another great video, this is what us viewers want to see in fishing videos. yes we like to see people catching fish, but the most important thing is what their using.
Been catching reds my whole life and I have not hooked into a Red from a kayak YET....lol. We use the same type set up here too. I also use some type of swim bait and always have a set up with a popping cork. Southeast Louisiana. South of New Orleans. Keep on fishing!!!!!
Try the gambler lure its a lil bigger than yr probably using but use it that thing has hooked up more reds than any other lure I've used this year the penny color or tequila dam good lure. Its a paddle tail
yes ezye2011, your spooling the braid to loose on your reel. you need to have tension on the line when spooling it on your reel. that way you won't have a birds nest or it won't sink in when you have a big fish on.
I kayak bass fish in Tennessee a lot. Leaving in the morning and going to Gulf Shores Al and trying my hand at this saltwater fishing so I am learning from you videos. Realizing popping cork is a must....I was leaning toward live shrimp but after your videos will try some soft bait shrimp. I have some swim shads I already have I might even try. I use a lot of swivels to connect to my baits for good action...would that be good to use in your opinion or just tie it to bait hook? Also.. a bait shop I called said I could use 10-15lb line...your thoughts???
I always tie knots over using swivels personally, and i usually use 30lb braid, but if you were using mono 12-15 would probably be ok. Its very rare that I will break off with braid, more likely to break off with mono line. Good luck out there!
I'm also a fan of them. They are the least bulky speed clip that allows for lots of lure movement. If you like to switch out lures a lot like me then I suggest you give them a try. If anyone has an alternative suggestion please reply.
Personally, don't like em, and don't usually trade out my topwater while on the water. I have a rod for every rig so I don't need them. Just would end up spending extra money on something I don't use
Hey Texas Redfish Hunter, really like you're videos. I just wanted to know which spots you recommend for inshore fishing around the Texas city and Galveston area? I'm trying to catch some bull reds, and you mentioned they start running in big spools from October through November.
probably both. If you're in a marsh a pole stake works great, if you're on a reef or in a bay where its 4ft deep you'll want an anchor. they both have their uses
@@RedfishHunter What length of leader would you use on surf rods? Fishing 50lb Jbraid Grand on a Daiwa sha 30 for the first time on a 10ft oceanmaster. Debating whether or not to add a leader to it. Thx
Pamela Edwards anywhere there is saltwater fishing gear. the Japanese is there to sell it it both here and japan without having to print two different packages.

Drew, I need help bud! The Hunchback lure you use, how on Earth did you get it? I have been trying to get some, but you can't order anything directly from their website and none if their posted dealers carry the Hunchback! How do I get one of these! I'd prefer the Pink-a-licious color that you use, but at this point, I'll settle for nearly anything with that wake action! HELP A NEW YAKKER OUT BROTHER! Lol.
I get them directly from the new dealer ha but they are out of stock until like late August, so it might be awhile before you can get your hands on one
Texas Redfish Hunter Well crap... any chance you can provide a solid contact medium for getting in touch with them so I can grab some once they resupply? Also, can you recommend another decent action wake lure until then?
This is about the third video in a row that I've watched from this guy and he keeps saying he uses a blood knot to attach the hooks. Gentlemen, blood knots are used to tie two lengths of line together, not to tie on your hooks. Half blood knots can be used to tie on a hook, but are not common.

Thanks I’ve been using swivels with lures I’m gonna try to learn the fg knot
This answered a bunch of questions for me... thanks man
Good video and informative. Keep up the good work.

thanks for the info. i guess being on the water on bigger boats for so many years has me stuck with the bowling knot no slip easy to untie and strong
when I used braid on my baitcaster, the line would dig into the braid that's on the spool. maybe I am spooling it wrong?
yeah go get it spooled at a store, that shouldn't happen
Good information as usual.. Tks
Do you experience any line twist because of the braid to fluoro knot? Or does it affect the movement of the lure at all?
Can you tell me where you got the yak paddle that looks like a red fish?
Thank you brudda very informative 👍🏼I’m ready to go!
How’s your leader knot going through those micro guides?

Do you need a sensitive rod for flounder?
I use Norman Speed Clips at the end of the fluorocarbon line so I can swap out baits quickly. Have you tried them or any other clips?

morning drew!
How strong is this hook? Can you also provide link for the hook and the soft plastic? Thank!
How long of a mon/flouro leader do you go with?
12-15 inches of mono

jonathan juarez I know a couple spots for trout in palacios but either have to wade or kayak
What lures do you recomend for galvaston yetis
Thoughts on the H&H salt and pepper chartreuse tail cocahoe minnow for reds?
works too!
fixing to buy a yak, what you recommend an anchor or a pole stake

absolutely, I always use leader unless I'm feeling extra lazy.

How do I get a redtail rod I’ve been trying can’t find one
Hey man I've seen on a few of your videos your gulp has Chinese on it. Where are you gettin them from? Might be a good deal or something?
Pamela Edwards anywhere there is saltwater fishing gear. the Japanese is there to sell it it both here and japan without having to print two different packages.
And is there anywhere else you can get them? Thanks
Cabelas and bass pro carry them too. You can find them in a bunch of places.
Do you ever have any problems with 13 fishing
I have not
is spiderwire braid good or not?
Jounior Martinez good
When does rigging 3 come out love the series
Should be fairly soon! Thanks for watching.
What is the green rod brand or exact rod please

Yeah I can't seem to find rods on the website? Just hats and sunglasses
do you ever fish for red snapper from the yak???
don't usually go offshore
Same rig for trout in shore fishing?
Mono works just as good.
I like braid for strength and sensitivity, but yeah mono gets the job done too
Fish with what you afford and what works
I agree with that
Nice video
I never put flouro on a reel just mono on leaders

thanks man, and right now I'm not guiding, but should be planning some meet ups
+Texas Redfish Hunter cool
Or you could use my Saltwater Rattler jigheads available on ebay, better and cheaper than Rockport.
Drew your going to end up forcing me to switch to braided line. I havent convinced myself yet.
you should! lots of benifits

Fr33domBeard you are correct, it is the half I use if I don't tie a loop knot. I use fg or double uni for my braid to flouro knot.
Wuz up bro, I had a problem with power pro. Can you compare power pro to spider wire? One of us may learn something. Yes, I'd like to convert you. 😂
I use the chicken on a chain and only catch trout wanna catch a red with it
Your gonna catch all kinds of fish it's what the fish want and what they are biting
What’s the reel
Nice vid buddy FISH ON
Thanks
