I am really trying new ways a fishing and just getting into soft plastics and just wanted to say thank you, this gives me a little more insight to how the plastics work. Thanks for taking the time to do this.
Very cool.. I like pulling my new baits around me in the water just to see how they swim. That way I know how to retrieve them and also make sure the bait is on the hook correctly and swimming nicely and not just football spiraling. Great video to show off how the different baits swim with different retrieves.
Really productive session. well explained. Great job targeting a difficult skill a lot of people need to learn. Please do more retrieving videos. Thanks a lot!
Thanks for your videos my wife and I are new to fishing and kayaking, and are learning plenty from your videos. We appreciate you sharing your knowledge with the public. We have not caught any fish on lures yet or had a great day catching bigger reds or trout but we know our day is coming. We fish mainly between Aransas Pass and Port A and in Bayside. We are learning our way around by using goggle maps and the hook n line maps as you recommended. Once again we appreciate your sharing your knowledge!!
Thanks for another great video! I need to give those Egrets a try. A retrieve I like to do is reel (3-4 cranks), then pause for a split second, then reel - if there are trout around that pause will always trigger a reaction strike!
Thanks for posting this video TRH! I really can see what is going on with the bait vs the rod motion and helps me understand a lot more. Going to try using what I learned this coming weekend.
excellent tip, thanks man. that's what I needed, I just started wade fishing with lures again and I'm clueless. this and your last video helped me out alot, will try it tomorrow.
I love the saltwater assassin line. I do very well with them on speckled trout and bass. The are very sensitive and even a little motion causes the tail to go nuts. I use to use DOA but you need a lot of motion to get the tail moving. I kinda like to work my paddle tails slowly tho. Only downside is they tend to tear up pretty badly by the 3rd to 4th fish.
People have thought of it. All through the 90's every fishing trade show in Australia had a perspex tank where you could see lure action underwater. Oh you mean people from America. Yeah they're 30 years behind the rest of the world again. What a surprise.
@@Noises Coming from a guy that lives in a country that was founded by reject criminals, and is known around the world to be populated by obnoxious douchebags. When it comes to comparing what America vs Australia has contributed to the world lets just say that you guys are a little "down under"... LOL!
Id like to know if you have changed your mind towards any of these lures now. Have you started using any others instead that you found work better? An updated video maybe?
Cool. I like doing upwards light twitches while retrieving as it mimics a wounded baitfish. I like that last paddletail with the heavy tail. It looks like something you could provide a very slow presentation with, which I do in the hottest & coldest days. You have a link of that lure? I have some of those bladed jigheads (BAAD marine & Norton) that let me slow way down. But I think the intense vibration the blades give tend to intimidate predators more than entice them.
TRH you are amazing and help everyone so much most fisherman are shy about there tricks you give it all with no worries would love to contact you for some tips im from corpus christi
What's the right rod for softbaits in saltwater.... for example I am using 4 or 5 inch paddle tail with 14 to 20 gram jig heads and Texas rigs to target mj and barramundi in estuaries
I never used artificial bait before, but I will try. One question. I didn't see any lead, or something heavy linked in line, Its look that you used just a hook and bait, Iam right?
I have a quick question, I am used to spinning reels and now have started using baitcasters in saltwater, after fishing I usually spray down my spinning reel... How should I clean off my baitcaster, after saltwater fishing? (How do you clean yours?)
Quick question, and it may be a dumb one but I am just now switching from live bait to lures, and I was wondering when you switch lures do you just remove the lure from jighead or do you remove the whole jighead with the lure and put a new set up on?
There is another one that shows some of the same stuff in a pool But what would make it really good and informational is to show it in a pool with waves and in a kayak for those that have a kayak ,to give a more realistic conditions on how it is done. For the ones that have kayaks only way of getting on the water Just no one has done one yet that I have seen with realistic conditions . A swimming pool is ok but no substitute for the real thing Where to a pool with waves would be better ideal way to demo the ways of doing the baits
I have a question: when fishing at a lake while using lures as in worm lures or minnow lures, does the depth that I let the line drop matter? Or can I just use this technique in the video and have the same success?
Hey man great video, but I do have a question. have you ever used the savage gear 3d crab. I think they look like they would catch a lot of fish but I can't find reviews on them
Exactly the type of help I was after. Seeing the action underwater is really valuable. Thanks mate

The feeling I get when I get the notification that TRH has uploaded another video. It is like a small Christmas each time.
hahaha thanks man!
Exactly what I was looking for. Knowing how lures move underwater completely changes how you fish.
This is the best fishing tutorial on uTube. Exactly what i needed. Thank you so much for making it.

I love how the fluorocarbon is invisible in the clear water. When it hits slowmo I keep waiting for a SLAM!! LOL
Great video just wondering if you've ever tried any of the yo-zuri 3d minnows just wondering if they are worth the$ thanks
Quick question, and it may be a dumb one but I am just now switching from live bait to lures, and I was wondering when you switch lures do you just remove the lure from jighead or do you remove the whole jighead with the lure and put a new set up on?
