Zampano and Jerso (the chimera guys) were test subjects for military experiments, and given their attitude towards being chimera, I think it's a safe assumption that they didn't give informed consent. Regardless, they were assigned to Kimblee, who they say doesn't accept failure and will probably kill them for it. So once again, it's a safe assumption that they were going after Scar mainly to stay alive.
Also, Marketa calls them evil, but they really never show themselves as evil. The only thing they really do is attack Scar (a wanted murderer), and then try to defend themselves from the Elrics. Their turn isn't as much of a 180 as she seemed to think.
Yea the other episode kinda depicts them as antagonists but in retrospect, they're just... soldiers
Winry and Miles are basically the first two to break the cycle of hatred! They could've easily went down the same path as Scar with hate and vengeance consuming them, but they didn't let that happen. It was a nice contrast to see, and I love how we can see their actions and words affecting Scar and it's making him reflect on everything as a result.

I don't think they are/were the first. Plenty of Ishvalans have broken this cycle. You see all the survivors of the civil war, and only one is an active terrorist (Scar, at least in FMAB Anime). In fact, in one episode (I think where they find out about Maria Ross), a group of them stop one Ishvalan man from taking his anger out on Ed. Maybe Miles is one of the first. And Winry we do get to see how she evolves to be able to break her personal cycle.
Meanwhile the Normies were saying "shoot him!" when Winry had the chance to kill Scar.
That intro always brings the feels for me.

Kinda. Netflix did split them up, but in the anime world there are things called "cours" which are like seasons, and anime like FMA:B that run for multiple cours kinda treat every 12-13 episodes as a "season finale", even though it technically isn't.

Which is similar to what was implied with the chimeras who followed the original Greed; hell, Martel's outfit looked like green military fatigues! I'm pretty sure that in their case, the manga outright spelled out that Greed busted them out of captivity after they were transmuted, explaining their loyalty and dedication to him.

Scar smiles twice in the whole series. Once when he first fought Ed and Al when he says “gutsy one, aren’t you”. The last time Scar smiles is when *spoiler*
Let's not ignore that Scar's a victim a much as Winry. Winry is completely in her right not to forgive him, because he takes responsibility for killing her parents and doesn't try to justify it. However, let's remember that Scar was attacked by Kimblee then woke up hurt and confused in an enemy's tent with his brother's arm attached to his body and a bunch of tools everywhere. He had NO REASON to think those were good people, only that he needed to run real fast because _did those people just put his brother's arm on him?_ I feel like if Winry knew the full story of what Scar went through that day she would consider forgiving him. Because in his position he did nothing wrong.
About the Chimeras being able to simply "turn human": We don't know if their "human" forms are what they even used to look like, or if the animal forms are their default forms (maybe they have to concentrate to maintain the human forms). And if there are other drawbacks like pain, dissociation, sterility, etc., in addition to the animal-like thought processes & feelings of not belonging in those bodies that we already know about.

Not sure if spoilers but one is explicitly said to have a family and wife back home iirc, so at least one of them probably used to be human
ashleigh Johnson Doesn't go against anything I said. We know they used to be 100% human. However, the question every single reactor asks in this episode is "Why do they say they want their bodies back? They can transform at will." But we know from Greed's half-dog chimera friend Dolcetto that even his "human" form is affected by the experiments that turned him into a chimera. How much? Well, at least enough to make Jerso & Zampano give up feeling like they could ever go back to their families.

In the manga, in the volume dealing with the Ishvalan War, there is a panel with a couple characters talking and in the background is an injured soldier being carried on a stretcher. That injured soldier is Jerso, the frog chimera with the saliva power. He looks pretty much the same between the Ishvalan War and the present day except for his weight gain.
My guess is that the "human" forms these chimeras can take is indeed what they actually look like. However, the bodies they have are not their "real" bodies as what they have now is a fusion between human and animal.
Keep in mind, Scar didn’t so much kill Winry’s parents. He was completely insane at the time. But when asked why he took full responsibility for their deaths. I love him for that. That was his apology to Winry. And Winry accepted it. That is not to-be confused with forgiving his actions. And Scar is more and more questioning his actions. I know you keep calling him a bad guy. But he is just a guy. In fact, he is the tragic good guy of his own story, protecting his people from the murderers that are the state alchemists. Having accidentally killed Winry’s parents in a moment of insanity, he is forever blocked off from god, so he chose the path of a martyr. But in light of Edward protecting Winry from him looking like his brother protecting him from Kimbly, Winry’s words echoing his Master’s, and Mile’s philosophy on how to react to their murders, Scar is not sure if the path he is on is the right one. This also further mirrors old Scar’s philosophy- old Scar called alchemy evil and to use the enemy’s methods evil, and yet, here he is now. He has become the enemy he so hated.

