      @@incemarketers8168 she was kinda let go by Prince and in 1987 she did an album with her ex-wife Lisa. Once they stopped being lovers, she started doing work for other artists. After Prince’s passing, she got back together with the rest of The Revolution to do concerts.

      Channah Racham as an actual artist Prince was miles above MJ talent wise. MJ was smart enough to know he wasn’t the greatest at everything though and put the best people around him to compensate for what he wasn’t amazing in. Talent wise Prince was greater but MJ surpassed his level by being the smartest musician to ever navigate the business.

    When Purple Rain came out in 84, I was in the military. This clip was a shock in theatres almost as shocking as Elvis' pelvis gyration in the 50s. All the teenage girls went crazy over Prince. He was just a regular high school kid that turned musical genius with a great marketing backing.

      Bless Prince, he couldn't put a sub-par song in this movie to make their reactions understandable.
      To answer your question, Covid has stopped me from going anywhere this year, let alone a club. I did dance on top of a bar to "Little Red Corvette" and "Let's Go Crazy" on a bet. Easiest $50 I ever made (and did it completely sober) cuz I probably would've done it for free.

    I was fortunate enough to see him live in Atlanta on the Purple Rain tour. Prince was AMAZING live! The band was tight and his performance was FLAWLESS!!!!!

      It was part of the plot of the movie, it’s was supposed to make it look like the Kid wasn’t bringing it, and the audience wasn’t feeling him, so owner of the club (with the cap) wanted to replace him. On the Purple Rain live tour however people did lose their minds when he played Darling Nikki.

    It was 1984, I was 9 years old and in my room listening to this song on my new Purple Rain cassette tape. My mother heard it, immediately stormed into my room and confiscated it from me, and I never saw it again. 🤣🤣

      Although it never mattered, my mother and I, when we first saw him perform in "Solid Gold" singing "Little Red Corvette, thought he was gay. But despite his androginy, he was a ladies' man. And despite his songs w/ explicit sexual content, he was a humble and shy person when not in his role as a performer.

    In my opinion Prince was one of the greatest guitar players of all time. If you haven't seen it watch the video of him at the Hall of Fame playing with Steve Winwood, Tom Petty and many other greats. At the end of the song "My guitar gently weeps" he takes over the show and outshines everyone.
