was cut. plus lamar was also gonna be a full playable character in storymode but that was cut bc his voice actor went to prison and they couldnt really schedule a release date for the DLC so they just cut it mid production
3. another gta 5 DLC. this was gonna be about trevor. he was gonna be recruited by some CIA secret agency into doing missions for them but i think these missions were put into online.
4. Bully 2. This game was i think cancelled somewhere in 2017. It was in production and development but rockstar just abandoned it and stopped production so that they could make RDR2 into the best.
5. I think we were supposed to get a GTA 4 remastered/port to ps4 somewhere in 2016-2018 but the port had issues before release so rockstar cancelled that too.
But for RDR2, guarma couldve been so much more. the cut content was crazy.
I think safe houses could’ve been a way to generate money for the gang and Arthur. Iirc, before the gang had to leave blackwater Hosea and Arthur were discussing potential real estate to make money for the gang. Like Arthur can choose to stay there but when he doesn’t use it, it generates a profit

There's so much they've cut. I could've loved that Charles mission for example. Also taking Molly to that Golden Cage mission.

Honest to goodness I really wish they'd at least update John's model and animations. Additionally, Geldings would've been a great addition. Mares and stallions are a bit notorious for being moody and testy, particularly with inexperienced owners/riders. Geldings are popular specifically because they're known for being calmer for the most part. They could've maybe made them generally less sensitive to being spooked or quieter in the snow. I've also never understood why quarter horses aren't in this game lol. They would've fit perfectly with rustling livestock which also would've been fun

I think that sheriff Owens was supposed to be the sheriff in Van Horn. He was probably scratched when the devs decided for Van Horn to just be a pit of lawlessness and villainy

The ferry to guarma feature should have been added because there are some animals that are exclusive to guarma that need to be studied in order to get platinum
In the game where you can literally mame people and animals with dynamite, molotovs, explosive arrows, shotguns, knives, run them over with horses and crush them under wagon wheels, but obese people is where Rockstar draws the line?
No.
The possible reason why obese npcs were cut, was probably due to animation and collision.
All regular npcs share the same rig and animations, but with obese npcs they probably had to make a separate rig and animations for them, which meant they had to make sure objects don't clip into them, new horse/wagon riding animation, shooting, taking cover and fist fighting animation, not to mention all of the work the devs had to do with how obese npcs would interact with world around them and whatnot.
So the most likely reason Rockstar cut obese npcs was probably due to time or development issues. not offending people.
Mexico (and everything south of Strawberry) was added super late in development. Some of the earliest Maps that were leaked and found within the game files all show that everything tied to RDR1 wasn't part of the overall explorable map until very late in development. Which is why there is some evidence of Arthur being able to go to places like New Austin but it was scrapped due to typical time restraints. There's a channel called BasementGamerBros that show off all the different versions of the map and what time during development those maps existed. They have a number of really good analysis' of various cut stuff from the game.
Also, I'm almost certain that Eliza was two different characters at some point but people keep conflating them together because they have the same name. Let me explain, the Eliza with missions was the niece of the Guarma Ship Captain, the one that takes you Dutch and co back home. You didn't meet her until that portion of the game and it's the reason why John doesn't meet her until the epilogue because he was locked up when she was around the gang and if she was there from the beginning then there is certain no reason for John to never have known about her until the epilogue(this also coincides with being able to revisit Guarma as well). Then, she was scrapped and rewritten into the Sadie character(they both share the same characteristic of getting herself into danger so it makes sense to keep that trait) Then, They took the name Eliza and made her Issac's mom, then once again decided to cut her down to a passing mention by Arthur.
This just my way of thinking as a ton of people seem confused about who or what she was when they were making the game, but to me, it makes more sense that they just played musical chairs with the character and name so she was never just one person at any point and time.
The early maps that were leaked ended up being one half of the physical map with all old map stuff being on the back of that map. It's not that all the old map stuff didn't exist, it's just that the actual map was broken into two pieces and only the east half leaked
really would have liked to have seen the online only weapons as well as the cut weapons in this video in red dead redemption 2 story mode. I would have loved to have a muzzle loading blunderbus, or a cap and ball navy revolver.

