Wow. This is fantastic care for a breeders. I’m so used to the typical breeder boxes and the sort of setups you see at a reptile expo. You can tell he not only knows his stuff, but he truly cares for his animals.
Another great tip for a cheap background for your bearded dragon's enclosure, is adhesive shelf liners, my bearded dragon's enclosure looks like a wood lodge (because he's a manly Meep). You can find them at the dollar store, or if you want it to be fancy, you can get a large sheet from Amazon for a decent price, and they're typically sold in 5ft or more in length. Also, I've been meaning to get some bee pollen, but I keep forgetting to get some, my boi Meep is super picky and doesn't like to eat his veggies, he did as a baby, but now he turns his snoot up at the salads I get him. Also, that female leather back made me think of my first bearded dragon, Piper. I miss her so much. She also needed a bra for that dragon rack lol. Meep too was a dull looking baby when I got him. He's brightened up in colours over time. He's got some beautiful blue bars on his back. And he beard is a light Orange.
I start breeding snakes one day, I should remember the nontoxic paint trick - I was wondering how I'd be able to tell them apart once they hatched in order to keep track of them!
Just saw this yesterday; thanks for the bee pollen tip! Rosa actually ate greens today! She is a rescue from a bi-lingual special education classroom. She was NOY properly fed. She came to us morbidly obese and refusing to eat anything but superworms and crickets (handfed to her). She has been slimmed down and can now clumsily hunt worms in a dish. Have tried for over a year to get her to eat veggies. SHe will eat a few berries if presented in the tongs.
What cuties! I think a beardie might be in my future after seeing how sweet these guys are. It's obvious to see how much they care about their dragons, what an awesome breeder!
I remember at the University of Saskatchewan geology building, I was looking at their bearded dragons and one of them head-bobbed at me, and having no idea what that meant I head-bobbed back. Of course that made him more adamant about the head-bobbing, and we did that back and forth a bit before I got bored and left. Then I checked on google and found out I'd been having a dominance dispute with that bearded dragon, lol!