it's the Automail. during the Rush Valley episodes it was mentioned that if he had lighter prosthetics instead, there might be an increase in his height. Ed even mentioned before that his attacks are much faster than before. i will say that he does stick with it from here on out, because changing it back is never brought up again. i won't say any more than that, future wise.
No, he has had them for a day or so. He is getting taller anyway, but having the lighter automail from now on will help.
it was shown that he'd gotten taller, but by a small amount. the steel automail was stunting his growth though, which is what he was told in Rush Valley. it's more like his growth with the regular automail was like someone walking through a hallway covered in syrup, but with the northern automail, it's like the hallway is starting to clear up. his body can get taller normally without the prosthetics slowing him down.
It's his natural growth, as intended by Arakawa-san. Remember the shoulders comment by Winry?
she said that they got broader, she never mentioned anything about his height, specifically. and mainly that was because the one thing that haunted him his whole life became a symbol of hope, so he began to change, and Winry started to actually fall in love with him at that point. again, his growth was brought up after the first encounter with Scar, when Winry had to redo both the arm and leg. however in Rush Valley he was informed due to the weight of the steel prosthetics, it wasn't really helping the natural growth, which made Ed want them to be lighter, even though it was hypothetical at the time. the northern automail just decreases the weight to help it increase more than before. the increase back then was about a cm or 2 after a long time of having them, but with the upgrade his height starts to show more improvement. yeah, it's not a massive increase, he wasn't that much shorter than Winry to begin with, but it is an increase.
It is in fact confirmed by Ed on the eve of the last day that he kept his northern automail. The carbon fiber in it turns out handy.

The only ones in the military that are 100% evil are the top brass, all other military personel doesn't know the full picture and can be assumed to just be following orders.
The chimeras were experimented on by the military against their will and their families were told they died, so they just followed orders because they had nowhere to go and no one to come home to. When Al refused to let them be killed even though they were "the enemy" and told them there might be a way to get back to normal, it was a very easy choice because they themselves said that Kimblee would straight up kill them for failing to capture Scar.
Also, the fact that they can look like regular humans is irrelevant because they view themselves as monsters. It's implied that even if they could go back to their families in their present state, they couldn't bare to be with them and pretend to be normal when deep down they "know" they're freaks. That's why Al got to them.

I don't see what the problem is with the two Chimera soldiers. They can look like regular humans, change to their Chimera forms if they need to fight (better than just standing there human and relatively weak) and can change back after they've finished working.
Scar reminds me of Jet regarding the way he was wronged and how he responds to that. The only difference to Jet is that Scar is way more competent in his revenge .

I think them turning was also used as a way to show or remind us not everyone in the military are the bad guys only the people at the very top. It also fits with Greed I’s first crew who were also experimented on by the military secretly and kept hidden by Bradley. So the new super animal soldiers not having a choice or even being lied to about the experiment had merit to it. The only difference is it seems the top brass kept them in service for the dirtier jobs while telling their loved ones they died.
The transformation into chimeras is consensual, but the military perform this procedure only on soldiers that are on the brink of death or were left seriously injured in action. So yes, they consented to become chimeras and all the consequences that came with it, but it wasn't much of a choice either.

Streaming services often rob you of post-credit scenes. Usually it happens because autoplay jumps you into the next episode, sometimes because they just truncate end titles and anything after. Amazon doesn't seem to have a way to turn autoplay off in some clients any more. I couldn't comment on Netflix.
It feels like a way for them to save on streaming bandwidth, less play for your pay.
