You and Mel are the only UA-camrs I trust with my hair! Hope all is well!
To keep from touching my hair while diffusing, I use the tail end of a rat tail comb and slide it in from the front and lift up. This helps the roots get volume too.
That is a great tip!! Thanks :)
Ah, missed you Susie, so pleased you're back 😊
Thank you! I needed to head that ❤️❤️❤️ it’s been way too busy around here. I have my hands full 😅
@@CurlySusie oh I can imagine you do, being a mum is a full time job. Happy to see you back on YT though, all the best to you and your gorgeous little boys, best wishes from over here in the UK ♥️
Love this. It’s the first time I’ve heard about drying your roots first. Tried it this morning and it worked great! I prefer to let my hair air dry completely as well but I usually only have time to let it do that on a weekend. Keep the videos coming! 😘 P.S. you are beautiful!
Your videos have changed the WHOLE way I approach my curly hair! I've always been afraid to use too much product and not diffuse with heat at the roots, but after trying the techniques from your videos my hair looks a million times better already! Thank you!!!
I’m so glad Hailey!!
It will get better & better & easier to style with time
I’m in love with how you explain everything.
Missed your videos! 🤗I bet you’ve got a lot going on right now, so thank you for taking the time to make us a new video.
You are lovely! I’m just getting into CGM with my wavy hair. Your videos are very helpful!! Also my dad is Canadian and I love hearing that accent. Thanks 🙏🏻
Great to see you again ❤️ Love your videos and I recommend them to all my friends. Love the accent too. As a Newfie, I can appreciate a down home feel, that comes from an easterner like myself❣️❣️
Pleased to see you are back 😊
Love your top!!!
This vid was great & so useful, thank u for sharing.
And I'm glad to see u back!
💕💖
Hey beautiful! Just wanted to let you know as well that your channel was very helpful in knowing great tips for my hair and also that I appreciate you! Looking sparkly and I hope you're taking it easy ❤️
Enjoyed the video Susie, thanks. Glad to see you again. Your littles are so darling!
Hi Susie, I am so thankful I found your channel! I am a new woman w/ the tools (your videos/products) to actually style my wavy hair after YEARS of not knowing how to do it! Not to mention you are adorable and so refreshing. I am very appreciative- thank you! :)
Thank you so much Connie!!
Beauty! Great video Susie!
Beautiful top! Gorgeous hair!
Usually I air dry about 85-90% of the time because I don’t make the time in the morning to diffuse my hair. It’s another thing to do that I’d need to get up earlier or leave later for work. You look great and I love that 👚!
YAY Susie's back! Great tips thank u doll 😘
I miss you guys so much !!!!
It’s so good to have a new video.
Glad you're back! Nice outfit😁
My sister-in-law picks out my clothes 🤣 I’ll tell her :)
The good news for youse 🤣. Love that !!
I adore your blouse!
There can never be a "duh" moment with you Suzie!
Well, hi!! So glad to see you again. How are the kiddos? I am curly now because of you. 💕
It's like you're reading my mind!!! I love you girl!!
Just realised how much I rely on your videos Susie! So glad to see this pop up as I’ve just invested in a new diffuser & with newly curly hair I have no idea what I’m doing! 🤣
You look incredible by the way!
You look absolutely gorgeous! Your beautiful face, super pretty curls and I adore your shirt! You look wonderful 💖
I have missed your videos greatly!!!
I missed making them. I have so much to share with you guys :) hoping to shoot another one tomorrow
Susie, I forgot to tell you I started taking the St. Tropica hair & nail vitamins when I saw your results. I mainly started taking them to jump start my gray hair journey even faster. I have been trimming my own hair since the pandemic started. I can definitely see my hair is growing faster than normal. I will continue to take them as I don’t think it can hurt to incorporate another vitamin into my daily routine. Thanks again for all you advice.
Hey Ruth! I STILL take them :) I just ordered more. Glad you like them
I loved it. Thank you.
I prefer air-drying too! Nice video!
Yay! Hi there:):):) your hair is looking so great- hope all is well with you and your family 👍🧡👍🧡
Great video!!!! ❤️ and cute outfit!
Very helpful because I can't turn my head upside down for long because of having pins and rods in my spine. So I can do my diffusing upright. I just found out that my hair is wavy with a little curl at the bottom and I'm only getting my new hair dryer with diffuser today. I had been scrunching it with my hands and drying it and getting some nice results.
