One of my first time watching your videos and I have to say that you are doing an amazing job and you will soon reach the 1M subscribers. This version of the car is a winner in the segment, due to that combo of turbo and dual clutch. Lethargic 3cyl paired with CVTs are the efficient yet boring standard in the segment, so it was time that somebody was willing to spice it.

I love that is has a dual clutch and NO CVT. That alone puts it on my list of possibilities.

Have had one of these since Feb 2020 and love it. Most practical vehicle in this segment, as far as I'm concerned. Have driven it from PA to FL and back, and found it very comfortable. I have the FWD 'S' trim because I don't need 4wd, and preferred the better gas mileage. Also like some of the features of the 'S' that the lowest trim didn't have. Just be aware that the FWD 'S' trim has some slightly different features than the 4wd 'S' trim.
My mom just bought a 2017 Nissan Murano SL after a lot of research. It was hard for her to downsize from her 2016 Ford Expedition EL XLT, but this cars’ size and features were perfect for us!

I personally had a chance to test drive 2.0L and 1.6T on a race track today. It was really fantastic drive compering to Honda HRV, or Hyundai Kona. Extremely tech drive. It was WOW 😯

I would agree except that the SX doesn't have a moonroof which is a deal killer for me. I would pay the extra $700 for the moonroof if it's factory installed but not sure if it is.

Mason and the hey bail was hilarious! The Kona is the only one with a real turbo. I say real because the EcoSport technically has an EcoBoost engine, but it is the ridiculously under powered 1.0 3 cylinder!😸

The struggle is real, Mason trying to climb on top of the hay bail 😂, totally did not see that coming. Honestly, you two really delivered on an epic review. Mason is an example of someone in the honors college cutting loose and having fun. What determined Kia to bring the Seltos to production so early, name it a 2021 model, and not a 2020 model?
It was definitely lots of fun all the way through the experience! And as for the model years, brands can be odd about them so we don't really know

I think the seltos front bumper from Australia looks way better than this seltos from America, I don't understand why Kia have to give USA a different bumper can't they just keep the same design.
Think it's to give them a better approach angle? I like the Aussie look too with HUD,just bought one. Ventilated seats are a bonus also.

Was going to get this or the Kona Limited, even looked at the Taos but ended up with the CX30. More premium look and feel, trusted transmission, and overall great reliability
Looking for an AWD Colorado vehicle in the next couple months and have a 30k budget. The SX Turbo checks all the boxes for me. Will be seeing a dealer soon, methinks.

Hyundai and KIA are determined to take every market segment from Nissan in the USA leaving them with outdated truck platforms. Infiniti may need to surrender in 2020.
Nissan is asleep. It will be a long time before they can even offer anything close. This thing is remarkable for what it is.

Another competitive offering from Kia, but the lack of standard safety tech is disappointing. Looks like the EX is the best deal in this lineup to get a nicely equipped model without breaking the bank. Btw...watched a couple of other reviews from this event, and you guys are among the best for relaying the right level of detail.

Yes, available now. And faux leather is supposed to be more durable than the real stuff

As are ventilated front seats, heated rear, heated steering wheel & heads up display! (On the SX turbo)👏🏼 no two toned roof though so sunroof is standard in many of the upper trims including the SX turbo.
Wish the LED headlights was an option on some of the lower models.
It is somewhat weird that that isn't the case... Just happens to be one of those features that manufacturers still think should be kept as a premium feature instead of standard equipment. Can't FULLY blame them, because it is a good way to show anybody who does know about cars that you spent the extra money to get it, rather than them having to be inside the car to know the difference.
Devon Gee yes, it’s disappointing that some manufacturers still think like that... but Kia could have at least offered LED headlights as an option, like they did on the Forte with the Premium Package and on the Soul with the Designer Package. Or they could have kept the LEDs but slightly changed the design, like Hyundai did on the Sonata.
@@Sami.the.auto.advisor yeah it is uniquely annoying that the Seltos is the outlier so far in that option list. I know that all of their other models subtract from likely the Rio can have LED lights below the top trim..
If they sell enough S's I'm sure they'll make it standard equipment at some point. But if they sell more SX's, maybe not
Totally agree. I WANT the LED's light all around, but really don't want the turbo. Should be offered somehow with a non-turbo option. I'm really torn now. EX or SX. I HATE the halogen lights.....especially with the cool LED DRL's. Kia should be ashamed to send cars out 1/2 LED, 1/2 halogen.
They will sell very well. Kia is killing it! They must have wonderful designers. What you save on gas, put in college fund for your kids. Great for young. Families, empty nesters, or retired folks. Kia, keep putting out reliable cars and you will surpass Toyota and Honda.

