Great info. I ordered the MX+ on Amazon and got it overnight and downloaded the Alfa program to my laptop and was able to install and program a used replacement ABS module that I got on Ebay in about 3 hours (including beer breaks) today. And now I have everything I need for next time. Thanks for putting this out there.
I also was able to use Alpha OBD to turn on the factory backup camera option on my stock 2015 ram stereo and connected a $65 amazon camera kit to it via pins #31 for camera signal and #32 for rca shielding signal..

I was almost deciding to use relay, control wire it on mirror lights and put first light switch position on it's contact points...i would like to also remove forced ac on when blowing on windshield and disable all switching to default after climate or engine start, those things drive me nuts, i set fresh air and it gets always reset to circulation with every engine start

Charles. You talk about programming a fob using ALFA obd and obd link. I have a 2015 Ram 1500. I bought it used and it only came with one fob. I got a brand new 5 button fob off eBay. I also have the 4 digit code from the dealer. My Ram fob has lock/unlock,panic , remote start and suspension lowering. I can’t seemed to find a video describing how to do the programming using ALFA obd.
I actually kept scrolling and found my answer in another comment. Only difference is I have a push button start. With the key fob walkthrough on the forum it showed using the baseline system but I had to use high line system. Then I had to actually start my truck from the inside to reset my remote start. It was very easy.
Have a 15 2500 tradesman and I'm getting the following message with the OBDlink mx+ any advise I'm told this is a AlfaOBD software issue not the OBDlink mx+ device. If AlfaOBD displays a message "Interface reports NO DATA" or "Interface reports CAN ERROR" when connecting to the car ECU, this is most probably a sign that you have one of these defective interfaces. Such an interface might work fine with other diagnostic software using OBDII/EOBD protocol, but it can have issues with AlfaOBD because of a different diagnostic protocol used. It is recommended to use an ELM327 interface tested with AlfaOBD.
This works perfectly on the 2019 RAM 2500. I used the Autel cable to bypass the security gateway module. It is located behind the instrument cluster. Had to remove uconnect system and cluster to get to the cable. Would have probably been easier with the other bypass cable.
Lots of questions here. All I want to do is change my tire size to get accurate speed and mpg. So many other choices- wonder what really works. Firestone said they woukd calibrate the tires- i dont know if I can trust them ! No disrespect intended, just new 2023 RAM is pretty expensive and I couldnt stand an OOPS.
Great Video I have a 2018 Ram Laramie 1500 and installed the Factory Trailer Brake Control Module, I have the OBD Max+ and the Alpha OBD on my Tablet and I hope the correct module bypass cable, not certain where to go and how to get truck to recognize the trailer Brake module, I put my Snap-On scanner on and it indicates data when I move the slide and push plus or minus, so I know it is there, I need instruction on Alphaobd module set up. You can update uconnect easily. Check your vin for updates on the website, download the update on a thumb drive then go put it in the USB port in the car and install. I’ve done twice since I’ve had my Chrysler 300
I have to change my instrument cluster. All of a sudden it stopped working. Am I able to fix the odometer reading and all the information that used to be in my old instrument cluster to the used new cluster?
Get your pins now if you can get them. I had to go to 3 different dealers just to get mine. Also go to the parts deparment the service deparment will look at you with three heads.
My 2016 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT (8cyl) is stuck in limp mode and cannot switch the gear knob to anything. I have also replaced the throttle body. Will this device fix the transmission lightening bolt and relearn the throttle body I purchased at Auto Zone????? I bought a lesser expensive obd2 adapter and kept getting a corrupt error after connecting to the truck and when I attempted to turn on the mirror turn signals on my tow mirrors. It connected but wouldn’t make the change. I am returning it and just bought the MX+ with hopes that it will work. Trying to turn on mirror blinkers and puddle lights initially. I’ll try again when I get the MX+. It’s a 2018 Ram. Thanks for a great video!

Hi I have a question, I’m having major issue. I read the directions to add a new key to my truck followed the steps and now neither key will start my truck. 1st the truck started then died. 2nd the truck wouldn’t even crank over at all. All lights come on and work. I was told I bricked my win module. Anyway to use the same module without having to pay the dealer a arm and a leg to fix it? Please any help would be appreciated.
Hmm, who said it was bricked? I’m guessing it somehow cleared out all the registered keys, but I’m unsure of how to add them back…haven’t tried making another key yet. Lmk

No, will need android to adjust settings. iPhone app will just let you see gauges and error codes, but nothing alfaobd offers or any settings like that

I'm pretty sure the software can do it but the newer trucks have a gateway module. I'm not sure if I need a gateway module bypass in order to make changes through the OBD.

Hmm, I know on the newer (14+ maybe?) the lows and highs stay on together. You would be able to use a relay to accomplish this, but I'll have to see if there is a way through alfa to do this.
Do you know if alfaobd can add rdz options to make the steering wheel radio controls works if you add the controls in the steering wheel if this doesn't came from factory?

Hi, thanks for the vid. I recently took my 2013 Ram2500 in for a few recalls. Ever since then I have had a few error codes and erroneous behavior from the truck. I think one of the things they did was some firmware upgrades. My truck has the EGR delete, i think maybe they screwed up my programming. The code I am getting are : U010c P0841 P0870 P0740 Any help or tips would be greatly appreciated.
All good. I just went looking for it and only found Alfa and had to make sure it was the same thing you were referring to. This is going to help me a ton because my local dealers refuse to help me with my TPMS on my 2016 Power Wagon. Now the question is how much of a hassle are they going to make it getting that Pin#.

if you have an iphone, get the mx+. You can't program anything with your iphone, but at least you can use other obd apps to see engine parameters and such. The obdlink mx, the alfa app, and a phone/tablet are all you need to get rid of that error/light out code.

