  • I do a four day/three night hike out of Meeks Bay. I spend one night at Stoney Ridge Lake and then two nights at Phipps Lake - and old favorite that I haven't seen since the 90s. All is well and good until near the end where I had to help rescue a horse in trouble on the high pass trail.

Seriously, every time I hike from Meek's bay in the summer there's at least one particularly tenacious insect that chases me for at least half a mile! Great vid, feels just like being on the trail.

Another great video! Sorry for my piss poor production on my Phipps video. 😂😂 but I'm glad you found that spot, although as you stated it wasn't the greatest. My tent footprint was definitely damp after one night. But the lake was just amazing. It almost looked like an infinity pool when the sun was setting. Appreciate the dedication to your videos and time spend producing them. I need to step up my game a bit! 😁 happy trails! Looking forward to the Highland lake adventure !

NOT doing Highland lake this year - it's too dark and cold now. Next trip is gonna be easy. And it wasn't YOUR video that I was talking about. I didn't see yours. The one I saw was about 2min, no dialog - just standing in the campsite panning back and forth and back and forth and...

@@SacWildlife yea it's getting pretty chilly! Well I'm glad it wasn't my video. My editing is still piss poor though 😂 I'm trying to get a couple more trips in myself but it's already snowed a couple times in Desolation.

Nice trip! Have not been to that lake before. How did the horse get off the trail in the first place? Seems kind of odd.

Each woman was riding one horse and leaning another. The trail WAS very narrow right there and the rear horse somehow managed to fall off the trail.

How was the way from the trail down to the lake?

very steep and rough, but entirely doable