LX has AWD.... so folks in snow country will favour the LX over the FWD of the S for the same price.

How was the Seltos’ DCT in city traffic? You said it was generally responsive but I have seen several reviews talking about how it’s jerky and inconsistent in slow traffic. Did you experience any of that?
From what I remember, it performed quite well in the city. The DCT feels more responsive than the CVT on the lower trims

NoPreset SnarkLimit that’s the saddest rebuttal I’ve ever received. What Kia offers in Europe doesn’t equal the price of rice in China. Kia doesn’t offer it here so you won’t get it here. So you should be shopping for Acura or Lexus or some other manufacturer that offers the features you want. Kia obviously isn’t offering it here. It’s a sub $30k vehicle and you are asking for features that aren’t in Kias economy car lineup: you seem to be forgetting this is a low-end offering. Sad.

@AsakoKagurazaka Canada here, I just bought mine, the Seltos SX, and it has the sunroof, HUD, seat cooling for driver and passenger, and rear seats are heated also.
I don't think this plays in the CH-R/HR-V segment. More the Trailblazer/Escape/CR-V, IMHO, based on the dimensions you've talked about.
Seems like a solid release from Kia. There was a LOT of road noise coming into the cabin during the 1st half of the driving segment. You had the decibel meter right there wedged under the driver the entire time! Perhaps you decided against showing it given it was disappointingly noisy.
The roads around San Antonio were emitting a certain tone of noise that was picked up by the microphone a lot more than normal. It wasn't nearly as loud in real life as the video makes it seem like. We did test it out with the decibel meter but we had to cut that out of the final video since what we said didn't make sense
This and the Kona have loud road noise mentioned in other reviews, unfortunately.

I felt the same way but this very nice as well I love the Volvo XC40 but the price really gets up there once adding features but I love the orange leather the Volvo has as an option all and all good job Kia I’ll buy it since I can afford xc40 I want

what's with the flashing behind the steering wheel, that would drive me crazy!
It's just the way some cameras capture LED displays, won't be "blinking" in person.
It still makes me mad that the Telluride doesn't have a fob remote start.
We're hoping the 2021 will get it

Two things that bother me with Seltos compare to the competition. Sunroof not standard on SX and adaptive cruise not available on most of the trims. I like that for subcompact SUV Seltos has more trunk space and rear leg room than Crosstrek or Mazda CX30.
I really don't like that the hood ends above the Kia symbol, if it continued like four more inches until it meets the grill it would have looked a lot better in the front. Otherwise, not bad.
It's all fun and games until you realize that the seltos looks like a volvxc40...

Since I've been a Japanese car buyer all my life Toyota Lexus I'm going to have to go with Genesis I think it's the GV80 that is one bad mother fire I'm not sure if the steel frame on the truck SUV is a bright idea but overall that is one bad modifier
Inside cabin seems so noisy

I drove one yesterday I noticed the loud road noise inside the cabin as well. Other reviewers have mentioned that. Unfortunate.
Why Kia copy Skoda? Seen the one , but Skoda Karoq is much better, more practical and better material inside and outside, also better driving experience.

What's with this leatherette s***!?!!!!!!! It's fake leather people!!!! That means vinyl!!!!! Don't get me wrong! I like the car! I'd be willing to pay a little more for real leather. Or pay less on the top end to loose the fake leatherette s***, and give me a higher quality cloth.

The use of real leather will make this car cost very expensive. As far as Seltos is considered an affordable vehicle, Kia don't use real leather.
However, this artificial leather is also high quality and comfortable.

This car sucks. Bad Hyundai reliability and NO STANDARD SAFETY FEATURES. The fact that ACC is only available on the higher trims is definitely going to turn people away from this car. Also, SO MANY BLANK SWITCHES ON A TOP TRIM VEHICLE!!!!!
Oh my god I keep moving through this video to find more Hyundai cost cutting BS. Hard touch on the dash? E-Parking Brake with Brake Hold only on the top trim? Again, this car is trash. Toyota is going to take all their sales once again.
Like, sure, this car is supposed to be nice and sort of luxurious, but safety features should NOT be a luxury.
