Just so nobody is surprised, next week's reaction will be to the OVA "Simple People", not episode 40. It will be the final OVA they're reacting to (and they've already reacted to it at the time of this comment). After next week, it's a straight shot from 40-64. Please respect the crew's preference to watch these as they become relevant, rather than skipping them or tacking them on to the end of the series.

I don't want to worry about the OVA's now! Especially before episode 40! I still don't understand why these shitty OVA's are being forced upon the viewers when the majority of them don't want to see it...crew's preference? I'm not buying that, they seemed so disinterested in the last OVA (rightfully so, it was shit). If you're so adament about ithem watching OVA's, post it as bonus content then, but you won't do that right?
Hey, a little explanation. That Armstrong girl with the piano on a past episode wasn't General Olivier. That was her youngest sister. You guys called her a younger version of the General. It couldn't be her, because that flashback is from just a few months ago in the series.

Scar is honestly the best textbook example of a villain turn hero done right. He started off to us as a badass villain, then as we learn more about him he was a sympathetic villain, then slowly but surely made his way to antihero, I'll leave it there so not to spoil what comes next, but his lines of badassery are unrivaled, my favorite still being "The only solace from my wrath will be damnation!"

I know it's subjective but most would agree that Zuko was best.
I’m honestly not sure which I prefer, because I think there wasn’t a part of Scar’s story that wasn’t told perfectly, but we get more of Zuko and feel more sympathetic towards him (or at least I did) and while not all of it is perfect, we see more variety, like with the season 2 finale, because Scar’s is basically just a straight line from badass sympathetic villain, to badass good guy, whereas Zuko had twists and turns like with the season 2 finale and the first half of season 3 and all the good struggle we get there, or even earlier in the chase where Zuko and Iroh and the Gaang work together against Azula, where at that point he’s kind of a neutral character. I think you’re right that Scar is the textbook example, but Zuko’s is more creative example that to me is more intriguing
So we can agree that those two are the examples to look at if you're trying to write such a character.

Regarding Bebop and Rocksteady. I always assumed that they can't go home because while they can look human, it takes effort and the bestial form is their new natural state
No, it's just because they're "officially" dead and going home would implicate their families in a state-secret-shitstorm, no need the reinvent the wheel about it.
Plus I'm assuming that while they were being experimented on they were "officially" missing for a time. They would have a lot of explaining to do that they can't afford to.
I think that both forms are their "natural" state and the effort part only comes into play when they are transforming. Thus, I would compound the previous statements about the "state-secret-shitstorm" with the consideration that their new bodies have incredibly strong animal instincts that may or may not negatively impact their families. I know if I was in that situation that would be one of my biggest concerns, and I would NOT want to take a chance and stay away from my loved ones, since I wouldn't know if I was a danger to them or not.
Plus, if you really think about the effects of revealing that you're not dead, it would be better for them not to know. Your family just got over most of the grief of losing you, and now you pop up out of the blue, alive, but no longer yourself. They now have to cope with the fact that you are no longer human, and you can't stay because you have to go to try to get your original body back. So you have to say goodbye to them again, and now they have to sit at home and worry about you... again. Worst of all, if you actually died they would have to mourn you... *again.*
I prefer to save my family the emotional devastation and keep myself a secret, and only reveal that I'm alive when my mission was complete.
While that's an interesting food-for-thought that you've brought up about human-chimera hybrids, I like to put in my own thoughts about why they can't go back to their families (and that's assuming that they are somehow able to escape the military in the first place.)Think about the hidden culture and values of Amestris. Throughout the series, we keep hearing how human transmutation is regarded as a terrible sin in alchemy. As a result, chimera transmutation is barely acceptable since it not involves the manipulation o the organism's bodies but it's also implied that you can manipulate their souls to a certain extent as well. So to the world of alchemists, doing that kind of thing to a human being is practically unthinkable. Only the most depraved, like Shou Tucker, would even dabble in such a practice. Why else would the military place a death sentence eon those caught performing that?Because Amestris is such an alchemy-heavy country, it's no wonder that sort of mentality bleeds into the minds of civilians as well. Going back to Zampano and Jerso, it's no wonder they view themselves as monsters even though they can still transform back to their human forms. Their families would be the same. Once they found out about their chimera bodies, there's no guarantee that they would've accepted them as they are. Zampano and Jerso are under the notion that their loved one would reject them now that they are seen as nothing more than monsters. As a result, they have nowhere to go other than the military who still sees them as valuable pawns. That's why they are so eager to join Scar's group. Al's situation gave them hope that they can finally have their lives back.(I can't believe I practically wrote an essay on why Zampano and Jerso refuse to escape the military and go back to their families. Why can't I do the same to my homework?)

I love FMA but this is what’s going to happen with MHA. They are going to get bored and we’re not getting a reaction from them since they aren’t really familiar with the anime genre.
Well even if they get bored with MHA it is a shorter series currently than FMA and if they find themselves really not enjoying it they can stop after season 1 or 2.
TBF this _was_ a boring episode. No big revelations outside of Al's body. I don't recall any MHA episodes being as... "empty", as this one was.
MHA is fun when you've seen Naruto, One Piece, Bleach and Dragon Ball. It's fun cause it's new. I don't think they enjoy FMAB to it's fullest cause there not anime fans. they like it but not as much as they could.

yeah honestly if they were just watching and vibing, i'd be fine with them forgetting things - but taking notes and theorizing makes their errors look worse. i'll finish up watching it since they deserve that much.

second, if drivers aren't the problem, and cleaning them with a cotton swab doesn't work, you'll probably have to get it repaired. The usb drives on the right side of my laptop crapped out a week after I got it. There was no home-solution.

Don't you see it? xD They try to be serious, but they can't completely hide their real feelings about this anime. For me it looks like the characters are too idealistic for them. I used to love FMA:B, of course and I watched their older reactions but now they behave like they are not so much interested in this anime like earlier...
CliffHanger u look into things too much , i didnt see any difference, its just a matter of the scenes n the arc of the story that being told in each eps which is very relevant to how they will react according to those eps

The english dub is superb. You're just being a weeb.
Enjoying subs is a way to appreciate originality. It's what the only true version the director of the shows were meant to deliver because the OG director directed the voice acting. Now if the director of the show directed the English dub, too, that would be acceptable, which is not the case. Whatever language it is, I always watch the original with subtitle. I wouldn't enjoy Harry Potter, LotR, Avatar/Legend of Korra etc. with Japanese dub either way. If appreciation of originality causes me to be called a weeb then so be it.

Yea you're a weeb because you're still subjected to reading subtitles that can be translated in a number of ways while hiding the actual meaning of things that can't be directly translated.