Basically the + can connect to the iOS/iPhone platform...BUT the alphaobd app is not available on iOS devices. The reason you’d get the mx+ is if you don’t have android but you have access to one to program your truck (coworker, neighbor etc) and you want to use the mx+ afterwards to use other apps to see gauges on your truck (speed, rpm, temps, plus a bunch of other vehicle parameters).

Hi. Here is a challenge. My 2018 Ram 2500 is deleted. (EFI Live) I just purchased the truck and realize that the Heated Seats, Steering wheel or cooled seats do not work. They are "reded" out as if not an option. However I can activate the drivers eat and steering wheel by selecting the "Turn on with Remote Start" feature. Then I can't turn them off unless I shut the truck off. Is there a place using Alfa OBD that allows that to be turned back ON? Thanks for the time.

App is $50, the plus can connect to ios/apple but it CANNOT be used to run Alfa (which only runs on android). So you can still use your iphone to view engine stats and stuff-just no changes or access to alfa.
I bought a veepeak ble and it does not work on my 2008 dodge charger, I have heard some people have it working on theres they just use the 300(lx) or magnum (lx), but I cant get it working.
My speedometer had stopped at 621,369 miles, any idea how to get them to start working again? Cummins forums I have a lot of complaints about the odometer stopping there, apparently that’s 1,000,000 km and in Chrysler genius they can’t figure out how to roll the odometer.

If only the gauge cluster was digital, it could keep going past 621,369! Oh wait, it could... I’d just set back to 0, OR figure out how many miles past that you’ve gone and set it there. What year? AlfaOBD can pull your PIN as well so you don't need the trip to the dealer.

I'm still figuring out the program but I've heard of people being able to disable something's. There's a read pin option on one of the menus.

It works well with my original ELM327 obd2 adapter I bought on ebay 7 years ago for $12... I programmed 2 new keys for my ram today.

for your 2019, did you change TPMS? did you need the dealer 4 digit code,? is it a rolling code? or did you use AlfaOBD to pull the pin?

can you also use it to monitor transmission temp? have the ODMX app but trasmission temp does not show as availalble PID..have a RAM Promaster 3500

You shouldn’t need anything-they should auto pair when you start using them. It may take some time, maybe 30 minutes of driving or so?

You removed the factory air ride? If so, it should be doable with this. If the dealer can change it, you can change it.

Hi, thanks for the vid. I recently took my 2013 Ram2500 in for a few recalls. Ever since then I have had a few error codes and erroneous behavior from the truck. I think one of the things they did was some firmware upgrades. My truck has the EGR delete, i think maybe they screwed up my programming. The code I am getting are : U010c

P0870
P0740
Any help or tips would be greatly appreciated.
Sorry for the delay, do you know what was changed when you deleted? I'm sure the dealer just flashed the truck back to normal during the "update"
Last mechanic worked on Truck left one the battery cables lose. Had other codes abs,water in fuel.
Just to help make this clear, it is "AlfaOBD" and not "AlphaOBD".

All good. I just went looking for it and only found Alfa and had to make sure it was the same thing you were referring to. This is going to help me a ton because my local dealers refuse to help me with my TPMS on my 2016 Power Wagon. Now the question is how much of a hassle are they going to make it getting that Pin#.
Hopefully you didn't have much of a problem. I was expecting them to be frustrating and was prepared to bring a crying baby into the building until they gave me the code. Turns out they were super cool about it haha.

Not that I know of...I know of only superchips and diablosport, but that is more for performance changes and such.
Do you need to remove the resistors that I'm using for the Morimoto LED kit after the changes using the AlfaOBD, or can you just leave them?

Hey Charles, great video and very well explained. Quick question about the Bypass cable requirements as I am confused and I am sure others maybe as well. I have a 2019 Ram 1500 Classic, is this bypass cable required? Or, is it only for the New Body Style 1500's? Or, do both models from 2018 - 2020 require this Bypass Cable to e able to modify programming settings?

if you have an iphone, get the mx+. You can't program anything with your iphone, but at least you can use other obd apps to see engine parameters and such.
The obdlink mx, the alfa app, and a phone/tablet are all you need to get rid of that error/light out code.

What is the difference between the mx+ and the mx. Other than huge price
Basically the + can connect to the iOS/iPhone platform...BUT the alphaobd app is not available on iOS devices.
The reason you’d get the mx+ is if you don’t have android but you have access to one to program your truck (coworker, neighbor etc) and you want to use the mx+ afterwards to use other apps to see gauges on your truck (speed, rpm, temps, plus a bunch of other vehicle parameters).

Nope, there are two codes, one is "rolling" and changes, the other does not. The one that does not is what you need for tires etc.

Hi. Here is a challenge. My 2018 Ram 2500 is deleted. (EFI Live) I just purchased the truck and realize that the Heated Seats, Steering wheel or cooled seats do not work. They are "reded" out as if not an option. However I can activate the drivers eat and steering wheel by selecting the "Turn on with Remote Start" feature. Then I can't turn them off unless I shut the truck off. Is there a place using Alfa OBD that allows that to be turned back ON? Thanks for the time.

App is $50, the plus can connect to ios/apple but it CANNOT be used to run Alfa (which only runs on android). So you can still use your iphone to view engine stats and stuff-just no changes or access to alfa.
I bought a veepeak ble and it does not work on my 2008 dodge charger, I have heard some people have it working on theres they just use the 300(lx) or magnum (lx), but I cant get it working.

My speedometer had stopped at 621,369 miles, any idea how to get them to start working again? Cummins forums I have a lot of complaints about the odometer stopping there, apparently that’s 1,000,000 km and in Chrysler genius they can’t figure out how to roll the odometer.
