Hey! I am an employee at reptile rapture, and I wanted to say it was super exciting to have you visit our store. You are the reason I started working there. So thank you for all the videos and inspiring me!
You can tell how genuinely happy talking about his animals made him. These are the type of breeders we should be supporting, notice he didnt mention a single word about the money he makes, he just talked about doing what he loves. This man breeds the animals because they're in his heart, not in his wallet. And I really highly respect that.
I think his tubs are a little sparse; not holding enough enrichment for his snakes. But he seems to, like you said, take great care of their health. 🤷♀️
Richard has a really enlightened philosophy towards rescue. He is absolutely right, he sells reptiles. He contributes to these animals numbers in captivity and not every owner is going to live up to the responsibility, so he steps in.
Richard helped me with my bearded dragon that wouldn't poop. The vet we took her to didn't help at all. Stopped and talk to him gave us a couple roaches for free she pooped later that day! Love this guy!
It was when we first got her from a previously owner (they couldn't keep her). Nothing we did... She was a year and a half old now going on 10 years. She's all good.
The baby savannah was adorable and GORGEOUS....I guess that's what a healthy baby savannah monitor looks like. That's pretty rare. Hopefully we will see more of these in the future to take strain off the wild population.
RockerCatErrorEncountered 404 or a reptile as a hole cause I can’t tell you how many times I’ve bought monitor lizard with parasites and and infections
Loving these 'touring' videos Emily, please do make more in the future. It's fantastic to see that you're sharing your (much deserved) platform with reputable breeders, as well as people who know and care about animals and their welfare as much as you and Ed do. Btw you've completely changed by view on snakes in the past six months so thank you!
This is a good look at small scale breeding. He doesn't alow his greed to outweigh the safety and happiness for his animals. And even though he uses rack systems they're nice and large.
and he handles them properly, doesn't just pick em up, wave them around for the camera saying how rare they are to entice buyers, and then throw them back into their tub. cough cough brian barczyk
Richard has a really enlightened philosophy towards rescue. He is absolutely right, he sells reptiles. He contributes to these animals numbers in captivity and not every owner is going to live up to the responsibility, so he steps in.
I'm quite impressed with reptile rapture he is one of the few breeders I have seen with properly sized enclosures and enrichment. I can tell that he truly is passionate about the reptiles he keeps not just the money they make him.
I think it’s awesome that he doesn’t power feed his animals!!!! To many breeders/owners do that with no care to the animals health or life expectancy. This was a great video.
I got my beautiful hog island boy from Reptile Rapture! All the animals I've seen from them have been wonderfully healthy, and Richard obviously cares a lot for them and knows his stuff for sure! Definitely a place I plan on visiting again for more reptiles in the future!
I purchased a beardy from Reptile Rapture a few months ago and I was incredibly impressed with their entire shop. They do an amazing job and I am excited to get more reptiles from them in the future! They do a fabulous job.
It’s absolutely lovely that he takes in rescue, because he’s not a rescue centre but he takes them in, gets them as healthy as possible and regimes them. A lot of reptiles would suffer otherwise or get released illegally. Amazing animals, it’s obvious the love and attention to detail in their care.
This has quickly become my favourite channel. My very first noodle is getting shipped to me this week and all your expertise makes me feel prepared to be a good snake-mommy! I also keep dropping random reptile facts on everyone I talk to. Love what you're doing and thanks for the videos!!
I love Reptile Rapture! They're very friendly and knowledgeable with a great selection of animals you can tell are well cared for. I only go there maybe every 2 months but they still remember me and my animals.
Reptile Rapture is my local store and I couldn't feel luckier. My current collection includes two uromastyx, a crested gecko, a ball python and a kingsnake I bought from Richard and they're all thriving. That's not surprising since they got a good such a good start at RR.
That 2nd spieces (the arboreal lizard) sounds perfect for what i had in mind.. Not too big, fun behaviour, beautiful color, easy to feed, good looking enclosure. I'm going to have to keep those in mind and research em.
Its really nice to see someone you love animals this much and breeds them with such good care and also has a personal connection with most of his animals
I absolutely love this series. Also Richard seems like a very good guy! Enjoyed how he takes in rescues and gives them such good care. I respect him so much
Awwwww I loved this!! I live in Madison and Richard is such an outstanding dude. He really works hard for the animals and has so much knowledge! It's awesome to see him get so much recognition. He's literally so kind and has taken so much time to be supportive and helpful with my own reptiles. Much love!
Would love to make it up to Reptile Rapture one day. Maybe this fall when we go to Chicago for Tinley Park. Love Richard's channel and his passion for reptiles (breeding and rescuing). His store looks amazing through video and photos. I imagine it's even better in person. 🦎👍
I'm SOO happy that Richard is getting more recognition! Him and his team are really awesome and I've been getting animals and supplies from them for 3 years now!! Love them so much XD
Oh, I love this video! I think I’ve just found a new channel that I absolutely have to subscribe to! Thank you so much for introducing him to us. How amazing was that blue frog at the end?! I need to know more! 😃💕
i just got a corn snake from them, and they were so nice. I got pretty fast replies back to emails, and the person was super super nice. The packaging was super sturdy, and even though it was cold where i live ( a few states south of Wisconsin) he was still fairly warm and in very good shape.
Whoohoo I’m early here for once! I’ve been a fan of your channel for a few weeks now ever since I stumbled upon it and have been watching your videos hardcore since! You are such an inspirational, positive, wonderful couple and and I tell everyone I know about your channel. I love the respect and gentleness you personally show to each and everyone of your “animals,” and how you don’t breed unnecessarily or cull the babies. You care so much even about reptiles that are defensive and bite you and it means so much to the animal lovers like myself out there. You inspire me to want to help animals. If you ever come out to Illinois I’d love to come see you in person and offer my support! Perhaps as your channel grows one day you’ll have opportunities for people to intern/volunteer with you. Wouldn’t that be cool?! You’re the next Steve Irwin, Snake Discovery! Have you ever heard of the Irwin family or worked with them? They are wonderful people and I bet they would love to learn about Rex and your snakes and such. You are going places. 😊 Keep up the funny, kind, and quality content, and thank you for being such a wonderful and gracious person. Maybe in a year from now you could be on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon showcasing snakes, imagine that! 🐍🐍 🐍 (The Irwin’s bring animals on the show from their zoo in Australia and the videos are here on UA-cam! I think you would get a lot of enjoyment out of watching them! You know, come to think of it I may have discovered your channel because of watching Robert Irwin’s videos on the Fallon show. Anyways I highly suggest you check it out and if you ever decide to come up my way give me a holler I’d love to come support your show and raise local awareness! :) One day I want to own my own snake and would love it to be from you a few years down the line. Probably something like the iridescent black snake you showed in one of your videos as one of the top five starter snakes, but we’ll see! :D P.s. Also in your videos when you’re making cute little snake captions do you mind keeping the text on the screen for a few seconds longer? I often am unable to read it before it disappears and have poor pausing and rewinding skills. It always takes me a second or two to locate it on the screen and I never am able to catch more than the first word or two before it disappears haha! My favorite part of the videos are the adorable captions you give them so I’d love being able to read them all! Thank you so much and keep smiling and spreading joy! 🤗
I love the place! I always go there for reptile supplies. I am planning on getting a corn snake there. They take real great care with all there animals!
I got a snake last week and I named him Richard! Now I saw this video and the guy’s name is Richard too!! 😂😂 I learned everything about snake from you guys so thanks!!
Have you guys ever thought of opening an educational centre for all your snakes/reptiles? I’m in Ontario (the Kawartha Lakes area) and we have a place called the Reptile Zoo. They have snakes, lizards, crocodiles, alligators and everything in between. They are kind of our go too for rescues and have educational shows as well. I could so see you doing something like that. Also if you’re ever up here you should check them out.
Yesssss I love Reptile Rapture!!! I’ve been missing seeing videos from them so I’m so happy to see a nice long one here! I live in San Diego so unfortunately I can’t go to the store in person. 😩

