Sorry, should have mentioned. I have a 2017 Ram 1500 quad with factory radio just like in video. I was looking at upgrading to 8.4 R4 radio, I didn't know a back up camera could work with the 5.0 RA2 radio, nice.
Since there is already a spot for the camera could I just buy a camera and wire it into the factory radio? I've already had dodge program my truck for the addition of the back up camera, tow mirrors and brake controller. All options that didn't originally come from the factory but items i plan on installing. Thanks for the great channel.
I did not see any mention of having to program the truck to allow the camera. Does the red camera wire to the blue programming module solve this or does the body control module need to be activated by dealer or OBD2 programmer ?
Love the video, nice to know about sw lf button auto play. One thing that bothered me, I noticed Fernando did most of the back work. You mentioned that the wire kit was to short from the tail gait to the radio and said it could have been his install job. Do you have actual measurement of the length of the cable, was it too short or the install job?
Love your videos. I've been binge watching them lately lol Question: I have a Dodge Ram 09 Crew Cab and I want to know the best type enclosures you recommend and also the difference in performance between the shallow 12" subwoofer and a "regular" 12 inch subwoofer. Thanks for your time!
I have an old JVC double din and an aftermarket backup camera for my truck, Do I need a PAC module also to install it? Great videos 👍 always looking forward to watch them
Thank you so much for this. Its been a nightmare to find a solution for a backup camera on my 2017 RAM. Dealer wants $650. I tried another cheap Amazon rear view mirror camera. Cable 4' to short. Broke the cable. There goes that...
I have a 2012 Chrysler 300 that has a factory backup camera and a 4.3 screen I just don’t know how to install the pac interface. Dont know if it’s already pre wired and which wires they would be for the camera
I have a 2015 ram 1500 with the same radio. I hooked up the backup camera tapping into the reverse light hot wire and it don’t work. Did you get yours working?
Good morning guys, another good video..... Question..... If there was an area for that camera to fit in the factory handle, couldn't you just drill the hole for that type of camera? I have F250 and they have that type of after market one as well, but if there's an area like this one I'm wondering if I can just but the little camera and save a little $$$
I have a 2010 dodge ram 3500 with radio without screen. I want to add backup camera, bluetooth with apple play, be able to watch youtube from phone and videos while moving. What aftermarket radio do you recomend? I dont want navigation but do want the navigation from my phone to be on the screen.
great vid.will this work on a 2012 ram 1500 with a 430/430n rbz/rhb radio ?also the camera came with the install kit, wowever i dont see the complete kit .do they come togather? thank youand nice job
If y’all could respond it’ll be great!!! I have the tailgate lever with camera and the that same interface I ordered from amazon I have a factory 5 inch in my 2016 ram 1500. How much is a decent price to install? I have all the equipment, I just need the installation
Do you have a video on how to be able to use your backup camera without having to put it in reverse and just hit the camera button on the pioneer radio
Question, I've got the BCI-CH41 harness in my truck, Ram 1500 2015, I got a tailgate camera from eBay and hooked it up to the harness to so it would run on the monitor. But all I'm getting is a blue screen when putting it in reverse. What do I have wrong? The tailgate camera cable male is hooked to camera RCA female on harness. Red wire is hooked to program 1 blue wire on BCI module, black wire is ground, and yet still blue screen.
I checked the hot and ground, they had power. I checked the prongs that hook to the end of the cable, again had power. I think the loss of power is somewhere between the camera part of the cable.
Chris Kasper we just add a 6' cable with the butt connector they supplied. We also put heat shrink on the connection so it won't come apart down the road.
I’m in the market for a double din radio for my 2016 grand caravan. I need Bluetooth and ability for a backup camera. My wife and I use iPhones so we don’t need anything extra involving android. I’d like to stay under $200 but I don’t want junk. Any suggestions?
I’ve missed a process i guess, at beginning you guys took the violet cable for step1 ( backup camera in reverse) and you said was on the harness, and that goes on the power cable of the camera..but later on I didn’t see you wire that cable and not even the one on the battery..I’m confused !?
