Of course he has the Outer Wilds record, a true man of culture
I do really love what they did with the vinyl, I have a soft spot for vinyl with nice designs. And even more so they look like the vinyl that king gizzard would make, which half of my collection is.
The music of Deep Rock is amazing. Everyone who's heard it agrees, and there's good reason for it. Even alone, it still stands. But I think this raises another interesting concept: Deep Rock without music. The sounds of Deep Rock Galactic are so well made, make such an interesting atmosphere, and there's so much nuance to it all that might get overshadowed by the other sounds - the ambience of the caves by region or mission type or general cave formation; the distant calls and sounds of various bugs and non-hostile creatures; the sounds of equipment and weapons while the Dwarves use them or they run autonomously, or sit abandoned. So much atmosphere, and it's so incredibly dark without the music pumping - just gunshots, the crashes and grunts of combat, and the visceral yells from both sides. The distinct death rattles of different bugs, voices of those caught out, and sounds of equipment failures, be that a minigun overheat or a refinery breakdown or a hacking pod folding back in. It's indescribable, and the fact that the soundtrack _and_ the game both stand entirely when alone, and work so amazingly together, says a lot about the amount of effort put into the development of this amazing game. We're all lucky to play something this good.
Thank you so much for noticing all the hard work :-* I did producing/mixing and mastering of the DRG soundtrack along with all the sound for the DRG game. Great to read when people notice. Cheers! :)
@@trjaudio thanks for your 'behind the music of drg' videos, it helps us appreciate all the work that went into the tracks (:
I'm not into vinyl.... Mainly because I don't have anything to play them on. That said this made me consider, the disks look great and the sleeve.... Cover..... The art on the case, makes me want to see a full on drg comic in that style.
Really hope there is a UK/EU release for this record. Really sad to see it wasn't shipping to the UK.
A UK store called Chipfreq had initial UK allocation. They will likely pick up some more once the final run arrives, so stay tuned!
I just emailed ChipFreq to see about if/when they'll have some copies... Fingers crossed because I'm a new dwarf, but heck I LOVE the music.
@@SeanMcYT welcome tO the team green beard may your beard become long and your pockets heavy ROCK AND STONE
Caleb has the voice of someone who is just a genuine guy and is liked by basically everyone
Channel 3 sought out to create a holistic vinyl experience with Deep Rock, and they absolutely killed it. There's an intangible essence to the product that feels almost as if you've taken a chunk out of the game and made it real. Awesome video, as always. Hope you do more interview stuff in the future.
I order the vinyl and i was honestly worried, after hearing this guys passion and understanding i am alot less so
I came to Outer Wilds too late to get a vinyl and I am always devastated when i remember this fact
i was actually pogging to see that your top two artists are both one of my all time favorites.
There is no way you have the Outer wilds record
i do !
@@sniss I'm willing to trade you 2 blue buttons and a KitKat for it.
@@snissi'll do you one better: a snickers bar and some pre-chewed gum
Dear god that scout portrait......
HESAPOINTYEAREDLEAFLOVER!
The ears are much pointier than they should be; it has haunted me ever since I did that pic. 😆
I am so happy you got an artist and not just slapping in game assets together on the cover and calling it a day
I understand it’s tough to pick which songs will make the cut. I wished A Distant Terror made it on the vinyl. Hopefully they release more drg vinyl.
Pour one out for fathomless tomb. It made the sacrifice for this LP. Rock n stone!
Now that I got a record player for Christmas I hope I can grab the extra printed copies past the pre-order.
Signals from Outer Wilds will be the start of my collection, whenever I can get it
seeing the names sniss and slurp right next to eachother is funny to me
Just waiting for mine lol. I bought the black ones because I preferred the coasters for that one.
I did not know that this was content I wanted but this is fascinating! Thank you!
31:22 I really appreciated this jump, thank you sniss!
I've been meaning to get that hypnospace outlaw vinyl too, love that game
ROCK AND STONE TO THE BONE!
I love play games while listening some music on solo missions
Saddest thing about drg is that gunner doesn't have a cigar.
I looked at how long this was. And I thought it was just gonna be him asking questions to the album as it played
listening to this while gaming hits different istg
Really enjoyed this, rock & stone!
Nice interview!
Custom engineered soundtrack in videogames are underappreciated.
It can transform the game into a whole different experience.
i missed out on grabbing the vinyl. I only wanted the Beer Coasters from it but guess I will have to find another way.
No way I missed this back in October :(
They said they printed extra so you can attempt to get it once the orders are filled which is supposed to be in the late second Early third quarter of this year
@@geoshark12 I hope so because I missed the drop too :(
@@Mossworth8 they said they made like 600. Extra, in the video , but considering how above expectations it did i get the feeling they are gonna be trying to do re-pressings or making other vinyl ( honestly I really hope they do release a 4 vinyl set with all the music)
@@geoshark12 so say I wanted to order would I talk to them directly or just wait?
Sniss is an outer wilds fan holy shit
Magdalena Bay, Men I Trust? DRG soundtrack? 10/10 taste.
Greetings 🧐
WOAH NO WAY SNISS IS A METAROOMER!!!!! he's so cool

I just got a record player for Christmas and seeing the thumbnail was enough to make me need to change my underwear cause I creamed EVERWHERE
What the fuck
what are the soundtracks featured in the little slide? at the beginning of the video
if its okay to ask
outer wilds, undertale, grindstone, hypnospace outlaw, and spelunky.
@@sniss thank you so much man. love your content btw. I recently got the game for christmas, lets say, I am quite the good greenbeard. Rock and stone.
Hey Sniss, can you do a joke video about goofy dwarf moments
Has anyone got theirs I haven't yet?
It's still going through production, so no one has received them yet! It should be finished late Q2/Early Q3
@@ch3records915 Thanks I had no idea how to check. Thanks again

I feel more than a little let down that we in the UK could not get these... I don't think shipping half a pallet to Europe for the non North Americans would have been hard, send 'em by ship, we would have been glad of it. Poor show by an otherwise great set of Devs. Glad that those that have 'em like them, pissed off we were not considered. MEH 😒
A UK store called Chipfreq had initial UK allocation. They will likely pick up some more once the final run arrives, so stay tuned!
@@ch3records915 Thanks for that info, so Chipfreq is expecting stock in Q3 2023... a YEAR after release expected price 55 quid, very impressed, not. I feel let down and unimportant, whoever is making these decisions to treat us as second class citzens should maybe try some empathy. DRG is global, so is the following, treat it as such!
@@SuperGinkgo do you have any idea how hard it is for a small company to ship things between sides of the world? The fact that they are being pressed at all in Europe is it going “global”. They literally said in the video that channel 3 is basically a labor of love company. as for the amount of time that’s because they basically have to do the whole quality process all over again with a different pressing company which i assume you would rather a quality product while waiting
Also as someone who has gotten vinyl from Europe because the company are based there it was the exact same type of situation ( hell some i really wanted i was physically unable to get because they didn’t ship or press in Canada)
So don’t be acting rude when you will be actually getting the product