I am very happy this video exists. Because I bought my hog island Boa from him. And I would not have looked at his website without it. He has just been a great snake.
Wow!! That baby savannah moniter was SO cute! This series is so cool and I am learning so much about a lot of reptiles I didnt know anything about! Thanks Em! :)
What a wonderful video with such a genuinely wonderful guy. Thanks Emily and Ed! This guy has the same caring responsible attitude towards the respites that they do, it’s wonderful to see and this was amazing to watch- I really enjoyed it 👍 It’s really nice to remember that there are lots of really good people in the reptile breeding world that don’t act and behaviour like Brian.
Reptile Rapture is so cool they have awesome customer service I was having trouble with a Pac-Man frog I got from them not eating a few months back my family called them and explained the problem they gave great care advice and my Pac-Man frog is doing awesome now (the problem was that the temperature in his tank was too low by the way I got him a heat mat and now he’s doing just fine)

Allen Jay I love you *as a friend* and I agree
Allen jones why do i see u so much
The fact that he rehabilitates rescued reptiles makes him awesome too!
I think his tubs are a little sparse; not holding enough enrichment for his snakes. But he seems to, like you said, take great care of their health. 🤷♀️
Hmmm... I agree with all that but I'll support breeders that give all their snakes hides and enrichment instead
baby monitor to future owner: mom..am..am I adopted?
owner: yes my son..and you were an accident
2:36?
Sister Squad it’s just a joke
'Baby monitor'.. I'm thinking of the gadget that helps you listen for sleeping baby :-)
They have really nice displays, their displays look like something out of a National Geographic magazine
I like how their displays are nice and big!
Looks like a really cool place! I might need to check them out when I'm up there. Thanks, Emily!
Oh hey Clint
I’m on of your new subs and I have been subscribed for only a couple weeks
Glad to see Clint watches great reptile channels such as his own!