so this PAC module will eliminate the need to have the ECM flashed by the dealer for the rear camera to work? I know with the OEM Mopar setup, the ECM needs a dealer flash for the camera to work. Also, the only thing I noticed in the video that turns me off about this camera setup is, when in reverse I didn't see the rear bumper at all. The OEM setup has a wide enough angle that one can see the entire rear bumper
I have the 8.4 screen in a 2017 with factory back cam already. Do you have any idea how to make it stay on in all gears?? Im will to put it on a toggle if i could figure out which wire in factory harness to use. Thanks :)
+Marshall Warwick it is done though the computer in the truck. You would have to get this smart harness to have it talk to the car to activate the screen.
guys what is the name of that black putty that is used to seal the hole that was drilled for the wire to pass through? And what size are those small yellow butt connectors used to cap off the unused stereo wires?
Why not just follow the Factory harness along the Framerail ???? Instead of running it over the Wheel well housing , especially if a Customer gets into Mud or Something. More likely to get Snagged or Damaged by not following Factory harness
The video doesn't show it. But the red, Yellow, black wires are the power wires. So he connected three of the wires. Yellow is battery, Black is ground. Red is the accessories. All 12 volts. He joined it from the factory harness connector which is connected to the PAC audio wiring harness connectors.
These are good questions. You'll have to find the right stereo fit first. Then buy the other accessories, like adapter kits. These you can find on crutchfield. It is an auto website. They'll cover almost everything you need to know on auto audio. Car radio installation. You can plug in your car make, model, and radio size, and it will dish out the information and price of the accessories you will be needing. Crutchfield.
If you're a little scared and don't want to ruin your car, then you can let these guys do it for you. Personally if it were for me, I'd just go for watching them do it for me. Reason is, if I ruin my car, it is double cost. But if I'm the worker, my insurance policy would pay the ruined damage. But that is if you make a mistake while fixing it.
I have the bco-ch41 v2 on a 2013 ram 1500 sport. I only have a a/v plug in. The interface led 1 is red and the led 2 is flashing green. I havent beem able to get the a/b option in media to appear. What am I doing wrong?
Ok so I have a camera installed which works fine when the vehicle is in reverse, yet when I engage the camera manually on my 2800bs receiver I get no image... sorry, not a truck question directly I know but what gives....?
Maurice Foster is the camera getting power from the reverse light? If so that would be the problem. The camera only gets power when the lights are on. For some reason people connect their cameras to the light for power( usually because the instructions are crap). This is not the way to do it, it can cause issues for the car down the road. The light Circuit was only made to power the bulbs not a camera too. To fix it run the camera power to the red wire behind the radio.
Five Star Car Stereo yep, that's exactly how I ran the power based on the idea that the camera will come on when the reverse gear is engaged... back to the drawing board then! Many thanks as usual and happy holidays guys.
Kemet King with out breaking the bank, the Atrend Ram box is my favorite. Shallow woofer are made to perform in small, no air space having boxes. For these type of boxes I like the Phoenix Gold and Rockford p3 shallow woofers.
Very cool guys. Stumbled upon this video and decided to watch. I don't even own a RAM truck and my RAM Promaster already has a backup camera.
Sorry, should have mentioned. I have a 2017 Ram 1500 quad with factory radio just like in video. I was looking at upgrading to 8.4 R4 radio, I didn't know a back up camera could work with the 5.0 RA2 radio, nice.
This video save $140.00 for installation. Thank you!!!!.
The best part of the video, is opening up the kits.
where did you buy the kit
Since there is already a spot for the camera could I just buy a camera and wire it into the factory radio? I've already had dodge program my truck for the addition of the back up camera, tow mirrors and brake controller. All options that didn't originally come from the factory but items i plan on installing. Thanks for the great channel.
One Last thing yes why not, it they already turned it on. You can easily drill in your own camera on this one.
I did not see any mention of having to program the truck to allow the camera. Does the red camera wire to the blue programming module solve this or does the body control module need to be activated by dealer or OBD2 programmer ?

