- After a nasty 2020, I FINALLY get my body ready for a new season of backpacking with a little hike up Lover's Leap - an annual tradition for me. Nothing special, just me talking to myself...

Lovers Leap is a nice short hike. I was up there a few years ago. Thanks for sharing !
Nice footage. I bet your happy you were able to make it before it all burnt. I did this hike in the winter and it was a great workout with snowshoes. Thanks for sharing

I hope so. The Caldor fire tore through this area and I'm pretty sure that the Lover's Leap trial was likely destroyed. I hope to get up there soon, but not finding the time to do it before winter sets in.
The fires and smoke this year are relentless. Have permits for 3 Fri-Sun for Upper Velma, but all buddies flaked. If your looking to get out and the smoke isn't terrible - was planning Emerald Bay to Wrights Lake. If you want a permit to go adventure on your own (or come along) let me know. We need a wet winter!