Been missing you!
This came at the perfect time, I finally got a hairdryer for the colder weather, and whenever I try to use it, I feel like I've stuck my head out a moving car window.
I'm hopeless at diffusing!! As I've only ever used a dryer a few times when I was a teenager over um 35 years ago, I'm right at the beginner stage!! And I end up with straight bits and frizz!!!
Good to see you!
It’s been too long!
Thanks for the skillshare!
I love it!! 💕
Hi Susie!
Thanks for all the tips! Love your videos!
I’m trying to go “curly-girl” and not straighten my hair (2 B/C) but it’s a challenge!
I know you have said you are an O.R. Nurse - for those of us in the health profession (also an OR RN) - - (and any other job who have to wear hair covers every day!) any hints at keeping it frizz free?
Not only surgical caps but super tight N95 masks with a mask that over and a face shield, what’s a curly girl gonna do??!!
Wet hair really helps to get the product all over! I tried damp styling but it just did not spread well. I've also been doing less of upside down styling or plopping for the same reasons you mention!
Wet hair styling is the #1 thing that changed my hair. I’m sure of it :)
Love your videos! That top is adorable! Where is it from?
I love your hair !!!! 😍💜💕💜
Thanks!! Your hair looks amazing in your profile pic 💕
Curly Susie thank you 💜💕💜💕
Beautiful shirt. Where did you get it at? I follow your drying tips, works perfectly. Thank you!
Hahaha love the grown up clothes moment!! That really tickled my fancy after months of leggings and pyjamas on my end!!
I have these pj pants with reindeer on them that say “oh deer” on them. You can’t tell but I’m wearing them in almost every video 😂
Yeah, this pandemic has definitely taught us new appreciation for people who wear pants!
You know, it might be a duh, but it still didn't occur to me that THAT is why the top half of my hair is frizzy 🤣 so thanks! This is a great video as always!
Loving your videos, so glad I came across your channel. And your Canadian lol xo ps.
Hi Sherry! Do you live in Canada too?
Curly Susie yes I live in Newfoundland. So great to have recommended products for us instead of always US lol.
How would you classify your curls? Your hair is beautiful and looks very healthy.
u look so good
Ah! We got the exact same hair dryer and around the same time!
What is the hair dryer? And where do I get it ? Many thanks.
@@pennycoleman6178 hi Penny...if you go to her description box (right where the title of video is)....there is an Amazon link to the hair dryer...hope that helps:)
Great tips, Susie. I’m letting my hair go gray & wondering if my curl pattern will change any going thru the process. Hoping it gets curlier. Cute outfit.
Ruth I let my hair go gray with a pixie cut and after growing it out I discovered I have natural wavy/curly hair and using the curly girl method only has made it more so.
@ruth lindahl I've been silver for two years and I have curly hair. My curls got better and less frizzy, my hair is thicker. The process wasn't easy but I love the outcome! Hang in there, it's worth it.
Gray curly hair rocks!
I have missed your videos.
hi love your vids
Thank you so much 💕💕💕
I'm glad that you are taking video editing training. Here's a Video Production Tip: A good video is mediocre when it has bad audio. Consider getting a wireless lapel mic or a wired mic closer to your face instead of using a camera mic. I learned that from years of video work on LetsKnit2gether
Hi CAT I appreciate the tip. It’s funny you say that because I literally just talked about this in my last video.. I’m working on it for sure. I’ve never been happy with my audio
I would say filming in a smaller space with more softness helps too. (Pillows, carpet, etc) it'll absorb some echo type noise 😁
I just came in here to mention how PRETTTTY you are
Oh Go-way 🥰🥰🥰
Thank you.
I got inspiration from one of your older videos on cutting your hair short. I was able to donate my hair and am enjoying the freshness of a new look and bouncy curls.
PS my nickname is Susie😂
I’m so torn about short vs long hair. I sort of loved my short hair but lately I just want it long again
Where do you get your TXTR conditioner?? My hair is also super fine like yours
Hi Sue can you advise me on what to do with a short curly bob? I have thick hair and have been using Saryna Key dry damaged shampoo and Saryna Key conditioning treatment. I just use Rusk mousse. How do I use a diffuser without getting frizzy hair?
can you please share the names of your hair growth vitamins... ? thanks
and thanks for listing the hair products you use from Amazon ...