I love how you and Emily support each other's channels! You ALWAYS comment and leave feedback for each other.
Please do, please do, please do (and make a video)! 🙏🙏
Richard has a really enlightened philosophy towards rescue. He is absolutely right, he sells reptiles. He contributes to these animals numbers in captivity and not every owner is going to live up to the responsibility, so he steps in.
You know he's a good breeder if he breeds a difficult species on accident

Are you being serious or sarcastic? Can’t find out
Alex Linders it's all up to interpretation

Can you do a video on what makes a good/bad breeder and red flags to look for when adopting a snake?
RockerCatErrorEncountered 404 or a reptile as a hole cause I can’t tell you how many times I’ve bought monitor lizard with parasites and and infections

Btw you've completely changed by view on snakes in the past six months so thank you!
I like what he said “we sell them so we should help them too” more breeders should think like that !!!
I love what he said about rescues, and that as a breeder, you still have some responsibility even after the animal is sold.
This is a good look at small scale breeding. He doesn't alow his greed to outweigh the safety and happiness for his animals. And even though he uses rack systems they're nice and large.

Can I just say that Furiosa is the PERFECT name for a black-headed python?
I know a girl who named her baby girl Furiosa. Yeaaa..... F
My dad loves Mad Max and would be so proud.
Richard has a really enlightened philosophy towards rescue. He is absolutely right, he sells reptiles. He contributes to these animals numbers in captivity and not every owner is going to live up to the responsibility, so he steps in.

"Someday we'll get a black-headed python"
*Me watching this in 2020 and grinning*
I am LOVING this series, and this is probably my favorite video in it so far. His rescue & re-home work especially makes my heart happy. 💖💛💙

I think it’s awesome that he doesn’t power feed his animals!!!! To many breeders/owners do that with no care to the animals health or life expectancy. This was a great video.
Got my first reptile (a crestie) from reptile rapture’s old location! Absolutely love the store and how healthy the reptiles are!
I got my beautiful hog island boy from Reptile Rapture! All the animals I've seen from them have been wonderfully healthy, and Richard obviously cares a lot for them and knows his stuff for sure! Definitely a place I plan on visiting again for more reptiles in the future!
I'm studying herpetology in college now, thanks to you!

Amazing animals, it’s obvious the love and attention to detail in their care.
It takes skill to accidentally breed a species that has collapsed in captivity like the savannah monitor. Gorgeous baby!
I've watched some of Richard's videos. You can tell he's a very knowledgeable and genuine person. Must be something in the water up there!
So black rough-necks are just small, skinny, scaly dogs?
CUTE!!!
D.J. Droz I was thinking the exact same thing 😂
Absolutely loved this place, thanks for showing us. 😍
Beautiful cages, great care and I'm very impressed by the rescue “program“ that's going on. 👍
14:51 I thought that was one snake and I thought it had broke in half for a split second...
I got my blue axanthic iguana here. Make the hour drive a lot because we love it so much!

The sand boas are like big fat worms I love them 😍

They are great! Big variety!
They are so nice and informative to all the children, and parents.

That's really respectable, that he takes it as part of his duty, to take care of all those rescues. Major props!
I'm actually pretty scared of snakes. But thanks to your videos I overcome that fear and show more understanding in the “ reptile world “ .
I wasn't really scared of snakes but I didn't fully understand them. These videos are fun, educational, and all around great!
Richard seems chilled out and cool.
Lots of awesome animals! Really enjoying this new series. ❤️

Emily & Ed, who would’ve thought that 10 months after this you would have your black-headed Python! So happy for y’all!
My best friend and I went here and the employees were so nice and they let us hold a snake named Toby. It was amazing.

I am loving the past few vlogs. Loved the monitors and other lizards and snakes.

"these are great starter snakes, am I right?" "OH YA-" LOL that's definitely a Wisconsinite thing haha we were just talking about accents at work other day
I love these guys! I just bought 2 peters banded skinks and they are incredible! The people are so kind and did absolutely everything to help me order online . Nice job on the video! :)
It's so great that he takes such care with how much they eat. Keeps them on a lean diet if thats what they need even if slows down his breeding.
1:33 MUM, MUM LOOK AT ME I'M FLYING!!!
So glad I live in the Wisconsin area now with you all of you great reptile breeders nearby !!❤️
Thanks Em! :)
Love how Ed came out of nowhere and said "Are you sure you're not feeding me?" xD
What a wonderful video with such a genuinely wonderful guy. Thanks Emily and Ed! Yes! Reptile Rapture is amazing!
Reptile Rapture is my local reptile store!! So great to see this tour this is where I'm planning to get my first snake
Omg y’all don’t know how much I needed this content, having a crummy day & this will definitely help me out. Thanks & God bless!
No way!!!!! This is where I get all my animals!! I live 10 min from here! So happy you visited!!
I love how the Green Keeled Lizards can use their tails to swing around and climb.
So cool that people will do this kind of video on snake discovery's facility
Reptile Rapture is so cool they have awesome customer service I was having trouble with a Pac-Man frog I got from them not eating a few months back my family called them and explained the problem they gave great care advice and my Pac-Man frog is doing awesome now (the problem was that the temperature in his tank was too low by the way I got him a heat mat and now he’s doing just fine)
Honestly what a role model! I’d love to start a reptile rescue out in california! Love the videos by the way!!!
