Araki really channels that 3am, unhinged energy in these quotes. And it seems to run in the family from the quote about his sister. Also, I like to think that the bird cage quote was a continuation of the muscle cat quote.
It also is nice to see some of his thought process when making Jojo and possibly where he got some of his ideas from. Like the quote about him buying baby items might have inspired the scene in Part 4 of Joseph buying baby items.

dont feel obligated to continue watching part 1 if youre not interesred. You can skip to the latter parts and come back when youre ready. Part 1 just isnt that good.
@@umarb7325 No, thats a bad idea, though part one is somewhat boring, skiping it gives less plot drive and intriuge through out parts 2 and 3. It's also only 9 episodes and some of them are alright (especially episode one, which is pretty good in my opinion).
@@briggs7077 it's not a bad idea when the alternative is a potential new fan losing interest and dropping it forever. Many people never got past season 1 because of this and the jojo community are so obnoxious that they cant fathom anyone watching the show out of order.

He seems like such a pleasant fella to be around. I can picture him recounting most every story here with a big smile on his face, even the stuff he didn't like. Because he's still fascinated by a new experience, either way. I've always had this distinct feeling that he's fascinated by the world around him and transfers those feelings into his work. I feel quite validated knowing that he's my kind of weirdo. One that makes honest observations that most people just accept while glossing over the details.

You're actually exactly right! Even Rohan (which is Araki's idea of the ideal mangaka according to "manga in theory and practice") states how an endless curiosity for the world is integral to creating manga.

I think most of us grow up like this from childhood. I always was "weird" towards the teachers and got bad Grades, because some of my interpretations, or views were weird. It was later at university when I was one of the best in the year, because suddenly professors understood me.

So, I often check out the authors of things that I like, and I noticed a pattern that they're often the opposite of what they do, so when I first got into JoJo I thought "This Araki must be the most normal guy ever". Boy was I wrong.

Actually I get that last part! He made all the male characters in part 5 look “Beautiful” (I just thought they looked weird) because it sort of shows this doom, with the backstories and so forth, we see these men who were born and raised in darkness, yet remain sort of stalwart in ideals, but despite that, they are too kind for the underworld which would inevitably swallow them whole (Bruno, Narancia and Abacchio for example)!
Which surprises me that this was in mind throughout the part, and that the entire team didn’t die, as it would follow along with this idea of “Doom”, but that’s Jojo!
Though in a way it makes them seem mightier that even though they are too kind for a world of death they lived through it, and retained their ways to the bitter end!
4:15 Araki may have used that feeling for inspiration when writing part 4 during the conversation where Josuke refuses to buy the things needed to care for the newly found invisible baby, making Joseph do it.

Volume 53, Number 2 is definitely true. That’s what old master artists do and I can tell you from first-hand experience at industry drawing school you so indeed get nude models, one requires the anatomy knowledge. Knowing Araki he likely goes to a life drawing session somewhere often even to this day.