It's crazy how even with a long development time and crunch overtime with i'm guessing over a 1000 employees they still cut so much.
There is also John's actual epilogue look. You know they cut alot of things for Epilogue John from his animations, clothes, body, etc.

It makes sense for there to not be a ferry to guarma in the epilogue. There's no reason why John would want to go there especially since everyone that was there talks about how bad it was
Well yeah, there was supposed to be a ton of other stuff that was there, especially like treasure hunting type things, so if that was all there it could make sense, but in it's final state Guarma sucked.

i don't know whether this is true or not but one of the cut contemts suggested Arthur being able to dive and Swim Underwater and it was due to players being able to collect some plants underwater
Still think about having a mares leg in game to this day, removing the stock from the lancaster and shortening the barrel through the gunsmith. Would have been so cool

Neat that even though it was cut if you glitch Arthur into new Austin he has unique dialogue with npcs there as well as unique journal drawings that only should be possible with John's prologue time. Cool how the cut stuff still showed through a little bit.

I think the opposite is true, leaked early maps don’t have anything West of Blackwater in various variations, causing backlash, so c.2017 time they rushed to add as much of the RDR1 map in.
This caused the toxic infamous developer crunch headlines, so they had to tone it down.
Edit: Finished watching the video. Been in the community for years and thought I heard and seen it all and this iceberg video delightfully proved me wrong. Class video.

What they could’ve done here is if you found the bounty poster, you could go find and recruit him into the dutch gang or at the very least as an extra gun while in a mission against cornwall🤷🏼♂️
I wish they would take all these things that were nearly finished, finish them and offer them as dlc to play even if they don't fit into the story.

Johns head being sawed onto Arthur's body is one of the reasons I think people don't want to play as him, he is just so unnatural to watch, the animations are awful too.
Wasn't there a cut dialogue between Dutch and Arthur when you gave him the pipe for the side quest about Mac saving Arthurs life after the BW massacre? Mac gave Arthur his horse, and Jacket then distracted the Pinkertons to help Arthur get away.

The problem is that they think having no content matters, i would of gone to guarma even if theres no missions. Look at the state of online, no content but we still play it, RDR players make their own fun because we like exploring the beautiful game. I switched to PC just to play with mods and play RedM servers, i will never stop playing this game, i just wish rockstar didnt give up on it

The thing about Mexico is, John hasn’t been to Mexico yet and he went there in RDR1. So it won’t make sense if they could’ve been there. Just it’ll be cool for online play. They got rid of bunch of stuff because of timing. I wish there wasn’t a time limit for when game companies are making the games

I watch these types of videos at the same time. 2.a.m mountain time. It may seem like there’s no reason to it, but there is. For the past month or two, I’ve had this feeling of dread hitting me, not any random dread, I mean like the kind of dread that hits when you’re being watched. I have no clue where it’s coming from, I have no idea how. But I’ve been using red dead as a pseudo coping mechanism. I can’t really tell my girlfriend about this since I know I’d just sound like a rambling schizoid, which yes I know, I sound like one now. I’m just not sure on what to do at this point but sitting here right before a pretty important day is nothing but unnerving and unsettling.

I don't think that explore Mexico area was planned, devs just copied from prequel along with New Austin area, so they just needed to polishing New Austin area for sequel.
Mexico area is just leftover of that copy and paste - I think that's the reason why some objects are placed weirdly.
Then why is there cut dialogue of Jeremy Gill asking Arthur to go fishing at Frontera Bridge? This is from the dialogue of Arthur in New Austin before they changed it. We even have the cutscene.

Still, New Austin can explore as John without exploit or Mods.
But Mexico is not intended to exprole in RDR2, that's the difference.
