- While on vacation, we toured the Belize Zoo again as we just love this place! All of their animals are both rescued and native to Belize. Watch to see what all we found!

My daughter would've acted exactly just like Emily - running and waving her arms yelling , "There's so many tapirs here!" while I'd be like Ed, "That's a deer, kidlet."

We nicknamed my mamaws cat taco cat cuz when she lays down her fat covers her paws and she looks like taco meat!
Shh.. they aren't fat, they're just eating really good 😂😂😂

That's our tuxedo kitty, Patsy, though she's more muscle than fat. She loves to be carried around, but after a couple of minutes, your arm's begging for mercy.
Doesn't even need to be that fat a kitty, Mainecoons and Wegies get crazy big just by breed design.
Emily should get her own show on animal planet. She could totally do it.
I'd tune in for every single episode. :)

I'm from Belize and I didn't go to the zoo because all of belize is basically a zoo. It's soooo tropical everywhere. Edit* I remember once there was a flood and snakes where all over the streets and so were crocodiles. It was soo funny.
I'm not from Belize but if I want to go find some wild animals I can just go to the back of my house ,it's like a tiny jungle back there

@@jesselox3470 It depends on what you want to do. In the city, the only places I recommend would be the Museum of Belize, Tourist Village and if you want to some shopping, go visit the stores on Albert Street Stores.
I don't even have/plan to have reptiles. I just watch you because you're a great presenter that obviously cares about animals and can make me actually interested in things like "how hognose snakes eat". As long as the Em/Ed combo is putting out videos, I'll watch them!

I’ve been to this zoo! I loved it for the exact reasons you said, it may not be large or have numerous animals but it’s natural and has great example of the native species. It was a great experience.
We were told not to get to close to the tapir enclosure. As sometimes you may get caught behind them using the bathroom. For those who don’t know.. it projectile pees!! 🤣

I absolutely love this video, great to see such a wonderful zoo in the spotlight! also loving the natural enclosures, really happy to see the animals in such natural habitats.
Now I'm pretty sure my spirit animal is the tapir. Except I wasn't that cute as a baby.

I love the Belize Zoo! I was bitten by one of the boas there when I was 14. I'm 27 now and just bought my first snek, a 3 month-old baby ball python. His name is Rupert. Your channel has been very helpful and I love it! Thank you!

That was beautiful, i wished my country did the same things with the zoo.... ours is just sad... and I LOVED THIS thank you for showing us this. I recently visited cologne's zoo (germany) after learning that they do research and rehabilitation, and it was beautiful. But great to see a central American country having a good zoo
That is soo cool! I honestly wish all the Zoos were like this. But this one is so cool. I would love to go visit. I love Jaguars I think they are so gorgeous. (But my absolute favorite is the Wolf, not featured in the video but just a fun fact about me lol)

Oh Emily, don't you know by now that we would watch you talking about the grass growing or water trying go boil or any random silly thing. We're here for you and Ed and all the amazing things you teach us, be it reptiles, other animals, or anything in between. Also, I watch 4 (read 8) straight hours of your videos as well, so don't worry about the length of them either! We love everything you do!

I’ll never forget getting to see some beautiful keel-billed toucans in the wild in Guatemala. They were so gorgeous! I just love them so much❤❤❤
Me watching this video 3 years after it was posted. I love Snake Discovery for teaching me about a zoo I was lucky enough to visit 7 years before this video was posted. Time travel happened for me tonight thank you.

Yep, Jaguars don't like conflict so they were probably small dogs. Some farmers here in Brazil keep 2 to or more big dogs like Rottweilers or Brazilian Mastiffs to keep jaguars away from domestic animals since Jaguars are about the same size and weight as a Brazilian mastiff (between 50 to 100kg depending on the locality)

I absolutely adore this video. Your enthusiasm for all animals, and each animal's part in the ecosystem regardless of how big or small, is amazing to me and makes me have so much more appreciation for life on the whole. It also makes me treasure my own native animals just that much more!

I LOVE your enthusiasm! I visited the Belize Zoo in the mid-90's while spending a week in the Crooked Tree area with a wonderful guide at the now unfortunately defunct Chau Hiix Lodge, on Spanish Lagoon. Belize is such a friendly, beautiful country and the zoo was one of the week's highlights! So glad to see that it's doing well nearly 30 years after my visit!

I love conservationist zoos! I'd watch for hours if you guys did a series on this zoo or zoos like it. This may be a reptile channel, but I'd personally watch whatever animal related content you'd choose to put on as you clearly love animals and your an amazing ambassador to help show why keeping these animal populations in the wild is important.

I used to love going to zoos as a kid and always dreamed of being a zookeeper or something along those lines! Thanks for bringing those good memories back and us viewers along for the experience!

Belize is an English speaking country :)
What makes Belize so unique is that we are the only English speaking country in Central America. Although we do have a lot of Mestizo’s living there too.
A few years ago we went to Belize and we went to the zoo! It is so amazing and I would recommend anyone to go there if you are in Belize!
Not really tapirs arent all that fun to look at im from belize btw and theres barely any animals there its not that intresting but i guess the expanding now sinxe there getting more crocs and anteaters
