Thanks for the information! Now I understand why I can't locate a kit for my OEM Kohler fuel pump. I'll give the more expensive fuel pump a try. Thanks for posting the link for the fuel pump.
Thanks for watching!
I bought a cheap pump off Amazon and used just the diaphragm out of it in my OEM pump and it works fine.....if it ever goes out again I repeat the same thing because these pumps a so simple that the diaphragm is really the only "part" that fail consistently
Very helpful video, thank you.
Thanks for watching!
To remove the diaphragm, push it in and give it a 1/4 turn and it will come out with the spring.....also look at the way the pump arm is attached. You'll notice the OEM is nicely secured while the aftermarket ones are cheaply pinned in place....another way these cheap pumps fail.....
Thanks
Went through the same thing, I now use an electric pump and fuel regulator to dial it down to the 1-2 psi. 1993 snapper tractor w/kohler 20hp. The electric one works great.
Thanks for the info!
I've noticed ethanol gas really wreaks havoc on the diaphragm style fuel pump as well as the electric style. If your not already using ethanol free, try it with a good fuel stabilizer.
I have an electric style fuel pump, cleaned the pump with Marvel Mystery oil, lots of gunk from ethanol. Runs perfect now.
I use nothing but ethanol free gasoline myself. But I can't say for sure about the guy who had this fuel pump. Thanks for watching.
Just add Marvel Mystery Oil to the gas ... it's a miracle for power and smooth running.
I bought 2 different cheap ones off amazing for my 12.5 kohler engine and neither one would pump at all. ended up buying a 30 OEM and it worked perfectly
I am glad that you found an OEM for as little as $30. Thanks for watching.

I'm running onto this situation now. No oem sucks
Wow, I just looked at my $18 one from Amazon and it has the date code and the same inside as your good one
Hope it works for you! Thanks for watching!
Did you use the metal mounting plate or just direct pump (with O-ring type gasket) to engine? What combination did you use?
I can't quite remember. I don't remember an o-ring so it was probably just a gasket. Sorry, it's been awhile.
thank you
Thanks for watching
I went electric on my wheel horse with K12
I tried on my km18 but the Electronic one overheats because the fuel isn't constantly moving through it do you have any suggestions
so which one works
The OEM works best but since those are no longer available, I recommend the $21 unit.
@@RealManSkills Do you have a manufacturer name? The eBay link is no longer active.
@@ronin18D it moved to here - www.ebay.com/itm/353676599686
OPEengines.com is a good source for Kohler brand parts. Not sure if they go back to magnum years but they sell oem pumps for Command pros and such.