Ohh wow love you shirt ... Where did you get it ? You are so so cute and beautiful 💙
Do you use the same products today as you mention in this video?
could u make a vid for oily wavys pleeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaase
Gorgeous, has anyone told you that you look like Claire from Outlander❤️
I always love your simple, budget+friendly, practical, and straightforward approach to curly hair method. Anyway, Lorraine Massey (the writer of curly girl method) has parted ways with DevaCurl and launched her own brand (Curly World) that is claimed to be practical. I am wondering if you are interested to try.
Just a quick Hi from one curly OR nurse to another! 👋😎
When I put on real pants, there's pet hair on them too. Ahahah😁
Susie, you are so cute! “ Cute or what?”
You look adorable 😍 I was wondering when I see you again, So Hi✋
Where did you buy that top it’s so nice!!
Suzy Shier online! Recently... & it’s on sale :)
Is your hair cut in layers?
💖
How do you get so much definition in the back ? I have long hair and shorter pieces in the front and these shorter pieces curl like crazy, also the hair on my left side doesn’t curl at all and I have ALWAYS struggles to diffuse my hair in the back of my head. Even in the shower I have struggles to distribute the product evenly. Can you do another curly hair routine in the shower ?
Hey Alexia. I still use the same products so I didn’t want to do a new routine that was the exact same.... but maybe I’ll do a video all about the hair in the back! I think that’s a brilliant idea :)
Yaaaay Susie!!! Where ya’ been?! Lol.
Oh my gawd Zoe right???? It’s been crazy. I’m going to do a quick update video tmrw. 😬😂
You got it! That’s ok...you got
Whoops... you’ve got two kids and a hubby... I totally understand! Missed you though!
I was born with straight hair, but after three kids my hair is very wavy ( some areas more than others). when left to air dry my hair looks like the cheapest, frizziest perm. With product I can get the lower areas pretty curly but the first 3” or so have not much of anything except frizz. What can I do to get any more curl in the first few inches?
It probably has a lot to do with your product application & drying. Try using a small amount of leave-in conditioner throughout your hair (even the roots) & use big claw clips to clip up your hair a bit while it dries. The weight of your hair mixed with dryness probably cause a lot of your problem. Hard to say without seeing your hair.
Curly Susie ...ok, great, will try this! TY! Nice to see you online again, after the never-long-enough-summer. Lol
Looking forward to seeing how your little guys have been, on SUS. 👋
Some hair just doesn't curl right from the root. I always have an inch or two of flat, straight root, even when my hair is at its curliest. I find it helps to section my hair before applying my gel (top, middle section and bottom) and to really, really scrunch. This also helps with the frizz as it makes sure the roots have gel on them and therefore the little broken hairs are 'stuck down' and don't frizz as much. You could also try adding more protein, either with a protein rich conditioner or by doing a rice water rinse. This helps my hair to curl higher up the shaft.
Oh mai gawd you watch Mell too?? HIGH FIVE GURL
She is so smart & funny too. I’m not a professional stylist. I’m just someone who tries different things with my hair & share what I like & what I’ve learned. Mel is a pro. Love her 💕💕💕
love her
Where did you get your shirt!? So cute!
Suzy sheer online!!! Big sale right now, I just ordered it
Curly Susie thank you so much!
So glad someone asked this haha. It was the only reason I came to read the comments! Love it Susie! Glad to see you back.
I don’t usually shop but there are so many nice shirts on there right now & under 20$!!
Curly Susie I just ordered. Really good prices!
Missing your videos Susie.
I miss making videos so so much 💕
Susie, the Bioterra gel has left white flaky residue all over my hair. What up with that?
This happened to someone else with gel before. Not all products are compatible with each other. I always mix my hair cream & gel together or mix conditioner with it & there are a few products that when I tried mixing them together I got this weird residue like you mention. Hmmmmm ???
Did you use it with other products?
Curly Susie ...no,by itself after shampoo and conditioner. Didnt notice it before. I think i bought it a year ago not sure if it goes off. I did use quite a bit and it was after the shower. But You use in, with lots of water right?
Do you know anything about perms? What would you suggest ?
Hey!! A lot of what I do is also good for permed & colour treated hair because I’m all about being gentle. The old videos where I put a TON of conditioner in my hair... I’d stay away from that maybe with a perm :)
Hi I was just checking to make sure you got my email about this place ok hi there 😊 ☺ 🙂 🤗 😄 😀 😊 ☺ 🙂 7th st 7th
Huh? Lol
