I'm a dealer for Janome home sewing machines and Grace Company Frames. You can find all of the machines and frames we carry at: leahday.com/
Leah, if you don't get paid by Grace Company,,,,,, you should be. I struggled with the owners manual, and with the videos on the Grace website and thought I'd never get this right.... then I went back and followed you installation video. Easy peasy.
So wish this video had come sooner. I assembled my frame using your earlier video and it was a Godsend, but I was flying blind installing that regulator which I purchased at the same time. I installed it using your video for the longarm regulator, but it refused to stitch. Ended up having to call the Grace Company, who discovered I had been sent the wrong regulator for my machine and graciously sent me a new one. I love my frame and regulator and would recommend it highly to anyone wanting to take the next steps in machine quilting. I can only do two designs well, but the regulator makes them look very professional! A great investment and thank you for the detailed video - I am sure it will be very helpful to future buyers of this product.
Thank you for sharing Melanie! I'm so glad you were able to get it sorted out!
I just bought one and hope to install it soon. Sure Stitch Elite, Baby Lock Jazz II and Q-Zone Hoop Frame. I bought a Pantograph from you but I made my own Pantograph pattern track. I do not have a job and in the winter I just make quilt faces I have made 10 since October. Since the machine was on sale I bought it now and with your videos, I hope to finish my quilts. Thanks!!!!!
Really good video on the sure stitch installation. I really like the way you explain the function of each part. Thank you Leah!
Thank you so much for this tutorial. I had my stitch regulator installed in no time! Next, attach the leader cloths and my practice quilt.
Glad it helped!
Hello Leah. I am the ditherer. I watch all of your videos. Still dithering!!
LOL! Well, that is just fine. Your dithering makes me smile and I figure when you're ready, you're ready!
I learned a lesson! Don’t tighten the collar nut too much guys. Mines stripped. Thankfully it’s still usable.
Ooo! And another thing the wheel on the top coder I took off and turned it inside out and popped it back on since there isn’t a raised track on the Pro2. See if it rolls nicer. 🤔
Yep! Just tight enough to hold, not over tighten.
Question, your site says you can get one for the designer topaz 50 but grace doesn't list it. Is the Viking sure stitch the same for all of them?
I was watching you show how to use the Grace Company Q-Zone Hoop frame and you had the same machine I have, a Juki HZL-F600. You had a stitch regulator on it. Do I need a specific stitch regulator?
No Earl, that was a Speed Controller which is a different device from what is shown in this video.
Will this work on just the janome model your’e showing in vid or will it work on other Janome machines? .... I have the janome skyline s9 and would love to get the stitch regulator for it.
I like this one
I just got a sure stitch regulator and have a Juki TL 2010Q on a cutie frame.
I need help. The regulator is working perfect. Absolutely love it, however, after a few seconds the thread loops over the quilting foot. I can’t understand why. Am I supposed to turn the stitches on my Juki to 0??
That sounds more like a threading issue on your machine. Double check that your thread is going through each guide and then possibly use a thread net to get better control over the thread coming off the cone.
Thanks for the tutorial. I just got my new machine and stitch regulator. My only question is to completely turn off the regulator would be unplug it from the wall or leave it be where the number is still lit up. Would I risk damaging the regulator by unplugging it daily
Nope, that's what I do. No, it will reset to 5 every time you unplug so you'll need to readjust the stitch length.
@@LeahDay ok thanks for the info. And thank you for all your videos. They really people like me who are stepping up to the plate in the sewing world. Good day to you
Good Morning ☀️ community. Hope everyone is well.
Good morning Kathy!
I have a Brother 1500pq that I put this on. I'm having issues with the thread not coming up from the bobbin so it won't even sticth, and sometimes I have a problem where when I pull the machine towards me it stitches, but when I push away from me, it doesn't stitch. I've tried futzing with the thread tension, rethreading the machine, etc but it's not working properly. Do you have any advice on how to troubleshoot this? Thanks!
I have the same regulator on my Pfaff 1200 machine which is on my Inspira quilting frame. I didn’t put the tracks on it . The problem is the regulator won’t run fast. It’s very slow, even when I have my machine on slow. Can you tell my what my problem could be
I dont think the wheel tracks would make a difference if it was connected or not.
Are you going to do a video on Pantograph quilting on the hoop?
Yes, soon!
Leah Day- have you made that pantograph video yet ?
Leah I have a Janome HD9 need to find out if stitch regular for 1600 would work for HD9?
Yes, we have a special cable for the HD9 so yes, it will work - leahday.com/products/grace-sure-stitch-regulator
Do you know of anyone who has successfully used the stitch regulator with the Elna Excellence 760 Pro?
Will this regulator work on a Jazz 2?
Nope, unfortunately the Jazz 2 isn't compatible.
Thank you!
You're welcome!
I have a juki hooked to the regulator and the machine doesn’t slow down always seems to be racing even when not moving machine how can I slow down
I've sent you an email on this Vicki - did you not receive it?
What setting is the machine on rabbit or turtle? I just installed my stitch regulator and it isn't working at all!
Are you sure your machine is compatible? What is the machine make and model? It may be you need to change the location of the jumper (little black boxes) inside the controller. I played with it and the speed slider on the machine (turtle to rabbit) doesn't alter it's function so your issue lies in either compatibility or the jumpers being in the wrong spots.
@@LeahDay Janome 1600p - the regulator was defective...they sent me a new one. Now I'm ready, but am having issues with tension/thread, not really sure what the problem is...It's not stitching any type of regularity. thready is breaking as well...so frustrated I don't know where to start in figuring it out
.
Thank you for asking this. My regulator was not working and I finally saw that I was in turtle mode It works now!
I got one of these sure stitch devices and cannot get it to run correctly. Very frustrating.
Have you reached out to your dealer for support? First, make sure your machine is compatible with the Sure Stitch. It should be listed in the manual and you'll need to change the jumpers within the control box to match your machine. If your machine isn't listed, it simply won't work. We have a new Sure Stitch Elite that is compatible with more machines, but your machine MUST be listed otherwise the electronics cannot connect with your machine to run in place of the foot pedal.
@@LeahDay yes it came directly from Grace Co.
Hi there, is the Sure Stitch Regulator compatible with a Tin Lizzie 18?
You'll need to check with Tin Lizzie!
