i have this pump on a Kohler 12 magnum; it has a metal body. The problem that I cannot resolve is that I cannot fix the inlet valve in its position. So when the engine is warm, it falls out and the pump loses its suction. Small problem, but for three years now I cannot resolve it. How can I make the inlet valve to remain in its position?
I'm not familiar with the Kohler Magnum 12 but the fuel pump failure seems like it's a common issue. My suggestion is either convert it to a pulse pump or electric fuel pump.
(5239304 2c) is the part number on the fuel pump. I did end up ordering a knock of Fuel pump from amazon. With some minor modifications (inlet clocking) it worked ok. I did take it apart and it has all plastic construction not sure if that's a good thing or bad only time will tell. Brother blew in the openings with a air hose popped ours out . They went back in fine just get them the right direction.
mine is leaking an it in simplicity cfc 18 mower,, not east to get to the pump like your mower..thing about going electric pump...