Thanks for this video I am so doing this 2014 RAM with RA2 radio
goldiegoo cool!
I have an old JVC double din and an aftermarket backup camera for my truck, Do I need a PAC module also to install it? Great videos 👍 always looking forward to watch them
Only if you have steering controls in your car and premium sound on it or made by GM or Chrysler 2000 model and up.
Nice , way to integrate the camera and handle , hopefully they make this for my 07 avalanche..
Tonyoneandonly Smith the make the Pcam-gm3, it may work on your truck.
Thanks for the info , have to look it up ..

Tonyoneandonly Smith that was my bad look here

Are those sweater any good? I might buy one. I feel as if I'm already working on a car. If not, at least helping out on a car.
It was very informative. Thank you.
Best video!!!
I have a 2012 Chrysler 300 that has a factory backup camera and a 4.3 screen I just don’t know how to install the pac interface. Dont know if it’s already pre wired and which wires they would be for the camera
Did you guys use Split or non-split wire loom on this project and what diameter loom did you use? Was it 3/8 or 1/4 in?
Hey I have a ram 2018 2500 I have a avh-4200nex and can't get the backup camera to work even with tapping into reverse light any thoughts
I have a 2015 ram 1500 with the same radio. I hooked up the backup camera tapping into the reverse light hot wire and it don’t work. Did you get yours working?
When you added the extra 6’, was it 1 cable for the RCA and 1 for the red power wire?
Good morning guys, another good video..... Question..... If there was an area for that camera to fit in the factory handle, couldn't you just drill the hole for that type of camera? jmaslin I was thinking the same thing when we were doing this one. I would definitely take it off and take a look.
I have a 2010 dodge ram 3500 with radio without screen. I want to add backup camera, bluetooth with apple play, be able to watch youtube from phone and videos while moving. What aftermarket radio do you recomend? I dont want navigation but do want the navigation from my phone to be on the screen.
I have a 2017 ram and trying to keep factory back up cam. Is it a harness I can use?
where did you hook up the ground wire from the camera? Is there a wire on the harness to attach it to?
great vid.will this work on a 2012 ram 1500 with a 430/430n rbz/rhb radio ?also the camera came with the install kit, wowever i dont see the complete kit .do they come togather? thank youand nice job

I have a 2016 Ram 1500 Express Quad Cab. What all do I need to order to add this back up camera to my stock radio?
Good work guys and thanks for sharing
Brian Miles thank you for watching
Where can I get this same work done on my 2015 ram express and how much is installation?
If y’all could respond it’ll be great!!! I have the tailgate lever with camera and the that same interface I ordered from amazon I have a factory 5 inch in my 2016 ram 1500. How much is a decent price to install? I have all the equipment, I just need the installation
I Used to do this all day without a module.
On a 2012 ram would u advise splicing the 12v wire and the reverse wire onto the 7 pin trailer plug wires or running both straight to the dash
Do you have a video on how to be able to use your backup camera without having to put it in reverse and just hit the camera button on the pioneer radio
Where are the links for the kits? Are they still available?
Where would you recommend installing a backup camera, for a dodge caliber?

Check with volt meter, sound like camera is not powering up.

Great video thank you
gerardosalmeron83 thank you

How did you go about extending the rca? did you cut and extend or did you just another rca and use female adapter.
Chris Kasper we just add a 6' cable with the butt connector they supplied. We also put heat shrink on the connection so it won't come apart down the road.
I have a 2014 Chrysler 300 will I be able to use the smart harness to connect a Media playrr to my 8.4 inch you connect radio
I have a 2018 ram 1500 Canadian March build date with 8.4” display and didn’t come with a backup camera?

How do you get the navigation system do you extra parts or just tune it with that device ..? Thank you
Where can I purchase for my 2017 Dodge Ram 1500? Thanks

my 2017 1500 can show the camera whenever i tap the button on the screeen from factory
I guess you didn't think anyone would need to see what you did. Well, with all the fast forwarding, we didn't.
Could navigation system hooked up to the Uconnect 5.0 that belongs to the 2018 Ram promaster city?
Do all dodge Rams have back up camera
guys what is the name of that black putty that is used to seal the hole that was drilled for the wire to pass through? And what size are those small yellow butt connectors used to cap off the unused stereo wires?
goldiegoo it is 3m strip caulk, they are 22awg butt connectors. If you can find a Stinger or PAC dealer they can order them for you.
Can you power the camera from the reverse light and this still work? I have it wired that way and I'm just getting a blue screen
Is the cam cable hooked up to the correct RCA jacks?
Does this work on a 2011 dodge nitro shock ?
Why not just follow the Factory harness along the Framerail ???? Instead of running it over the Wheel well housing , especially if a Customer gets into Mud or Something. More likely to get Snagged or Damaged by not following Factory harness

Five Star Car Stereo thanks for reply but got it to work.

donde conecto la camara y donde conecto el cable azul para programacion 1
Will this work on a 2010 with parking assistant.
+Captain NU check out the PAC-Audio BCi-CH21
how does the navigation unlock work?
You can press one of the buttons on the steering wheel to unlock the navigation so a passenger can enter an address while moving

Where do i find the parts to install? Have the same radio in a 2013 quad cab
I want to know the same thing!
I do not have a screen on my radio - 2010 Ram. What do i do for a screen?
+David Boyd you will need a new radio
or you can get rear view mirror lcd (available on amazon/ebay) tht lcd will feed the video and when not in use it will act as mirror
So I put a camera on my truck n I connect everything but when I put it on R it goes on sometimes
it's supposed to do that in case there's something behind you
No links
Link?
Not a Dodge. Dodge hasn't made a truck since 2008
All I saw was to hands moving real fast with the wiring. Useless.
Love your videos. I've been binge watching them lately lol
